    HP Reverb G2

Is there any way to improve the black level on the G2? Or any mods to improve the sound level, as I feel the speakers are too low to feel immersive in certain situations.

    Official EVGA Ampere Queue Thread

Well, at least you guys can join a queue. In Norway you can't even order one and wait until it is in stock. The closest I've come to a 3080 was a competition where the first prize was that you would be able to buy one at MSRP. :(

The New Super High Resolution PC Screenshot Thread

Great game overall, but the engine has a limited draw distance that cause some irritating pop-ins that breaks immersion a bit. But highly recommended anyway, and I'm looking forward to KCD II.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti’s GA102-225 GPU Leaked

Yeah, maybe AMD was hit harder than Nvidia, but I was still regretting not buying a 1080Ti at full price for years after it was released. Ended up with a slightly faster 2080S in the end, and I'm sure that will have to last me well into 2022 at least.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti’s GA102-225 GPU Leaked

Was there reallly a big crash after the first mining craze? I can't say I remember it was, other than that the availability increased. No dirt cheap cards flooding the second hand market that I can remember.

U.S. to allow small drones to fly over people at night

Exactly. There is no way I can this being allowed, at least not in the suburbs where shrieking kids is the only sound allowed. Drones are incredibly noisy and will stay that way until anti-gravity engines are invented.

Golden age of PC gaming...I was 18 in 1993

This. I was 25 in 1993 and had just built my first PC that was overclocked with dip switches by mistake, and the next 10 years were the best for gaming and HW. Hell, I upgraded twice a year and could expect a doubling in performance each time . But the games were great too, you could...

    Alien Isolation.... Any good?

Maybe they could make some money on a Redux version with completed VR support? There's a lot more VR kits out there today than it was in 2014, that's for sure.

Navi 21 XT to clock up to 2.4GHz

So why do the game benchmarks show little difference between the 3080 and the 3090, even though the latter has more than twice the memory of the former? The Eurogamer 3090 review shows 7 frames between them at 4K. MS Flightsim 2020 is the same, actual difference is negligible.

Navi 21 XT to clock up to 2.4GHz

With 16 Gb of RAM I'd say you should expect something north of 300W.

    Star Wars: Squadrons

This! It reminds me of how EA treated the unexpected success that was Dragon Age: Origin, where everyone had just assumed that isometric RPGs was something that people just didn't want anymore. DA:2 changed the formula for some reason, probably to get more console players, DA:I even further to...

Just another "is 10GB enough for 4K gaming" thread?

People have said Flightsim 2020 requires a lot of VRAM to run properly, but the 24Gb 3090 is only about 15% faster than the 3080 in F.S 2020, the same amount as in other games. So again, allocated VRAM memory is not the same as needed.

Just another "is 10GB enough for 4K gaming" thread?

I'd say 10 Gb will be fine for at least this generation of GPUs. First of all, the new consoles have shared memory so not all can be used for VRAM. And secondly, how many console games are actually ported to the PC? And using ray tracing at 4K will have your GPU kneel anyway, so does it matter...

    HP Reverb G2

I pre-ordered anyway. I get 14 days to return it, so I should have time to find out if it works good enough to keep by then. Hopefully the G2 sales will give Microsoft a swift kick in the nuts so they start developing the Windows VR software again.

    HP Reverb G2

I had the Reverb G1 for a couple of months, but reluctantly returned it in the end due to the thick and heavy cable, mediocre sound and black level. It sounds like HP has fixed all of my gripes, and more, so I'm close to pre-ordering this. I also have a Vive, and can use my lighthouses to...

    RTX 3xxx performance speculation

The concern about VRAM is way overblown IMO. Most people that are worried points to how much VRAM is in use by a game, but some game engines allocate VRAM based on what is available and can run with much less if needed. I have an 2080 Super 8Gb and I can't say I have experienced a lack of VRAM...

    RTX 3xxx performance speculation

That may be part of it, we don't know yet. But I think another reason is that they have looked at the financial situation and found that another extremely high priced product would both hurt their sales and image enough to warrant lowering the price this time around. Perhaps component prices...

Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

Yep, someone should really look into this. As far as I know they have registered a LOT (I think it is north of 30) of different companies that monies can move between, making tracing them extremely difficult. I'm guessing Chris, his wife and brother are on the board of every company, which I...

Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

Yuo hit the nail on the head here. But I also think the money he. his wife and brother, is making out of this is a very important factor in why this will seemingly never be finished. Nobody knows what the Chairman pays himself, I am sure that people would be aghast if they ever found out.

Weight and the horrible pollution you could cause if the plane went down. Could you imagine a nuclear powered Boeing 737 MAX? But they did try nuclear planes in the 60s, both the US (no live reactors I think) and USSR. The US concluded it was not practical because of the neccessary lead...

A radio signal coming from a source within the Milky Way has been detected by astronomers

Yeah, good point. But I think it would be impossible for aliens to apply for a tourist visa since there is no "N/A - Outside Solar System" choice for country of origin on any application form I've ever seen, and government employees have never been known to be very lenient. So I guess their...

I know, we can stop it if we stay strong, no doubt about that. But I am convinced we will just cave in if the choice is between a subscription to Rockstar, or not playing GTA VII at all.
  39. E

Some Stadia Features Won't Make Launch

Your right about that, but I am so pessimistic that I feel pretty sure that given the choice of subscription or no games at all, people will choose subscription. So it is just for the industry to have a little chat, do a little testing and see that it works OK, and then one by one go over to...
