Looking for 27" 1440p monitor for mixed use. Trying to decide between three options

So I am looking at upgrading my display setup to two 1440p 27" monitors but I am having some difficulties in deciding between my options. Use - 75% Office Work, 25% Games (almost all RPG's and strategy games) After doing some research this is kinda what I've narrowed the options down to: Dell...

I freaking hate USB type C connectors.

So one thing to watch out for is lint getting trapped in the phone's socket which prevents a good connection. I thought I was going to have to get a new phone due to the connection issues I was having with my Pixel 2, but after doing some research I cleaned out the socket with a small paper...

Recommended SSD Brands for Business Laptop Upgrades

I guess my concern with Adata would be the Warranty and Support process. Have people had any experiences with them?

Yeah I was leaning towards those....Any thoughts on Micron's business lineup (1300 and 2200)?

Recommended SSD Brands for Business Laptop Upgrades

So I've started to look around for SSD's to start upgrading user's laptops, but wanted to see if there were certain brands people recommended or more importantly, avoided. I've always bought Samsungs for my personal builds, but always see HP's, Sandisk, Intel, and especially ADATA on Sale...

Site-to-Site VPN Performance good enough to run quickbooks enterprise for other locations?

I completely believe this just going through this as a part time IT guy. Too many variables to always place the blame on just one thing.

Site-to-Site VPN Performance good enough to run quickbooks enterprise for other locations?

Is this something that's unique to QB or is something that kind of stateful database would run into? We've ran Sage 50 over a VPN connection reasonably well for a while, so I wasn't sure if there was a difference.

Site-to-Site VPN Performance good enough to run quickbooks enterprise for other locations?

So we are looking at upgrading our Network Infrastructure with some Fortinet UTM's (2-30E's, 1-60E's) and I was wondering if the site-to-site performance would be good enough for for the users at the other locations to access an accounting program such as Quickbooks Enterprise on a daily basis...

Mapping a Network Drive when one PC uses Azure AD and the other a local account

Yeah I tried that a couple time and it still wouldn't work, but it turns out the Other Account username syntax is pretty sensitive. I called up a friend and whether or not it was required, we used .\username and it worked. He said the period in front of the user name denotes a local account...

Mapping a Network Drive when one PC uses Azure AD and the other a local account

So I work at a small business which means that our setup isn't exactly ideal and I am running into an issue trying to map a network drive between two different PCs that use different login methods. So the User's PC utilizes a Azure AD (it's the basic functionality that comes with Office 365...

Go Big or Go Home Plex Server

Good lord man, why would you try to transcode 4k video? Pretty much everyone at Plex recommends creating a 1080p version of files that will be watched on non 4k display devices due to the insane hardware requirements of 4k transcoding (and it is still fairly buggy)

Can a computer using an Azure/O365 login connect to computer using a local login on a local network?

So basically a machine with a local login can only be accessed by another computer with a local login. Stupid question time....would the cloud based Azure Active Directory included Office 365 meet the second option? Or do I need a premium subscription?

Can a computer using an Azure/O365 login connect to computer using a local login on a local network?

So I handle IT for a small business (20 employees) and have been gradually trying to transition our laptops from consumer grade to business level laptops with Windows Pro. This actually isn't my primary job but the company didn't have anybody handling it before I arrived so I've taken it on...

Build quality of HP ProBook vs Latitude 5000 series

So I am looking at a latitude with an i3-6100u with a 15.6 1080p vs a 470 G3 probook with a 17.3 1080p I5-6200u. The latitude is about $45 less. Should I just buy the latitude and use the savings towards an SSD since there doesn't appear to be much speed difference. The user would be an...

Build quality of HP ProBook vs Latitude 5000 series

So I am looking to buy some inexpensive laptops for our small business and have honed it on these two options from their respective outlet stores. Anybody have any thoughts as to the build quality of these? Also is it worth spending extra money getting a true 1080p screen? For the same price...

Anybody have experience with the Dell Lattitude 3000 and 5000 series?

I am looking to buy a couple computers for our small company and Dell outlet looks pretty attractive pricewise for business class laptops. My only only concern was build quality and if there was any significant differences between the two considering the 3000 series is about $100 cheaper...

Bought an Netgear Orbi, just returned it for Eero system

That's cool man. Whatever fits the narrative you have in your head It's not a problem for the vast majority of people based on the feedback I've seen around the web. Again, there are absolutely people having problems but to try and portray them as the norm as opposed to the exception seems to...

Bought an Netgear Orbi, just returned it for Eero system

I checked out the 105 post thread on the forum and it was basically three posters complaining the entire time. I have no doubts there are user having problems, but I think overall people seem pretty satisfied.

Bought an Netgear Orbi, just returned it for Eero system

I've had zero problems from the get go with an average of 15 devices connected at any given time so I would just say that not everyone's experience is like yours. It's also still the most highly rated BHR on small net builder Orbi is for people who don't have dedicated ethernet running around...

Running into a weird issue when connecting to work VPN from home

Unfortunately I am it and that's not changing. I am really pushing to move to a cloud based ERP as it would solve a ton of security and logistics issues. Naming convention is the standard Company (\\SERVER\Peachtree) (Z:) As for pinging the host, I won't be able to test that until I get...

Running into a weird issue when connecting to work VPN from home

So about a two months ago i installed a Netgear router with built in VPN support to allow our offsite employees connect up our Accounting System's database file (the program requires a mapped network drive). Setting up a new VPN - Using a VPN Enabled Router vs Manual Setup in Windows

We are talking pretty basic stuff here. Basically the small business I am working at is splitting up the company into two different locations, but the issue is that our ERP Software is local so we are trying to figure out a solution to access the database remotely. The owner read about VPN and...

Can't connect to another computer on network

Yes I am able to ping the other computer with no problem. It probably should be noted that every other computer in the office can log into the computer with the Sage files and that I can access another computer that is completely open sharing setting wise (you can access with no login).
