Had a pre-order for a 5900x on BLT for a while, originally stock ETA said jan 29. On the 29th stock ETA was changed to "approx 3 weeks", today ETA says "none". Cancelled the pre-order. My 9900k/2080ti will hold me fine, will see what the hardware world looks like in the summer.
EDIT: AMD's web...
I've just decided to wait 6 months and see where we are. My Win 10 (i9-9900k)and Arch Linux ( R5 3600) systems have 2080ti Hybrid and 2080 Super Hybrid respectfully, our bedroom pc (i7-8700k) has a 2060 Super 8Gb. Have a MSI X570 board (Mag Tomahawk wifi) I got for $200 a few months ago, was...
When BLT is out of stock a/o no eta on a product, you can't order/pre-order. With the latest AMD CPUs and both AMD & Nvidia GPUs, if they are OOS and no eta on a shipment, they would have a notice on the main page saying you can't order them and you won't find them listed on their site.
As of...
Just got an email from them saying they expect to receive a shipment of AMD CPUs on 1/29. Not etched in stone but again I had figured I wouldn't get one until spring anyway.

Was able to place an order on BLT for a 5900X just now. Not sure if they are in stock or not but if I have to wait that's fine, not in a hurry anymore. They tell you to check back in a day for order status.

Was just on Newegg, all the 5800X & 5900X (individual & combos) had add to cart boxes. Then of course click on any of them and get the oops we've encountered an error then everything goes back to auto notify.

Was just on BLT's site as I'm interested in that Asus 6800XT Hybrid and now there is a notice dated today that certain AMD CPUs and recently released graphics cards are not presently available for preorder.

Given the 3090 isn't that much faster than the 3080 I'm just going to wait until Nov-Dec. By then we'll have a clear view of the video card market.

Got my EVGA 2080Ti XC Hybrid in jan 2019 for $1400. Was spoiled cause I got close to 90% of what I paid each time when I upgraded to 980Ti to 1080Ti and 1080Ti to the 2080ti but that ain't gonna happen now if the performance numbers are correct. have a few grandkids with gaming systems so one...
A lot of it has to do with all the hype when it was released- greatest gaming bang for the buck CPU shouted every tech web site and YouTube reviewer. Even when it was out of stock reviewers were using it to compare to other CPUs. Mine is out for delivery today

I've sold a lot of my video cards over the past 5-6 years to friends when I've upgraded, never had one fail yet. Usually Zotac or EVGA cards.
If my new 2080Ti Hybrid goes another week problem free I'll be putting my 2 yr old 1080Ti Hybrid up for sale.

Saw a post over on guru3d where a guy had his screen go black, saw sparks, smelled burning. Posted a pic of the back side of his card under the GPU where a few surface mount resistors got so hot the solder started to flow and they shifted position and shorted...
Have had it running for 5 hours now, so far no issues. idles at 25-27c, in the couple games I've tried only went up to 52c. FPS about 20-30% better than the 1080Ti Hybrid it's replacing. i7-8700k (stock), 32Gb DDR4 2400. If it's still OK by this weekend I may try some mild OC. 3DMark Timespy was...
Looks like I won't get the card till Wed. It's been sitting at the UPS depot since Fri but UPS is only doing special Next day deliveries until Wed.
