SnowRunner - I can play it streamed from my desktop while I spend time with the wife and newborn.

Steam Turns 18 YO Today - Rolled Out: Sept. 12 2003

Jan 1, 2004. I think it was to download and install CS updates and I could not stand that I had to use it.

    Psychonauts 2 announced, crowdfunding started.

I’m glad to hear Double Fine didn’t phone it in. Psychonauts is an all time great game and it would have been a shame to follow it up with something subpar. The milkman has completed his route.

I'm looking for a comfortable/ergonomic computer chair for my current setup (and neck/back pain)

If you don’t have physical limitations preventing you from doing so: lifting, including deadlifts, face pulls, and other strengthening exercises can help relieve issues by improving your muscles ability to maintain healthy positions for longer. stretching - pigeon pose and Sphinx will target...

Black Ops III had a co-op capable campaign. Story driven co-op FPS is quite niche.

What to do with very old PC games

Keep or give to friends you know will keep them and not toss them. I have boxes for older games along with the manuals and discs, and regret not having the boxes for a bunch more (FreeSpace 2 stings, especially).

If it’s free to me I’ll check it out. The original Quake is my favorite out of the series.

    Games you've beaten in 2021.

In order of completion with one game "done" because I spent 6 hours in it and it never got better (Jade Empire): Shadowrun: Dragonfall Pyre Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak WH40k: Mechanicus Arx Fatalis Star Control: Origins Dungeon of the Endless Thief: The Dark Project Thief: The Metal Age...

    Orcs must Die 3

I liked the original OMD and never did wrap up OMD2. I had been playing it coop with someone and it just didn't click for us for whatever reason. Tentative interest.

    Doom Eternal

Yeah, the music in 2016 was much better with quite a few memorable tracks.

    Doom Eternal

Credits just rolled on TAG part 2. That was much shorter than part 1. Arena design was still good and the escalation arenas were quite enjoyable on Ultra-Nightmare. Combat tuning definitely felt a bit too easy with the hammer mechanic regenerating massive amounts of HP in one fell move and easy...

What are you nerds playing this weekend?

Doom Eternal The Ancient Gods part 2 and Gears Tactics which went on the backburner while I mainlined Doom Eternal and TAG part 1.
  14. silentsod

    Doom Eternal

The combat arenas and pacing in TAG part 1 stayed consistently above the vanilla campaign. That final boss' final stage was rough on me, though. Sheez. I can't say I'm a fan of the "walk slowly while you use this one weapon to do this specific trick" mechanic. Most of the fights it kinda worked...

    Doom Eternal

A follow up - having completed the main game and starting The Ancient Gods. Wow, the arena design is far and away better in TAG. I usually have some time to look at the arena and get an idea of routes before I enter it. There's a lot more jump pads to send you cross arena which were a staple in...

What are you nerds playing this weekend?

I may play through the Doom Eternal expansions as the credits are rolling on the campaign right now.

    Doom Eternal

I'm closing in on the later part of the game and have gotten more used to the updated mechanics. It's a decent shift from the prior game in that you're in charge of your own ongoing resource generation as the primary source instead of working the arena over for supplies. Enemies seem generally...

What are you nerds playing this weekend?

I wrapped Ghostrunner and am moving to Doom Eternal and Gears Tactics. I will probably end up sucked into Doom even if I feel a little weird about the low ammo counts at first blush.

    Doom Eternal

I'm running at 144Hz and being able to maintain frames above that makes for an incredibly smooth experience. Enjoying this card quite a bit!

    Doom Eternal

Stability issue seems to have been RivaTuner Statistics Server related. Turned it off and it's been smooth sailing since then. I'll keep tabs on it but good to know for now. Cranking 200+fps with RT and everything maxed. Great to see id put out such a high quality implementation whereas, say...

    Doom Eternal

I picked this up on sale and installed today. RTX implementation is phenomenal performance wise and reflections are razor sharp in puddles, nicely mottled on rough surfaces, and quite believable through and through. 1440p ultra nightmare settings and 100+fps consistently on a 3080Ti (DLSS off)...

What are you nerds playing this weekend?

I wrapped it up and overall felt meh about it. the gap between games is long enough I can tell you that I loved the original Dishonored and did two or three play throughs. This one just did not click or resonate in the same manner. I also did not find the scenarios themselves to reach the same...

What are you nerds playing this weekend?

I'm still chewing through Dishonored 2. Not sure why it hasn't clicked the way the first game (or Prey) has. I think I have this mission and just one more to go before wrapping up the game. It seems like they designed it for multiple run throughs and I don't foresee that happening. Once I get...

    3080 Ti EVGA Notify Queue

~40 seconds out on the EVGA queue but I got dinged in the Shuffle for a 3080 Ti FTW3. I'll be removing my notify for that product. Fortunately, it was just bundled with a PSU and I could actually use a spare since I used my old spare as a freebie in my dad's build.

What are you nerds playing this weekend?

Dishonored 2. Corvo being voiced is jarring and he just does not shut up at the beginning of this game. I loved the first one so I’m hoping the Thief but power fantasy vibes are still present.

    3080 Ti EVGA Notify Queue

The queue system got my dad his card for his MSFS2020 build. If EVGA had disallowed the forum post to get early access and limited it to people with EVGA cards registered to their accounts it would have been much nicer for those who have already given them money. I think EVGA is the best AIB...

What are you nerds playing this weekend?

Still playing Styx: Master of Shadows which is fine enough. About halfway through the game - burning out a bit on gaming having clocked over 40 games since the first of the year. Plus the weather's getting nice and I have actual yard work to do. Otherwise, It Takes Two with the wife. Glad they...

    Metro 2033 is over hyped.

When I was still playing CSGO I had an autoexec file to ensure the settings were all exactly as I wanted including buy scripts. I simply see it as part of the territory when it comes to PC gaming. It's a boon and a curse. If it really bothers a user then fine, and not everyone is equally...
