AMD Announces BIOS Fix for Ryzen 3000 Boost Clocks, Update Comes September 10

"We closely monitor community feedback on our products and understand that some 3rd gen AMD Ryzen users are reporting boost clock speeds below the expected processor boost frequency." It's not "some" users. It's the majority of the users reporting below expected boost frequency.

    3900X Temperature Reading Help!

Thanks for the insight. I might try the undervolting again if I feel my temperature is bad. For now, I'm good. At 26C ambient temperature, my 3900X does 85C~86C running Aida FPU.

    3900X Temperature Reading Help!

With the 1st 3900X I had at the time of release, even -0.025 offset immediately crashed my system upon running Geekbench. In lieu of offsetting, undervolting didn't crash the system, but resulted in lower benchmark score, up to about 1,000 points. Regarding the temperature reporting issue...

Well, 3900X is not like 3800X. Tried 4.4ghz @1.37 @1.38 @1.40. All BSOD. I'm kinda sad, but I wasn't going to do any permanent ocing in the first place.

Paper Launch for AMD Ryzen 9 3900X

It seems like AMD pumping out more 3900X. I was one of the lucky one picked up one on Monday. I couldn't wait and bought a 3800X over the past weekend. Then I saw 3900x back in stock on their website around 9am. I got there around 10:30 am, and there were only 6~7 left in the display case...

Who's Happy So Far with Ryzen 3000 Series?

For gaming or signle core apps 9900K@5ghz is the winner. For all multi-thread non-gaming, 3800X stock is the winner. So they trade blow. However, it's a different story if both CPU's run at stock or equal mhz.

Who's Happy So Far with Ryzen 3000 Series?

Perhaps, the game depends more on the graphic card than the cpu at that resolution? Try the benchmark at 1080P instead.

Who's Happy So Far with Ryzen 3000 Series?

If you're a hardcore gamer, Intel is still the way to go. I owned both 3800X@ stock and 9900K@5Ghz with the same setup except the cpu's and motherboards. They trade blows. Since I'm not a hardcore gamer, 10~15FPS advantage isn't an advantage anymore when I'm already hitting ~120FPS on games...

    9900K overheating on one core.

So, I've got my 9900x stable at 5Ghz (uncore at 4.9Ghz) with 1.26V. However, everytime I up the uncore to 5Ghz, the Core #5 overheats. I currently have Noctua NH-15 cooling my cpu. Will it be worth to invest on a good AIO or custom water help to tame the overheating?

Confused and potential problems with 3900x overclocking and behavior

    Ryzen 3600X ALL Core Overclock 4425Mhz DDR4 CL16 4200Mhz

There's no point overclocking Ryzen 3000, maybe except 3600X. The performance gain is very very minor. The moment you start messing with the Vcore, Ryzen 3000 starts to behave erratically. The bios still needs a lot of optimizing

    3900x issue

So I returned my 3900X and picked up a 3800X. AIDA64 with AVX2 on reports 79C at stock. Oddly, lowering Vcore causes significant performance loss. When Vcore was manually lowered to 1.275v in the bios, Geekbench scores were lower by 1000 points than when the Vcore was left at auto in the bios...

    AMD 3900X and Gigabyte X470

You got lucky. No matter what I tried, I can't get mine idle below 45c. Prime95-small causes 90c. I have the same mobo. I tried reseating many times. Also tried both H115i pro and NH-D15. The same result everytime. Vcore offset didn't work, either. I offsetted it by -0.0125. System...

    3900x issue

You're not the only one having the temperature issue. Mine also idles around 45c-55c. I tried reseating the heatsink (H115i Pro and NH-D15)so many times I ran out of the paste. I also tried off-setting the Vcore like so many suggested. It didn't work, either. My motherboard is Gigabyte X470...
