Samsung stops LCD panel manufacturing by end of this year

Eh I don't think it was MINI LED that had a hard time being made in smaller screens, isn't that MICRO LED? But yes you are correct while laptop screens have nice displays while still being decently priced, desktop monitors are something else entirely. Which is why I am switching to the 48" CX...

Sweet Baby Jeebus Alienware 55" 4k120 OLED Displayport

Well 4k120Hz is suppose to work on the CX....but at 4:2:0 chroma. Still better than 60Hz regardless and something I'd gladly live with for a few months.

Sweet Baby Jeebus Alienware 55" 4k120 OLED Displayport

Maybe the 48" will be delayed but I doubt it as the 65" is already available from Bestbuy.

Thoughts on how bad the monitor market will be effected by the pandemic ?

As long as my CX OLED doesn't get delayed I could care less what happens to monitors :D

    LG 48CX

Apparently DLSS 2.0 is actually very good, although it did take quite a while to finally reach a point where it's useable. I would imagine a lot of people are going to be pairing up this bad boy with a 3080 Ti class gpu so in theory we should already have the power to do ~90/100fps average in...

Review out on the asus vg279qm

I picked up one of the first gen ELMB sync monitors which was the VG27BQ and it was just awful with absurd amounts of crosstalk despite being a TN panel. This 2nd attempt at ELMB sync seems to yield better results and it even uses an IPS panel instead. I am definitely tempted to try it out.

    LG 48CX

Lol at how the benefits of FALD gets nerfed once game mode is enabled on the Sammy. Now the argument of brighter HDR/more saturated colors on QLED almost gets turned into a moot point once you factor game mode in.

    Samsung 2015 Monitor Killer ---> LG GX / CX 2020 G-sync Monitor / TV - Thoughts?

Plus some people who are going to be running spreadsheets all day then complain when they get burn in lol.

    LG 38GL950G - 37.5" 3840x1600/G-Sync/175Hz

Ok this whole idea of response times being tied to contrast ratio needs to stop. If this was truly the case then how do you explain how the new MSI 240Hz IPS panel delivers TN level response times while doing >1000:1 CR?

    Thoughts on 240hz IPS Monitors

So according to TFTC the Asus VG259QM will most likely use this same AUO IPS panel as the MSI monitor but will have a 280Hz (OC) refresh rate and ELMB-SYNC. Not really holding my breath for it though because I already tried the first iteration of ELMB-SYNC with the VG27BQ and it had absurd...

    LG 38GL950G - 37.5" 3840x1600/G-Sync/175Hz

Pretty sure he'd cover that under the uniformity section of the review.

    Thoughts on 240hz IPS Monitors

Wow I must say that MSI monitor is actually pretty impressive. If they made a 1440p version of that I would probably upgrade from my Omen X27 to that.

    LG 38GL950G - 37.5" 3840x1600/G-Sync/175Hz

Did you even watch the video? 17:18 he mentions a noticeable vignette effect that's noticeable even during normal usage.

    360hz Asus Rog Swift

Lol that is because many people on this forum are so obsessed with 4k maximum settings and some even claim that they see "absolutely no point" in reducing graphics settings in order to get higher fps for competitive games, it's quite ridiculous. Anyways while I appreciate the boundaries being...

Any improvement on the black side for the past 5 years?

As good as 120Hz can possibly be. The only way to lower input lag and increase motion clarity even further is to up the refresh rate but no display connection allows for that right now at 4k. Although BFI is an alternative to increasing motion clarity without higher Hz but that cannot be used at...

Any improvement on the black side for the past 5 years?

What do you mean by OLED is not there yet, not really? When it comes to MicroLED and Dual Layer LCD yes those are not there yet but OLED is now here and ready. LG CX with 4k120Hz gsync HDR support and coming in a price point well below LCD alternatives that have the same ballpark specs (4k...

    PG32UQX - ASUS 32" 4K 144 Hz HDR1400 G-Sync Ultimate

What the hell are you talking about? This monitor isn't an OLED monitor using a JOLED panel, it's a "Mini LED" aka technically just a plain jane IPS LCD with a measely 1152 zone FALD.

    LG 48CX

That doesn't make any sense. How many people who are buying these TV's is going to be mainly using it for PC gaming? A large amount sure but probably nowhere near the actual total sales numbers. Charging even higher prices for "gsync compatibility" when in the end not a huge percentage of the...

    LG 48CX

Nah what I meant by "it" was all forms of upscaling, not just integer scaling specifically. The degradation in texture quality is obvious once you step down from non native 4k whether you use the in game engine upscaler, TV upscaler, or even DLSS. And yeah integer scaling from 4k would just mean...

    LG 48CX

I have tried all forms of scaling ranging from integer scaling to in game resolution scaling to built in TV scaling and no option looked good enough on a 55" display. Heck even on my Acer X27 it doesn't look good enough because I am now sitting much closer to my display and can notice the...

    LG 48CX

For me it's just the size that doesn't quite work out. 48" is still too big as a desktop monitor for me personally so I'll be hanging onto my Acer X27 for that but all gaming/movie watching will be done on the OLED of course.

    LG 48CX

Lol the fact that people would actually pay that kinda money for an LCD in 2020 after seeing what the CX offers is absolutely hilarious.

    PG32UQX - ASUS 32" 4K 144 Hz HDR1400 G-Sync Ultimate

https://levvvel.com/low-framerate-compensation/ As for the whole Exclusive Fullscreen, Freesync now works in borderless window but I'm not sure about HDMI VRR although I see no reason why it couldn't be made to work.
  27. M

    PG32UQX - ASUS 32" 4K 144 Hz HDR1400 G-Sync Ultimate

Yes but will have LFC just like Gsync. Most gsync monitors are 30-X Hz but are always guaranteed to have LFC while many Freesync/Adaptive sync monitors don't.
  28. M

    PG32UQX - ASUS 32" 4K 144 Hz HDR1400 G-Sync Ultimate

Since the LG CX is certified to be gsync compatible it must mean it supports LFC so I don't really see the gsync module having any advantage in that regard.

    PG32UQX - ASUS 32" 4K 144 Hz HDR1400 G-Sync Ultimate

I don't think the blooming looks that bad in person but let's be honest here even 1152 dimming zones is simply nowhere near enough to make blooming completely go away. Perhaps that Innolux panel that's being developed with over 1 million zones will do the trick. This monitor ain't the one.

    LG 48CX

B7 owner here too. 2+ years and no burn in problems, just pure OLED eye candy. I'll be using the 48" CX until LG decides to make a 40-43".

    LG 38GL950G - 37.5" 3840x1600/G-Sync/175Hz

I think it's going to be longer than that because the release of new consoles should raise the baseline for system requirements with the next generation of games. While many people can get away with a 1080 Ti at 4k for today's games, the next generation of games will demand much more.
  33. M

    Integer scaling, anybody tried it?

No eh? Sorry but I have to disagree. Using in game resolution scaling on my LG 55 TV makes games like RDR2 look much better as opposed to using integer scaling to drop it all the way down to 1080p .

The perfect 4K 43” monitor! Soon! Asus XG438Q ROG

It isn't all in my head, I personally do play better if I get higher fps. BUT I will say this doesn't apply to everyone, some of my buddies will perform no better playing at 240fps vs playing at 60fps so they prefer to just turn up those graphics settings as well since >60fps isn't benefiting...

Sweet Baby Jeebus Alienware 55" 4k120 OLED Displayport

It means you will get VRR over HDMI on current RTX cards, BUT you will be limited to 4k60Hz. No 4k120Hz until we get HDMI 2.1 GPUs.

Is ghosting in VA panels this bad?

https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/aoc-24g2u-24g2/ 24" 144Hz IPS panel. Seems like a pretty solid monitor overall with good IPS contrast (1400:1) and good motion clarity with the strongest overdrive setting actually being usable. Maybe give this one a shot? And make sure you get a C24G2 and not a...
