DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Yes, having multiple tiers for people who want to support the project but don't need the main product works well for other types of crowdfunded projects, but it doesn't seem to apply to cases. That's definitely not the reason the campaign failed though, that was more price and overestimating demand.

SENTRY: Console-sized gaming PC case project

I'd leave the early bird option open and just fulfill them on a first come, first serve basis once it's time to actually start taking people's money. There's a big difference between the number of people who register interest on a form (since it doesn't really require any effort or commitment)...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

5mm overall length. Lian Li uses custom screws with a shallower countersink than ISO standard M3 though. It's come up a few times, best bet is to contact NCASE support: https://www.ncases.com/contact

    Silverstone SX700-LPT 700W Platinum SFX-L

Last I heard a component shortage delayed production until later this month, I'm not sure how long after that the units will be available at retail though.

    Silverstone SX700-LPT 700W Platinum SFX-L

Considering how much we nit-pick about the noise of the SX600-G and SX500-LG, they're probably taking their time to make sure it's solid, at least that's my hope. I talked to Tony a few days ago and the SX700-LPT production was pushed back a few weeks due to a part delay. I'm not sure how long...

Kimera Industries Cerberus: The 18L, mATX, USA-made enclosure

The clips in the prototype are indeed too strong, we'll be using weaker ones for production.

Kimera Industries Cerberus: The 18L, mATX, USA-made enclosure

I've talked about this before, and it will come down to what people want. The interchangeable rear plate is better for ATX-only people, great for people who want to switch, but sucks for SFX-only. So if the majority want SFX-only then the current design will stay. We'll be sending a survey out...

Kimera Industries Cerberus: The 18L, mATX, USA-made enclosure

The handle is optional so removing it has no effect on the base price. The machined hole in the top panel is just for the prototype, the bracket that the handle screws to wasn't quite aligned with the vent pattern in the top panel. The production design already has a solid back panel, having...

Kimera Industries Cerberus: The 18L, mATX, USA-made enclosure

Sometime soon after the campaign ends we'll send out a survey to those who did back it and start to figure out what we need to do. Even ignoring the price, Cerberus is a very niche design so I certainly wasn't expecting universal praise in the comments. I think part of the problem is we...

    Corsair SF600 600w SFX Powersupply

It's not just a matter of moving the pins around, several wires on the 24-pin and one on the PCIe are doubled on the Corsair set.

    Corsair SF600 600w SFX Powersupply

Ah sorry, my comment wasn't directed so much at FnordMan's question as it was to clarify to people reading this thread that the noise/wattage chart isn't set in stone.

    Corsair SF600 600w SFX Powersupply

I just wanted to make clear that the fan can come on even if the load is under what's on Corsair's chart if the temps are high enough. Also, I stand partially corrected on the fan controller, it's a combination of the load and temperature: The Corsair User Forums - View Single Post -...

That noise/wattage chart is just a rough estimate. The fan controller is temperature based and not load based.

Oh nice, I have a case mod idea that could maybe use that. I'm using the ASUS X99-M WS right now though so can't do much with its M.2 slot.

Assuming the 240mm AIO's block/tubing clear the PSU, yes that should work.

    Corsair SF600 600w SFX Powersupply

Do you have an estimate of what temperature or fan RPM the PSU is at when it starts making that noise?

Kimera Industries Cerberus: The 18L, mATX, USA-made enclosure

There will be a list of screws and their thread types before the cases ship. The non-countersunk screws are M3, the countersunk screws for the frame are UNC #4-40 because those screws need 100 degree countersinks and M3 screws aren't readily available in anything but 90 degrees.

Kimera Industries Cerberus: The 18L, mATX, USA-made enclosure

The window and handle are already options. The problem with that card and the 970 Strix is one of the side panel clips is in the way of the extended SLI finger section of the PCB. Cerberus on has clips along the top and bottom edge for the side panels so it fits just fine. Correct. A 120mm...

Backup plan is to discuss with those who have pledged and figure out what features to drop/modify in order to make a smaller production run feasible. As a note, the ASRock X99 mATX boards only have PCIe 3.0 x4 on the bottom slot so spaced SLI is not possible unless NVIDIA relaxes the x8...

    Before asking NCASE about Micro-ATX...

Keep in mind the pics are of the prototype so it has the typical prototype flaws. As far as having the IO on the top vs the front, it's really preference. I like the clean front and I've heard from other people who really like it too and I've also heard from people who hate it, there's no making...

The first line excludes the feet and rear PCI flange while the second line includes those. This is the same way the M1 and other SFF cases measure their volume. PCI slots are 20.32mm tall so subtract that from the measurement if you're talking about the 5th slot. Note: The vertical...

Kimera Industries Cerberus: The 18L, mATX, USA-made enclosure

The problem with more colors is it makes logistics more difficult due to the number of SKUs which is why we have it as a stretch goal, that way the extra funding will compensate for that extra difficulty. But having it as a more expensive tier is maybe doable, we'll consider it. 354mm is from...

Kimera Industries Cerberus: The 18L, mATX, USA-made enclosure

The windowed panel isn't as strong as the normal panel I guess but it has no effect on the overall frame rigidity. The side bracket has the biggest effect on stiffening the left side of the frame and that's why I recommend leaving the side bracket on even if nothing is attached to it. I haven't...

Kimera Industries Cerberus: The 18L, mATX, USA-made enclosure

If we do such an upgrade kit we'll make it available as an option to everyone. Here's one: The overly large cutouts in the top panel for the USB are only on the prototype. Like majic12 says, the SG09 isn't in the chart for marketing. Personally I would have put it in there because I don't...

    Silverstone SX500-LG 500W Gold SFX-L

With the cases available today that is very true, but I think it's likely SilverStone will do a mATX case that only uses SFF power supplies at some point so it makes sense to have a 800W-850W SFX-L unit as a companion product.

    Silverstone SX500-LG 500W Gold SFX-L

I have two 980s (not Ti's) on the 600W. I haven't tried dual 980 Ti's, but that'd be pushing it on 600W. The market for people who actually need a 850W SFX-L unit today is indeed very small, but I'm thinking more about the typical builder who overestimates how much wattage they need. To make...

Kimera Industries Cerberus: The 18L, mATX, USA-made enclosure

Dual 240mm rads is possible but it requires fairly compact rads and even then it's a tight fit: From the top of the CPU to the ATX PSU it's about 48mm: So I think the H220-X will fit with angled fittings, but the H220 won't.

    1. No ODD support. 2. Whether the 700W is enough for dual Pascal is unknown until we see reviews of the GTX 1080 or whatever they call it. The H110 will not fit on the front, a slim 240mm may fit with 10.5" cards: 3. A 240/280mm rad won't fit on the side with a power supply at the front. The...

    Silverstone SX500-LG 500W Gold SFX-L

For a flagship ATX power supply, I don't think that Gold-rated is good enough, but for a SFX or SFX-L unit the wattage would set it apart as a flagship, not the efficiency level if it is at least Gold. So while it'd be nice to have a Platinum or even Titanium-rated unit so it generates that...

    Silverstone SX500-LG 500W Gold SFX-L

Well, silence freaks are used to paying a premium to achieve that ultimate low-noise computer so I guess we'll have to wait and see exactly how much more it is. Hmm...the new SX650-G is 818W per liter, SFX-L is 1.03L...so when can we expect that 850W SFX-L unit? :D

    Silverstone SX500-LG 500W Gold SFX-L

Does the SX700-LPT's fan controller avoid this issue? If so, I think it'd make more sense for those who are that sensitive to noise to get the 700W if it's not too much more expensive. For a new unit, I really like the recessed modular connectors on the upcoming Corsair SF600. Except I think...

There's 83mm between the motherboard and the frame front. So a single fan should fit just fine. There's no room for the second fan though, the case isn't wide enough for a 120mm fan/rad to overhang the motherboard I've been tempted to go ATX since most of the motherboard development seems to...
