Then just disable ASBL... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=by.makarov.smarttvlgrc Hit IN START, Code: 0413, go to OLED section and disable TPC and hit EXIT OR IN START again. Your phone must support IR blaster afaik.

Good points, but I know how to validate things like that. I'm using OLED since two years. I know Youtube compression can show banding, but it is clearly less visible with ycbcr444 limited + 8bit. Also visible in the Eizo monitortest programm and the gradient test patterns. My C9 behaves exactly...

In SDR I can't see this issue. Are you talking about HDR? This is exactly what I discovered last week. Colorbanding is greatly reduced with ycbcr444 limited + 8bit in HDR on my C1. It is very obvious in AC: Valhalla for example, when there is a blue sky without clouds. But it is also visible on...

The Samsung QLED q90a will be released in a 43" model.

My Q90T flickers like shit near lower VRR range. They never fixed it. Maybe also depends on the panel you actually get.

Yes, it takes insane predictive time management skills, such as turning off the lights from time to time when you leave a room.

Pretty sure this video would not exist if he would have turned his TV off every 4-8 hours for 6 minutes to let the pixel refresher doing it's thing.

    Gigabyte AORUS FO48U 48" 4K 120Hz OLED

I think Gigabyte lowered the overall brightness on purpose. It's official declared as a monitor so they just want to play it safe. Same thing applies to the Alienware 55" OLED from 2019. The peak brightness was even lower on this thing afaik. I wouldn't expect a big change with firmware...

I check it from time to time. I have only one towards the bottom of the screen on my C9 (October 2019) and none on my C1 (June 2021). The other supposedly dead pixels that I find are just dirt.

With my X-Rite i1 Display Pro plus I measured 700 nits in HDR Cinema-mode and 674 nits in PC + Game-mode on my 48C1 (non-evo panel) after calibration. I really would like to know why there is such a gap in their 48CX vs 48C1 review in terms of HDR real scene, that does not make any sense. They...

    Gigabyte AORUS FO48U 48" 4K 120Hz OLED

What is the peak brightness of this monitor? Gigabyte claims up to 900 nits, but i also read somewhere it barely hits 500 nits? So what is true?

That doesn't matter from my experience. Even with >100 FPS average you can still have annoying VRR-flickering due to frametime issues. 90-93-85-95-100-110 FPS *frametime hiccup occurs* and suddenly it goes down to 60fps or even lower for a split of a second. But not every game has to have...

    LG 48CX

A frame rate with (a lot) fluctuation isn't the problem, it's about bad frametimes. These very quick hiccups are causing a rapid gamma shift of the OLED sub-pixels which is noticable as gamma flickering. The reason for this can you read here at 1:18: While using VRR in a game with a dark...

    LG 48CX

Strange. I'm always using PC-mode and Game-mode and both my C9 and C1 look identical in game-mode compared to other modes if i use in the same settings, even before i started to calibrate my OLEDs with Calman Home + x-rite i1display pro plus.

Yeah, on my C1 i don't even use native 4K for gaming anymore if i have the choice. I also kinda like 3840*1800.

What is the absolute best monitor for gaming right now? I've been away for a long time...

Doesn't matter which game genre, once you spin the camera the motion smearing is crazy obvious compared to OLED. The VA panel with it's response time just can't keep up with higher framerates. I'm also still seeing ghosting on this TV although it got better with firmware 2014, sadly not in terms...

What is the absolute best monitor for gaming right now? I've been away for a long time...

SDR brightness in a very bright room is the one and only advantage of the Q90T over OLED. We have a Q90T in the living room. The HDR performance in terms high APL scenes isn't really impressive compared to OLED, because if you want accuracy you can basically only use filmmaker or movie mode...

Make sure you disable all the fast boot stuff (Bios/Windows, quick start in the TV settings).
