Well I thought I was "settling" for a Radeon 6800 as that is the only card I could find on stock on Newegg and snag before thousands of card hunters took it away from me. I was WRONG.
This video card is BLAZING fast!
It's a 100% FPS improvement for me in Shadow of the Tombraider over my...
The used 2080 Super seems like a pretty decent value if you can't get your hands on an MSRP 3060 Ti.
The overall performance should be on par, with a bit of an edge in rasterization to the 2080S and probably an edge to ray tracing to the 3060Ti.
Pretty cool that they give you a free mouse mat with the 1k graphics card... BUT will it run Crysis at 4k? ;)
PS Every gamer will die a little inside if you tell us you bought a 6900XT for your son to run games at 1080p, :P
Yup a 5600x. Will probably give a better boost than a block. You can upgrade over time though.
I’m pairing the 6800 with a 5900x so once I got that going I should be getting to my 120hz 1440p monitor refresh cap.
TBH if you insist on Intel I don't see why you don't buy a 9900K instead.
The performance is nearly identical to the 10700k and you can get it on sale for just $320.
Of course for single threaded performance the 5600X will blow away both at $299 price point as well.
As far as Intel favored...
I mean it’s really impressive that you can overclock the hell out of this 6800xt card and beat a stock 3090. Realistically the scalperbots will gobble this up and you’ll see it on eBay going for $1500. 😂
My 5900X from B&H will be arriving Monday! I guess it just depends on how early you got into the queue.
In other news I've seen a LOT of stock alerts for the 5800x while I was waiting for that confirmation from B&H so there should be plenty of those available.
Ryzen 9's might be a little...
Newegg dropped the EVGA FTW 3090 today. I flirted with it in the cart but said naaah my budget cannot go that far!
Knowing my luck the order would not have completed anyways. LOL.
Also Best Buy dropped a bunch of 3080s today. With AMD's scarcity of 6000 series cards people are just buying...
Umm you're going to end up past the usual 30 day return date on the 3090. I think 6900XT doesn't launch till Dec 8th IF you are lucky enough to snag one on launch day. Why not just enjoy the 3090 since it's already in hand?
Real World Results: People who camped overnight at Microcenter aren't even getting the 6800XT.
There's no need to defend the worst PAPER LAUNCH since the 3000 series. Which was pretty damn terrible. AMD has managed to do WORSE!
So how much does AMD pay you to SHILL? It's been reported worldwide that AMD stock was SHIT on launch day.
Seriously your dogged fandom makes you look irrational in this instance. There's no Defending AMD for their FAILURE to LAUNCH!!
LOL Watch on Youtube or ANY Tech Channel! It's OBVOUS nobody can buy these EFFING cards! Newegg OOS instantly! MicroCenter, people wait in line overnight and come out with a 3080 or 3090 instead of a 6000 series GPU. Get your head out of the SAND!!
Skip to 7:50 for overall benchmark...
The performance numbers came out...
-6800 XT is slightly slower than the 3080 but within 6% overall. Fine.
-The 6800 is not that much faster than the 3070 to justify the $80 price increase. Awkward!
-Overall the prize is the 6800XT which made a huge performance jump over the 5700XT but...
5600X + B550 motherboard with 32GB of RAM will make a huge difference that you can feel. I can't tell you how much more FPS you will see but the responsiveness and smoothness will be a LOT better.
You could potentially make this upgrade for just $650. 5600X $300, B550 Aorus Master $250, 32GB...
So did anyone manage to buy a 3080 today? I was asleep. LOL But I dunno how fast they actually flew off the "virtual shelves."
"One of the better independent metrics I have seen is the number of posted benchmarks. There are a lot for Ampere given where it is in its lifecycle- too many for...
So how much does Nvidia pay you to SHILL?
Seriously the youtube channels have run the numbers on the stock availability. For example there were only 1000 units of 3000 series available for the entire UK. Yeah it's an EFFING Paper launch. Deal with it.
Nvidia made a mistake entrusting Ampere...
Yes I believe that the AIBs will get 6900XT chips but not until later. So AMD will be the only one selling them on launch day. The question is how will the 6900XT hold up to the challenge of the 3080 Ti. Right now it looks like the 6900XT is a WAY better value than the 3090 being priced $500...
I mean yes, the Founders Edition models are the best value because not only do they have the lowest price, but they are well engineered and made with high quality components.
The problem is that Nvidia FE cards are in super short supply. And Nvidia has gotten to the point where they have given...
You also have to realize that $999 will be the base price of the FE model. AIB models tend to be $25-50 more because of "custom cooling" solutions, upgraded components etc.
If people buy the AIB model "upgraded" versions, you're gonna need to add an extra $100 or more too.
So an AIB 3080 TI...
