The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Performance & IQ Preview @ [H]

My GPUs utilization is under 50% with v-sync on or off.

Disabled. Wouldn't affect the lousy GPU utilization regardless under SLI. Good point.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Performance & IQ Preview @ [H]

I've found SLI support very lousy. I'm running TRI-SLI GTX 580, using the latest beta drivers w/Skyrim profile. I've even tried tweaking the Skyrim profile in Nvidia Inspector. Basically MSI Afterburner reports an average 40% GPU utilization for each GPU. A well optimized SLI game would be...

    Dell U3011 coming soon.

My point was that at 100% it just doesn't seem as bright as when I first got it. When I first got it anything above 50% was too bright, but now anything less than 100% seems too dim. I was curious if any other long time owners have noticed loss of brightness. I guess I should have measured the...

    Dell U3011 coming soon.

I've had my u3011 for about 7 months now. Have been very impressed with it. Recently I got an iPad 2, and the intense brightness of the iPad 2 (at 100%) made me realize how dim my u3011 was. Yet, I seem to recall when I got my u3011 the brightness was so extreme at 100% I had to turn it down to...

Microsoft Just Wants IE6 to Die

Haha, I feel your pain. My company is exactly this, except once I became the head IT guy I installed Firefox on all the computers. The computers are still pieces of 7-year old crap with 512mb of ram that the company doesn't want to invest to replace, but at least they have a modern browser.

Microsoft Just Wants IE6 to Die

Also, lol at Japan/Korea's high usage of IE6. Would have thought the vastly superior bandwidth speeds they have would make them want better browsers. Or maybe it's the opposite? Maybe their superior speeds make them not realize how slow IE6 is.

Microsoft Just Wants IE6 to Die

Only 2.9% for U.S.? I still thought it was much higher. My faith in human kind (or America) has been restored! I guess I should stop putting so much effort into making my web pages IE6 compliant for local companies.

    FS: ASUS Xonar D2X

My good old D2X. It's worked great for the last few years, but with my recent upgrade to TRI-SLI I don't have any space in my rig for the card. Not really an audiophile anyway, I can live with chipset audio. The accessories pictured are the only ones that will be provided with this card. I'm...

Will the GTX580 get a price cut soon?

Depending on the price of the GTX 590 or Radeon 6990 it could drop. If it doesn't, I doubt it'll drop price until the flagship 600 series card. (or whatever series Kepler is)

What Sata 6 controller for P67?

I assume all boards have at least 2 Intel SATA 3.0 ports, considering it's the P67 Intel chipset. Edit: What strikes me is which boards have Intel Gigabit controllers. I haven't seen all P67 boards, but have only noticed upper-end ASUS boards with Intel Gigabit and of course Intel's own...

    Sabertooth P67 - Anyone buying?

I'm not sure a fan would fit inside there with the lid closed, the Northbridge should already have some sort of flush passive heatsink on it.

    Sabertooth P67 - Anyone buying?

I didn't think about that, but then the fan would be visible and the clean passive look of my water cooled motherboard tarnished. :(

    Sabertooth P67 - Anyone buying?

I tend to believe the military-grade certifications, [H]ardOCP has done Sabertooth reviews and they've talked about said certifications. I linked the P67 Sabertooth certifications in my first post, they look legit. The smaller ones (that aren't bulging) are solid state. The theory...

    Sabertooth P67 - Anyone buying?

Yea, but given how rigorously tested to military-grade those caps are, I don't think they're going to burst. My main concern is dust.. because dust could flow and collect under the shroud.

    Gigabyte G1-Killer line (first images)

Catering to modern FPS themes. :P I want a motherboard that caters to RPGs. It should be colored blue or red with heatsinks in the shape of swords and wands. Ok, maybe not.

ASUS P8P67 WS Revolution Motherboard Review @ [H]

Well, it's not on the ASUS website yet.. I kind of doubt it will be available the 9th like most Sandy Bridge stuff. http://www.asus.com/ProductGroup2.aspx?PG_ID=mKyCKlQ4oSEtSu5m

ASUS P8P67 WS Revolution Motherboard Review @ [H]

I'm probably just confused here, but nearly every P67 motherboard I've seen claims SLI at 8x for each card. Is this board claiming SLI at 16x for each card? What does 2 x16 or x8 mean?

When SB drops, what motherboard to get for 2600k?

I much prefer BIOS overclocking to Windows based. I'm die-hard optimizer when it comes to start-up items, background processes/services, etc. My task tray is a ghost town. I've seen plenty of people get above 5Ghz through UEFI. I mean, at most the only thing the Windows OC utility does is the...

Get Em While They're Hot!! 580s

Gonna be frank, I don't follow the GPU price scene that closely, but I don't think flagship GPUs ever drop price during their lifetime as flagship. I remember just before the 580s came out the 480s were still $500. In other words, I don't see the 580s ever dropping price until...

    Are you skipping 2500K/2600K?

LGA 775, will be upgrading. Massive improvements. :D I upgrade every other architecture (~every 3-4 years). I think anyone sidegrading to 1055 from 1366 should seriously reconsider (unless you're wealthy). You bought an enthusiast processor and are going to trade it for a mainstream...

    Intel Sandy Bridge 2600K and 2500K Processors @ [H]

    MSI P67A-GD65 LGA1155 Chipset Motherboard Review @ [H]

Agreed. I've bought from Newegg since their establishment in 2001. Superior convenience (normally 1-2 day delivery with 3-day UPS), great RMA (at least for me), and competitive pricing. As you mentioned, I've only seen Microcenter challenge them on MSRP. I do my research, visit other retailers...

    Sandy Bridge Reviews Released!

Technically that's the biggest difference, especially for gamers. There's also the 2MB extra of L3 cache--which again is probably mostly useful for people who would make use of Hyper-threading. e.g. CAD, encoding, video editing, etc. I use my PC for my day job, which includes much encoding...

    Sandy Bridge Reviews Released!

Hyper-threading requires a little more Vcore, meaning you can squeeze a little more overclock with Hyper-threading disabled. That's how it is now. I have no idea if Sandy Bridge will be the same because all the overclocks are pretty tight. Hyper-threading is useful for encoding and media...
