Activision Blizzard agrees to pay $18 million to settle EEOC probe

That's... not true at all - in this case, or in many other cases that are settled outside the court. Because that's exactly what they'd be doing in this case? Just based on public information alone, even if you decide you only believe 10% of it, fighting it would certainly be a pretty bad...

Need advice on the best way to handle e-mail

This made me curious. Assuming you meant https://forum.manjaro.org/ ... I just went there and signed up, and the email came through (to my ancient hotmail account) just fine within moments.

How does Linux decide if a drive is removable?

In that case I'd completely stop using remmina for that, and would simply setup real file sharing on the linux box. Setup an NFS share, and mount it where ever you want. Ez pz.

How does Linux decide if a drive is removable?

I mean more of like, what you are trying to do overall. Like, what is the reason you're wanting to share a drive, regardless of using remmina's sharing setup or not

How does Linux decide if a drive is removable?

That's sharing a folder between the client and the remote system, isn't it? Wondering if we're all talking about different things here...

How does Linux decide if a drive is removable?

Isn't remmina just an RDP/SSH/VNC all-in-one client? I'm failing to see how it's relevant here. :)

Literally type `cat /etc/fstab` in terminal. Then highlight, left click to copy, and paste here.

Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

So system load is causing the bug? It can't calculate the "torpedo firing", but, it can calculate it's hit box, collision, and damage. Let's take a step back. You seem to know - or at least act like you know - that certain things are absolutely getting fixed with new features. How do you know this?
  11. E

Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

Oh helllll no. You have an entire board of tech debt and bugs, and you put people to working on those. If you squash bugs BEFORE feature complete, you don't carry it forward. The IDEAL situation is to complete with no bugs, or as few and low impacting ones as possible. You do NOT wait til...

Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

It's also not "sexy" and they can't sell it, so, it's clear why CIG doesn't work on it at all currently. Need to keep the grift up for as long as they can, then they'll ship it with a lot of bugs intact, and the bootlickers will defend it regardless.

S:C has... let's say 1000 bugs right now. They resolve 100 of them. So, they are left with 900. FancyNewFeature is released and adds 200 bugs. They have 1100 bugs. Or. S:C has 1000 bugs right now. FancyNewFeature is release and adds 200 bugs. They have 1200 bugs now. This is the very basics...

    paging in operating system

Answering questions is fine :). That's certainly a large reason this forum exists. You're just asking a LOT of questions around a specific general topic, and I feel something a little more guided - like a class or book - would benefit you greatly.

    paging in operating system

All of your threads are curiously questions right out of basic CS level college courses. You'd probably do well to either pay attention in class if that's the case, or read any intro CS level books to get your answers. If you have an actual end goal with all these questions, a number of us can...

Samsung 850 EVO issues - can't read from drive in any OS

Ah, I gave up on this in the end. Every I/O op to the drive failed. Another colleague told me about ddrescue - I tried that and it wasn't able to recover a single block. My guess was something in the controller itself just totally shit itself, but likely the storage blocks were fine.

I'll pretty much throw down on any poor dev team and game that gets launched. You also sit here and constantly give us stuff to reply to. It's been awhile since such a fanboy of something so trash has been so vocal, so the engagement provides a good break from the day and a few good laughs...

Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

I actually think they're changing a significant database schema - which, this far into the dev cycle is... insane. Some of the excuses for doing it - such as needing to see how the economy grows organically - certainly don't make much sense. They should be able to model that out extremely well...

Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

Uhhh point where I did any moaning? I said it's expected and funny, cos, it is. None of that is a "moan". I'm just gonna uninstall now cos I gave it a run for a few weeks again, and, I have better games to play.

Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

This is kind of hilarious, but, it's really to be expected. It's absolutely not Brilliant by any definition of the word. Gonna uninstall and maybe try it again in another year. Maybe it'll be slightly better next summer.

Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

You keep sayiing this, but it is not supporting your stance. In fact it is supporting everyone else's. If you F up so badly that you need to "reset", that's pretty bad and still doesn't mean you get to say "Oh it's only been in dev 4 years". It hasn't, it's bee 11. They collected a TON of money...

Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

It really doesn't matter if it was 3rd party devs or not. Dev started, and, it's still on going. Most companies, especially software dev studios, aren't retaining much staff for 10+ years at this point. People picking up projects now aren't the same folks who started them. So, all in all, it's...

Windows 10 not allowing me to login

What exactly did you do to allow remote registry? Did you also change any registry keys? You should be able to boot (off USB) to a recovery console where you can open regedit for your Windows install and revert any changes you made.

Windows 11 leak reveals new UI, Start menu, and more (UPDATE - added source for Windows 10 retirement date)

Sometimes going from beta -> GA version is just a massive "update" that gets done, too. I just don't know how it'll go this time.

Windows 11 leak reveals new UI, Start menu, and more (UPDATE - added source for Windows 10 retirement date)

11 is still Fast Ring beta. There isn't any guarantee that there will be a path to GA/released 11 from that. You can install 11 directly now, just keep that in mind.

Windows 11 leak reveals new UI, Start menu, and more (UPDATE - added source for Windows 10 retirement date)

What you view as "inconvenience" and "hurdles", I simply view as "something new". There isn't an OS out there that doesn't go through changes over time. Things in life change... people can choose to be a stick in the mud, act childish, throw a fit and slow down everyone else, or, they can just...

Samsung 850 EVO issues - can't read from drive in any OS

I have an apparently dead-ish 850 Evo in my hands. This previously, in another system, was in use as the boot drive for a Win10 install. As far as I know it was GPT, and only partitioned however the windows installer would partition it (no manual partitioning). A few weeks ago, the computer...

    Mixed physical servers in cluster?

Mixing AMD and Intel in the same cluster is generally not a good idea. In fact, I don't even think it'll allow you to add them to a single cluster (been awhile since I've played with legacy VM type stuff). At least you'll want to have an AMD cluster and an Intel cluster. You didn't really give...
