My GF cooked her 5X also. We 'narrowed' her failure (and my lackthereof) down to her use of the Facebook app of that era. I don't have FB, she does...and whenever she was using ithe app, seemingly faithfully her 5X felt like a mini nuclear reactor.
Perhaps also ironically I moved onto a Pixel...
Got my Nexus 5X (built by LG) on BlackFriday 2015 for $299.
Probably my 2nd favorite phone ever (behind HTC TouchPro 2)...and made before 'courage' took over the marketplace making everything $1000+
Sad to see them go.
I have 2 GeForce 8800 Ultras (for SLI, of course) sitting on my shelf at home. BFG Tech OEM...gotta love that lifetime warranty! Anyway, I purchased them on launch day for $900 ish (a piece!) from Newegg. Newegg had a limit of 1 per person. They happily let me purchase 2. I suspect the...
I'll try to stay on topic - if there's one thing the Pandemic has taught me is that consumers will pay substantially more for the same product.
As a Florida Resident, Disney currently charges the same price despite ~90% of the experience being cut back. At Starbucks you no longer have the DIY...
Depends on your use case. or me, it's going to take many moons to get an extra $500+ of value out of a washing machine (probably about the time I was within 6 months of the payback-period is when it would give out, knowing my life).
More people need to take the Tanzanian approach, but that's off-topic.
On topic - great way of 'getting by' for South Korea. Screen golf is also big in the winter (and other times) so this is kind of a natural fall-out.
I was watching (this week's rerun of) 'The Full Nerd' yesterday...there was some discussion that pallets of GPUs are being sold directly to miners and are never making it to the retail channel at all. They never confirmed or denied the rumors, but discussed it as a likely possibility. Seems...
About the only bit of good advice my family has given me in recent times: When you need a new washer/dryer, but buy the cheapest thing you can get your hands on because the high-end models don't last any longer than the cheap models...they're just more expensive to replace.
No, I don't think Disney is going to declare bankruptcy because I think they're going to start selling off properties (e.g. Star Wars/etc.) As I said in my previous post.
I do believe that Disney put themselves in a terrible financial position by getting suckered into paying WAY too much for...
So you get that Bob Chapek was selected as CEO to replace Bob Iger because of Chapek's reputation for ferocious cost-cutting and doing everything 'on the cheap', right?
Why do you suspect that was? Do you think Chapek was going to have a change-of-philosophy with his newfound CEOship and...
Disney does NOT have $100 billion in cash reserves.
Apple - yes. Disney, no. (and actually I think Apple is close to $200 billion...but think about that. Disney is 1/2 of Apple? After purchasing Fox, etc. No...)
edit: I just checked. Disney had $5.5 Billion in cash reserves at the end of...
There's the 10K and then there's reality. This year is Walt Disney World's Fiftieth (50) Anniversary. To celebrate, they've sealed off and ceased construction on what was to be one of their prized expansion projects commemorating the event. Not exactly indicative of an organization flush with...
I think exactly the opposite.
Disney is hurting for money. Bad.
DisneyLand (Anaheim) and Disney Cruise Line (DCL) will have been closed for a full year come March, with the other Disney Parks worldwide having been 'off and on' for the year.
They're still in the hole billions on Disney+...
I started the add-to-cart process on the AMD website...things paused and got hung up...then the site crashed for me (still can't load amd.com for that matter).
Obviously I did not complete my purchase either.
Not necessarily. For now all it really means is that you loaned B&H $799.
They can either fill your order, or refund you.
edit: And for the record, it's after 9am and I don't see any stock on Newegg, Amazon, nor AMD direct.
I'm inclined to agree. Our company wants us to be WFH right now, but allows us to come into the office if we want. I've been working in the office every day since this thing started. I really can't do WFH on a full-time basis. WFH gives me a bad psychological feeling...my mind keeps saying...
My understanding was that current consensus was that time travel was possible, but that you could only travel forwards in time - not backwards. But I do concede the hypothetical nature of the entire discussion.
Feels like I've seen this story before.
I seemed to remember being excited at the prospect of $599 AIB partner cards leading up to the launch of the 1080.
Then at launch we found out there was $100 premium for the FE version with no AIBs available.
On top of that, FE versions were as rare as...
Hoping to get an RX6000 direct from ATI.
That said, most of my hobby 'workload' these days is video editing vs gaming, and I already have a Radeon VII (which fits that bill very nicely), so it will be interesting to see of the RX6000 is actually an upgrade in that department.
