Thanks for the heads up. So how did you know the shuffle was about to start? This was the closest I have got to a new GPU, but of course came up short and got the "You Almost Got It" email. I'm getting ready to give up.
I think the performance is pretty good for 1950X. What is it barely ok in? For video there are applications that don't use all of its threads and on the gaming side even less of those threads are used.
Nice. I was wondering why my setup seemed so much "cooler". Guess I got lucky and Corsair had a flat cold plate out of the box. As you start overclocking, post your settings. I hit the wall trying to get past 3.8 GHz, but that is me not familiar with MSI/AMD bios settings and not wanting to...
Setup a 1950X last night. I didn't have any trouble installing win 8.1 on a 960 pro NVMe drive with the MSI carbon X399 board. In another thread it seemed like it might be an issue depending on what build Win 10 was being installed...no issues upgrading to Win 10. Will do a fresh install once...
I'm in too with the same MSI board and starting to put together the 1950X system tonight. The CPU box is ridiculously large standing at 1/3 the height of a full tower case! Thanks for the tip on the 960 pro!
91C on the VRMs seems a bit warm. I'll be interested to see how folks cool that off a...
Everything ready but the 1950x and MSI board from Amazon...guess I'll be waiting for a while. Looking forward to all the review action that should hit soon. Can't wait....
Thanks Kyle for all the information you have been posting. Not much information out there to help folks get ready to put together a threadripper system. I was concerned when I saw your image of the Thermaltake Floe Riing 360 AIO with the razor blade showing the lack of flatness. After...
I'm not sure how the measurements line up, but wouldn't the heat sinks on existing coolers be gimped somewhat since they are so small relative to the TR4 heat spreader?
I'm in. My old Rampage III Extreme has been in service since release back in 2009 or there about. My son mostly uses it for gaming now. Picked up an X5670 on ebay for $31. Forgot that the i7-930 that it is replacing was 45 nm and the xenon is 32 nm. Going to be fun seeing what kind of OC I...
Nothing wrong with an old i7-930. I've had one in service since it was released and it has been very reliable. With a SSD and reasonable graphics card it doesn't have any issues with 1080p gaming at 60FPS. My son is very happy with it. People shouldn't look at old tech like it has no...
So how does this spread? If your company was already infected, but you never turned on your computer today...would the payload already be there? This thing is brutal.
Shooting in RAW is a pain because you still need to convert to other formats for everyone else. At least with RAW as has been said above there is more information in the picture and more chance that greater detail can be pulled out or noise removed. What does it hurt to shoot RAW?
Corsair has great attention to detail with well thought out cases. Never skimp on drive bays in a full tower. A bay or two for an optical drive and fan controller should always be an option.
I'm with Vaulter98c on this. Right now it looks like my 2 970s are bringing in ~500k ppd. Back in the day I had 4 cpus and 5 gpus folding at one point and didn't even come close to this output.
Back then I was hard core and OC'd the hell out of everything and kept it running 24x7 until it...
Hi Guys-- Been a long time since I was folding. Just wanted to give it a go a little bit more. I have two GTX970s on a p8z77 pro mobo. I can get one GPU folding but when I try to get the other working it appears to be running both clients on the same GPU. Only one GPU is heating up...
Now that Ziran posted helpful instructions to get the 4k 60Hz 444 chroma working on his JU750 I can confirm that the UN48JU6500 (flat version) is also 444 at 4k. I'm using GTX970 in SLI. I was just about to give up but once I renamed the HDMI 1 port to PC everything work just fine. Samsung...
That stinks. It says All four HDMI inputs will support up to 4:4:4 chroma subsampling for full color data rendering of 4K video; however only the HDMI 1 inputs will support 60 fps in 4:4:4 or 4:2:2 mode. I hope they are telling the truth with this. Will be able to test out later this week.
From the manual:
The HDMI connection with HDMI UHD Color set to Off supports up to UHD 50P/60P 4:2:0 input signals, while the HDMI connection with HDMI UHD Color set to On supports up to UHD 50P/60P 4:4:4 and 4:2:2 input signals.
Just need to make sure the UHD is set to on.
Decided to go...
I've been using Asus mobos since I started building computers. Had a lot of fun with the LGA 775 Intel P965 Commando. Things sure have come a long way since then.
Pretty much all digital cameras produce images better than 4k. I'm looking forward to seeing my images at least a little bit closer to their native resolution on the big screen.
I hope these are more reliable than the 39 inch 4K model. I had 3 of them and all of them have failed on me with no support from Seiki. I really miss having a 4k monitor. Once you go 4K (even at 30Hz) it is hard to go back to lower res.
This! I've got 47k+ photos. The collection is dynamic and gets trimmed and added to frequently. With 600 folders to keep track of manually syncing will be a pain. Is their no way to sync from a PC? In any case this is a great service to include with Prime. Unlimited is good.
This is way off topic but why did you reflash the drive? Was its manufacture date prior to 12/20/2010?
