Whoa! You just took me back in time. I had an Epox 8kha+ that I ran with an Opteron 165 @2.8. That was when I joined [H] in fact. Played the original Bioshock on it. One of my favorite computers ever. Upgraded to a Q9550 afterwards.
Great chance for AMD here. If they have a competitive product and can meet demand a lot of people will buy. Even I would now that I have a Freesync monitor. Excellent opportunity.
In certain cases not even. I watched Bitwit's video and that shed some light on real world performance. Seems like a decent upgrade for 4k but not worth it for 1440p.
I'm going to stick with my 2080ti because it's awesome for now until an AIB comes out that I like enough to replace the 2080ti. I really doubt yield will be there for everyone who wants a new card on launch day. Not trying to be a downer but I'd be surprise if supply met demand.
Look into the 5700xt on the used market after everything is released. It's incredibly powerful and fun to game on and I have both a 2080ti and 5700xt. I game on either with utmost enjoyment.
Just a heads up. I've switched this to my main monitor at home behind a 2080ti. Let me say, the difference between freesync and gsync to me is very subtle. Both work great. Tested on 5700xt and 2080ti. This screen is replacing a gsync only AOC ag352ucg which is a great monitor but only 100hz...
I'm curious if Big Navi announcement was waiting for today. I'm thinking AMD will announce before the Ampere cards are available. If not, they're probably not competitive. Thoughts?
DDU shouldn't do anything in that regard since it is an OS level utility. Could you try plugging your keyboard into a different port? Maybe there is some sort of conflict? I dunno...
Really? Wow. Mashing the BIOS key doesn't work either? I can understand not seeing the splash screen but the keyboard should still be passing strokes to the system. The monitor should have nothing to do with that. This makes no sense.
Mine has several HDR settings in the HUD, though I haven't tested them. Apprently it works but is lacking according to Tom's Hardware.
I tried Gsync with an RTX 2060 on my laptop and it worked just fine. I've since set this up with a 5700XT and it is an awesome combo. Wanted to compare the...
Anyone know how well Gsync works with this? If it comes back in stock my work is willing to buy it for me. It would be nice if I could game on it too :P
Yeah. The added size would definitely help however I find the 512 to be plenty. I ended up putting in a 2TB nvme in as a second drive and it's been just fine.
Interesting. I may need to do that as well. My CPU gets pretty hot sometimes will I'm gaming and sometimes (very rarely) my games freeze. GPU temps are fine but CPU really climbs. I also repasted when I added a second nvme drive. Helped a little maybe?
I'm not sure if this is the going rate these days for this laptop but this seems like a lot of machine for the money. Very similar to my Triton 500 except this has a 10th gen chip and let me tell you that gaming a joy on it...
