    Who is buying a 3090?

Good point. Only have two of these corsair fan and I'm hesitate to add more fans because want a quiet PC. So far it's been manageable and runs quiet :)

    Who is buying a 3090?

Founders edition, runs quiet and cool. System power peaks at ~580W, so a 750W Gold PSU should be good enough if you don't run a monstrous CPU. Mine is a i7 9700F.

    Thoughts on first gen E5-2670

Did a quick test on 2 x E5-2670 with 64GB Quad channel DDR3 ECC Reg 1333MHz, look at the memory bandwidth.

    Thoughts on first gen E5-2670

I'm running a server with 2 socket E5 2670. I only benchmarked Cinebench R15 and got 1900 score. Pretty impressive given the price I paid for two CPUs (around 60 bucks each on eBay at the moment).

    Show Your LCD(s) setups!!!

Sold my X99 desktop before moving to new home.. it was a solid PC for photo editing and gaming, but it's just too big and heavy (fractual R4 case). Plus, my car trunk space is limited Now my computation gadgets are fully mobile

i7-5820k vs. i7-6700K for sim gaming

5820k can be easily overclocked to 4.5GHz, at least from my experience.... X99 motherboards have better VRM and quality in general, because it's HEDT! Almost doubled L3 cache, soldered TIM, 2 more cores, 4 more threads, Quad channel DDR4 I see no reason to get 6700k, especially if you do more...

Green sticker in the mobo sold by Fry's, New or Restocked return?

Update: Just checked Fry's store and EVERY NEW motherboard has this plastic seals on their box, and possibly the sticker too. The sales people told me they check against bent pins on every new motherboard. So nothing to worry about. Hi, I just pick a MSI X99S SLI Krait edition from Fry's. I...

Need a new board & cpu. Whats hot and whats not?

If ITX form factor is not an issue for you, Asus H97i-Plus is a good choice. It has the high quality 10K capacitor, the same one as my X99-A. It's a bit surprising but it's just there...

I had finally decided to go 4790k until...

Personally I would only go with LGA1150 for either ITX build or tight budget therefore go with i5 or crazy overclock aiming for 4.6+GHz 24/7 or upgrade mobo/CPU every year For anything else I don't see the reason to go with 4790k instead of 5820k. 12 thread 28-PCIE vs 8 thread 16-PCIE will...

I had finally decided to go 4790k until...

    DDR4 2X4GB is currently ~84, so it's pretty decent. I remember 2X2GB DDR3 in 2010 cost 100.

    Dell U2415 with 16:10 1920 x 1200 AH-IPS panel

Here are a few pics that compare the U2415 and S2415H. Both are PWM free but U2415 specifically mentioned that "Analogue backlight dimming control for flicker free display" in its User 's Guide. Both monitors are new product released a weeks ago. U2415 has light coating and text is actually...

    Dell U2415 with 16:10 1920 x 1200 AH-IPS panel

It says U2415 is the 16:10 version of U2414H because they look identical somehow. But U2415 is the clear winner because it has better panel thus better color reproduction.

    Core i7-5960X 5930K 5820K Overclocking & Performance @ [H]

My system: i7 5820K @ 4.2GHz on a MSI X99S Sli Plus, offset -0.010 with 1.210 vcore under P95 v27.9. The system can't pass P95v28.5 but it seems to be stable for everything I do with it (rendering, gaming). Ram is Crucial Ballistix sport 2400MHz CL16, running XMP profile. I'm quite...

    Core i7-5960X 5930K 5820K Overclocking & Performance @ [H]

I got the i7 5820K and MSI X99S SLI Plus. The CPU is overclocked to 4.3GHz with 1.21V vcore, the cache frequency is 3.5GHz at 1.2V ring bus voltage. The setup can pass Prime95v27.9 and Aida64 stability test but not the Prime95v28.5. It's probably the P95v28.5 is using AVX2 and FMA instructions...

Best price for performance 6-core option? LGA 2011 vs LGA 2011 v3?

Best price for performance 6-core option? LGA 2011 vs LGA 2011 v3?

DDR4 isn't expensive. For example, the Crucial Ballistix Sport 4X4GB 2400MHz CL16 costs about 220USD, and it has 50GB/s bandwidth with ~60ns access time, pretty good compare to high speed DDR3 quad channel module. The DDR3 16GB quad channel modules would cost more than 160USD, so the price...

The new GLOSSY AH-IPS Dell S2415H

I got this monitor from Dell a few days ago. The glossy panel is so eye-pleasing at office work and web browsing. There is reflection but nothing serious as long as it's kept away from direct sunlight. The most important feature: it's PWM free. I tested it using the white line image from...

Blue, Red, Black or Brown Cherries?

I have used Filco blue, Ducky red, Corsair K70 red and CM blue. For blue switch, the tactile feel is great but it's noisy and my figures get tired after long typing session. The red switch is light and easy to type, great for FPS gaming. The Ducky board has too much resistance on the large keys...

Dell u2711, is the AG really that bad?

I would avoid these monitors with tons AG coating, because my eyes burns.... It's just too bad when you read lots of text. It would be fine if you do photo and gaming stuff, but not reading on it. For text work I suggest a glossy, like Apple stuff.

Need advice on 24" 1920x1200 monitor for text editing

Hi I'm in searching for 24" 1920x1200 monitor and will use it for coding, reading and BF3 gaming. I have had Dell 2209wa, some Samsung TN and NEC EA232WMi (current), all of them cause eye fatigue. NEC is better but the text is hard to read comparing to ACD in school's lab, or even my laptop...
