Go with the cheapest most reputable seller. If it has warranty get that.
If it's Asus or EVGA lookup the serial.
Also, I'd double check any rtx 2080 ti, but particularly if it's below 900.
I had a strix and it was nice.
You can MTP it when you get a water block, but based on what I was seeing on my core, I was almost temp limited on hotspot. It doesn't really matter though, since I don't run any overclocks while gaming. lol.
3080 lhr models are selling for the same price or a bit more than reference 6900xt's. Those mine at high power and do not even mine faster than 6900xt's.
As for the 6800xt/6900xt, yea, just spend the extra 100 if you are not buying at amd msrp (which is only sold at amd nowadays).
When overclocked, I hit max hot spot in a warm/semi hot room (furmark). During normal gaming, it's exactly as suspected. Low 90's on the hotspot. It's like the thermal material doesn't keep up at max power.
However, you are not wrong about the reference card waterblock options. Easy to find.
Your stock settings uses more power than the default reference rx 6900xt at max power slider. That's not to say they will hit your clocks, but just saying.
In my case, the stock cooler isn't going to cool enough to really go past the slightly less than 300 watts on core at max slider. So...
@1440p, you can play metro exodus enhanced edition and control without dlss with a 3080. With metro you can use a 3070/2080ti at 1440p. Is it twitch speed friendly, no, but it's still easily playable for a single player game (a few spots are rough, in metro one particular spot is when your...
I have the reference 6900 xt. My previous rtx 2080ti/rtx 3070 had better or about the same rtx performance. It's obvious why all of the amd sponsored rtx titles generally use low hanging rtx fruit.
My previous rtx 3080 absolutely destroyed the 6900xt in most rtx titles. In cases where it did...
Yea, I got that as well.

I have zero problems with the change. I think it should have been implemented sooner. It means I might not get a 3080 ti ft3 ultra hybrid, but, I'm still ok with the change. The worst that can happen is, I get to stick with the card I have.
It seldom, and I mean seldom doesn't work in nvidia control panel. I have about 20 games installed, it only didn't work in one. It's nothing compared to amd drivers, almost none of the windowed mode configs worked (I think 2). When it comes to AMD, I use afterburner.
