Source for Koolance LIQ-702CL-B Clear coolant

Yeah I'd probably just go with 705 in your shoes. Going by the MSDS, they're both propylene glycol and water based coolants. The 705 has a couple extra corrosion inhibitors and antimicrobial additives. I doubt there'd be any issues mixing them. Just maybe they can't guarantee the low...

    Gigabyte AORUS FO48U 48" 4K 120Hz OLED

Yeah I'm still enjoying mine, especially now that they fixed VRR over DisplayPort for nVidia cards. I tend not to play games in a bright environment so the HDR still has enough pop for me (and for movies I have my TV in the living room). Does make me wish open source monitor firmwares were a...

    Gigabyte AORUS FO48U 48" 4K 120Hz OLED

Well the display does have two HDMI ports so you can use both your PC and PS5 via HDMI. But the DisplayPort is fine. Below 48Hz the GPU will just use LFC so your effective range is still 1 - 120 As far as the HDR - By the objective measurements, the LG CX/C1 offers a superior HDR experience...

    Gigabyte AORUS FO48U 48" 4K 120Hz OLED

Yes, it can do HDR and gsync compatible at the same time As of F05, the range is 48 - 120 over DisplayPort and 40 - 120 over HDMI. in F02-F04, it was 40 - 120 for all ports. I find there to be less flicker with the 48 - 120 anyway, and at that point the LFC transition isn't really noticeable.

Recommend me a high quality DisplayPort cable please.

I'm using this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B092ZXSVJS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 I've also considered getting a fiberoptic displayport cable to have something thinner, but they're not cheap.

    Gigabyte AORUS FO48U 48" 4K 120Hz OLED

Supports 4k RGB @ 120 Hz over HDMI for me. That said, I haven't noticed that delay over DisplayPort unless the resolution is actually changing when going full screen. Though now that I think of it, pretty much all of the games I play support borderless, so that might be the difference.

    Snagged a G2

My original cable was flaky with my X470 board with a 5950x. Eventually stopped working altogether. They shipped me the new revision cable and that seems to be working great so far.

    Gigabyte AORUS FO48U 48" 4K 120Hz OLED

I'll have to compare to my TV, but to some degree that's just going to be reality when 0,0,0 is literally off and 1,1,1 isn't when you only have 256 steps. I imagine 1,1,1 in 10-bit would be much darker.

You could probably use koolance 705 instead.

    Gigabyte AORUS FO48U 48" 4K 120Hz OLED

There's an F05 non-beta now. Going to flash that and see if it fixes anything. Edit: Seems to have fixed the issue. They did change the minimum in the EDID to 48Hz instead of 40Hz like with F02-F04, but it's still a wide enough range for LFC so it should be fine.

    Gigabyte AORUS FO48U 48" 4K 120Hz OLED

Might be the F05 firmware. Mine seems to be counting correctly now too. I just need them to fix the EDID they fucked up, since DisplayPort is 99% of the reason I bought this thing in the first place.

    Gigabyte AORUS FO48U 48" 4K 120Hz OLED

Unless you want multiple displays or need to use that single HDMI port for something else. And for older games you don’t necessarily need a 3080 or better. Overall the issues do actually seem fixable. Question is whether or not gigabyte will bother.

    Aquacomputer Leakshield

Yeah mine was reading similarly at the level you see in that picture. I think it's probably some combination of air being stuck somewhere in the loop and the soft tubing collapsing a tad when the vacuum is pulled. It's probably calculating the level based on the assumption that the loop is...

Looks like we've got pretty similar setups. Definitely enjoy the peace of mind this thing offers. Feel more okay leaving the system on even when I'm not home. Mine also seems to be inaccurate for sensing the level - though I wonder if that represents air bubbles still trapped somewhere in the...

    Gigabyte AORUS FO48U 48" 4K 120Hz OLED

So based on Gsync Compatible not working over DisplayPort for them, seems like Rtings was using the F05 beta firmware. Interesting that the vivid mode actually does seem to have similar brightness numbers to the LG C1 (and brighter at 2%), but the "real scene" brightness is significantly lower.

    Gigabyte AORUS FO48U 48" 4K 120Hz OLED

They might be taking LFC into account? The EDID itself reports 40-120Hz on F04 and earlier. On F05 Beta, the displayport reports 24 - 120Hz (but at least for me that doesn't actually work), and HDMI still reports 40 - 120Hz.

What is the absolute best monitor for gaming right now? I've been away for a long time...

Having had a Kuro myself (well it was my dads since I was still a kid then), I have a very hard time believing someone could be satisfied with a plasma and then end up hating OLED and preferring an lcd.

You realize until fairly recently, no display got as bright as the OLEDs currently do right? We all managed to use those displays in our offices and homes without issue. I still watch TV and play games in the daylight with my curtains open and lights on. I just don’t point those light sources...

What is the absolute best monitor for gaming right now? I've been away for a long time...

Not everyone plays games all the time, but this thread specifically is asking about the best gaming displays. In any case, seems like your argument is that if you have a living space that is horribly setup for a TV, then a worse TV might give you a more visible, but still pretty shitty end...

What is the absolute best monitor for gaming right now? I've been away for a long time...

As long as you’re not playing on the surface of the sun, an OLED panel is more than bright enough. The response time and contrast make it far superior to any LCD offering IMO. Burn in is an eventuality, but should take years to become noticeable.

    Gigabyte AORUS FO48U 48" 4K 120Hz OLED

A work around for the Gsync issue is to go into CRU and raise the lower limit of the VRR range to at least 40. That's what previous firmwares had it set to. Hopefully Gigabyte can fix it in the non-beta firmware (either by raising it back to 40 or changing whatever else is needed in the firmware...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

Curious, what video card do you have? On my FO48U, 24Hz is an option now, but when I try actually selecting it, the display goes blank. Using a 3090 on that system via DisplayPort. But interestingly when I hook up my mac, 24Hz actually works. So that makes me wonder if the nVidia drivers are...

    Gigabyte AORUS FO48U 48" 4K 120Hz OLED

Depends on the monitor. I find some monitors, including this one, tend to get a bit of a flicker as the refresh rate drops below 50. Apparently the gamma can shift a bit at different refresh rates. If I limit the VRR range from 60 - 120, that's still a wide enough range to to allow LFC without...

    Gigabyte AORUS FO48U 48" 4K 120Hz OLED

So I think that might be a difference in the data field AMD and nVidia use to determine the VRR range. In the CTA-861 extension block, there's a separate "FreeSync" datafield that defines the range as 40 - 120Hz, but the actual range limits in the EDID are now set to 24 - 120 Hz instead of 40 -...

LG to make a 42" OLED panel in 2021!

At that point why not just run a custom resolution? With the OLED having true blacks it’s not that different than having the top and bottom cut off. And the desk space used would be about the same anyway

Both work As far as ghosting - I can't say there's zero ghosting, but it seems to be less. Gigabyte AORUS FO48U 48" 4K 120Hz OLED

One change I noticed with this latest firmware is that the VRR range seems to be 24 - 120Hz now (instead of 40 - 120 Hz) per the EDID. However the monitor doesn't seem to like that very much, I get some out of range errors if the framerate drops too low for a cutscene or such. Bumping the...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

This happened to one of the guys on the FO48U thread. Seems like sometimes flashing can cause the EDID to get corrupted. I think he found that setting a custom EDID allowed it to work again. Presumably Gigabyte has a means to flash the EDID on these monitors, maybe their customer service can...
