I updated the link to a new article they did. Check it out and reply if you like.
Not sure why my update to the tread has most everyone commenting ancient news other then you all are starting to read from the beginning. Please watch the last YT link I gave then add your 2 cents ya :)
liked the convo way back. Here is a recent YT from Hardware unboxed that sheds some light on the subject.
At 4K it seems even the first gen Zen holds its own. Even with 1% lows. This with the top of the line GPU.
Thoughts?
Agreed. The ultra priced memory for no added gaming performance was just stupid. Give it the bigger bus and less RAM and you have a FAR SMARTER card. Who wanted 20GB on a castrated 3090?
Was, and probably still in on the G2, but the tid-bits of the new Samsung have me holding off. Probably not for long though.
HP Canada has not notified me of my order even though that was back in early November.
ATI had the 8500 series. I bought a 8500 128MB initially. It had driver problems for me so switched it out for a GeForce Ti200 64GB (notice how the Ti came before the number back then) Eventually I moved back to the ATI 8500 128MB later and it served me well for years.
I agree. If it wasn't for Nvidia over-pricing the market there was no way an over-priced 5700XT it's self would even be mentionable. Nvidia was making so much $$ that they literally let AMD have their own cash cow.
While I like your post. The useless shit storm of Turding is what made the 1080ti look sooo good in comparison. Useless features with the worst bump in performance ever!
But hey let's give a slow clap to first gen RT :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

No GOAT past 2015. They are too precise now. No fuck-ups that give us consumers free power.
The closer the big 2 R the less gifts they will give. You need some tanking for a card company to gift a card.
GF2-MX (16 MB fast RAM) for me. So highly OC'able and so cheap. Me and all my broke friends...

Lots of YT content out now about changing face mask to improve FOV.
HP G2 has brought a lot of content to WMR and optimization in general. Thanks HP :D
A few tricks have really helped my O+!
Why is every review so different? I see dirastically different numbers and can't make heads or tails out of it all. Add SAM to the mix and it adds another level of confussion. It is entirely unimpressive or very exciting with a lot of promise depending on the review. Too many variables it seems.
It is happening faster and faster. I bought a cheap celey G3930 and a MB for some mining a ways back. The board needed a bios update to use the chip (Z170) so I sent it back to the retailer NCIX. It came back borked and they were out of business. So the other day I thought I would upgrade my...
I'm with you but... the RTX3080 and 6800XT reviews were so all over the map. I like to think I have my fav's but...?
One show better 1% lows but lower avg. fps and another site the reverse! It has been the hardest review cycle of my life. I live for this shit and it is all over the map...
3080 because I am VR centrist and it does seem to have an advantage at 4K+ . 6800XT because I seems that reference cards are still trickling out at such a better $/performance ratio.
Answer: I wish I could get a 3080 at near msrp. Probably settle for AMD 6800XT at msrp because of savings and...
Ya I watched a VR site review that and they said it was extreemly well done. Maybe too well as who really needs to be eaten by a giant bug while trying to hide in clausterphobic spaces in realistic VR that that has a likelihood you will need mental care afterwords.
The referance is at a reasonable price if one can get one. These AIB partners are riding the Nvidia wave and while faster, are a horrible $/perf ratio.
AMD reference is the best bang for the buck.
My guess is that it is 8GB ram with 2GB shared for GPU. It gives an option of 1 or 2 GB shared memory. I don't think you are upgrading the memory.
If you folks are mild users (Web browsing, YT/FB) then give a fresh install of Windows and an SSD and be done with it.
For your application I don't think RAM speed will matter much at all. An 8 core Ryzen of any generation will burn through your application now and in the future. In fact I doubt there would be any decernable difference between any of them as the CPU will be so far from the bottleneck. Just get...
The AMD site had the 6800XT in my cart for $827 + tax. I never managed to get to full checkout, but that's what they sell for.
Where are you seeing any 3080's for $1000 CAD?
Is it VR? The old versions in VR have been fun but the stand alones have a short shelf life, but fun. Looking to the next level from these guys. Fuck pancake. Did they do it?
I found the results quite close inspite of the conclusion. AMD has obviously come a long way here. The infinity cache does seem to be hitting its performance limits at VR resolutions (SS and such pushing it) but over all it is very close and game dependent. For me I looked at PC2 which I have...
