Finally an update ! Yaaaaay :)
So I'm excited to share with you guys features that I've hinted at, and some I managed to sneak in over the last couple of weeks.
Protoclaus has been more than generous in allowing me to make these additional modifications and getting it to my doorstep before...
The SLI certificate is required for the nVidia drivers to enable the "SLI enable" option in the Control Panel. So you do need it. The mobo is nice and 4xxx series produces decent gains over 3xxx series CPU's, especially in SLI.
I got SLI to work on non-SLI boards using bifurcation by injecting...
Yep that bad boy works with "some" network adapters. I've tried this with an Intel NUC. What was really interesting is that for example when I got an Intel ethernet adapter and then the same exact adapter but with HP firmware, only the intel worked. Not sure why. Compatibility was hit and miss...
That adapter won't work. I've tried it about 6 months ago. Bought 2 off ebay, neither worked.
Only the Bplus tech M.2 PCIe x4 adapter will work. I think they screwed up something either with the singling or voltage.
Yep. It works exactly as it should :)
No artefacts, no funny business :)
Mind you this was no apples to apples comparison as I only have 7700k benchmarks to compare against... and I can't be bothered to set this up on an ATX X370 board ... but the performance diff is consistent.
Not at all. Don't be silly. I love feedback because it brings out the pain points in the design. Sometimes hearing it from someone else motivates me to go back to the drawing board and evaluate the options. Feedback is always welcome ! I appreciate people who take the time to make the project...
Its really hard for me to estimate price right now, as I'm still thinking how to bundle it (1 pcie riser, 2 pcie risers, sli cables etc ...)
The hole in the back of the case would stay there. It is hardly visible as it is the diameter of a hdmi cable and its directly under the power supply.
You think so dondan ?
I'm worried what will happen to the water at that temp, especially when summer comes along and ambient temp is likely to be around 25-27c.
I noticed some condensation on the hoses i was filling the system in.
Temporary custom loop with soft tubing done and running .... man ... it gets toasty with 7700k @ 4.5Ghz + 2 x 1080ti's let me tell you that ...
Screenshots above were with 2 x 120mm fans at 100% speed
With side panels on, fans at 70% just like the original tests I'm getting:
Finally starting to come together.
Also, do you guys have any suggestions on where to put the bleed port or make any changes to the loop ?
I'm looking to do some hardline tubing and just wondering if it will be possible. Looking for 90 degree bends as much as possible.
Also quick update on SLI cables.
I found these to work very well.
They are fujitsu branded SLI cables. Slightly longer than the longest ASUS cables available on the market. Problem is their price right now so I hope Lian Li come up with something of their own or start mass producing these...
Solder sucker is not good enough for this job. The solder blob on the ground connections is too big and even a professional soldering iron can't get it hot enough, hence the dremel.
The PSU comes with only 1 x 8 PIN PCIE power connector and 2 x EPS 8 PIN connections. So those had to be changed...
Work is finally continuing on my build in the case :D :D :D :D
I've measured the new rotary terminals and they will definitely help with the build:
I've also had to re-cable another power supply. Lets just say I had to give the other one up for "testing purposes" :)
So here's a high level...
There is 60mm clearance (for thickness) at the front of the case. So I don't think that would be possible.
Also only 240mm is supported.
But with the release of the new Noctua 120x15mm fans you could probably setup a push/pull configuration :)
Awesome ! Welcome to the forums. Im humbled by your support :) Wish i could spend more time on the case and build right now, but looks like i'll be away from home for another 2 weeks at least. But words like yours help me reinvigorate me to pursue the manufacturing of the case :) Much appreciated !
Hey Omen and everyone else waiting on an update...
I've been travelling for work for the last 3 weeks, which has made it impossible for me to work on this project.
Unfortunately that's the nature of my work.
I'm still alive however and I will have some news soon (tm) ..... i promise :)
