Have you every tried nmon? http://nmon.sourceforge.net/pmwiki.php Not as fancy looking at this, but also a good tool. Been using it for a long time now, and I primarily use it on AIX, but there is a Linux version also.

Not proud of this, but it was necessary for reasons I don't want to get into... 2088 days.

    Which to get?

I currently have an iPhone XR. Plan to run it until the damn thing fails. I went through 3 batteries on my previous iPhone 6 and made it to within months of the phone not being supported before upgrading to the XR.

Wait for a new iPhone? If you don't like the next iPhone, the existing ones will be cheaper.

Anybody still running the Beta? Public Beta 5 was released today, been a pretty smooth experience for me so far. Few bugs here and there but nothing serious.

ATI Radeon 9800 Pro AGP Graphics Card Complete New In Box Factory Sealed Rare

Some 9800Pro’s came with the R360 core and 256bit bus width. The only difference was clock speed and firmware.

ATI Radeon 9800 Pro AGP Graphics Card Complete New In Box Factory Sealed Rare

Had one of these that I modded to a 9800XT and overclocked and was STILL getting bested by some 9700Pro's.

    Raspberry Pi 4

I think the biggest problem with the Pi before the 4 was the garbage USB controller they were using before. I could manage 1GB of RAM, but the IO was terrible. Haven’t tried a 4 yet.

Password Managers: Bitwarden vs Google Password Manager

I use KeePass. Database file is hosted on a VPS instance. Clients for iOS and Windows are not a problem, Mac OS is a different story. I'm connecting to my VPN instance using SFTP to retrieve the database file and I cannot find a Mac OS client that supports SFTP. Right now I'm using Wine to...

Is there a way to force Linux to actually look at the network to see what's there ?

This is not DNS related. There is a Windows service that provides other workstations on the network information such as workstation name, shares available, etc; I had NETBIOS in mind but I'm almost certain that's NOT it. Sorry, not a Windows guy but this sounds like a Samba related problem. I...

Convince me to keep Mac OS on my iMac.

Looks like I jumped the gun on this post... Somehow I forgot that even though High Sierra isn't the latest version of Mac OS, it is still recieving security updates and that is what I was primarily concerned with. Also, it seems that the fact that my iMac only has a Radeon 4850 actually might...

Convince me to keep Mac OS on my iMac.

I have a late 2009 27" iMac: i7 2.8ghz quad core 12GB RAM 1TB HDD Radeon 4850 It is currently running the last version of Mac OS supported on it, High Sierra. It's really bothering me that I'm no longer receiving newer version of Mac OS for it. It looks like running Mojave or Catalina is...

Thoughts on Synology vs real server?

I have a DS212j that is still getting updates and still working fine. It's kinda slow these days and I've unconfigured/uninstalled more and more services as each new major version of DSM gets heavier and heavier to keep it running well. Still works great though.

    Forza Motorsport 7 thread

I got tired of all the broken an unfulfilled promises from Polyphony Digital and Kaz. The game updates were largely boring, downloadable contents were pretty much just new variants of the Nissan GT-R. I had been frustrated every since Gran Tursimo 4. I really like the HUGE selection of cars...

Small installations, rPi vs PC-based VM server?

Up until the Pi4 with USB 3.0, USB performance wasn’t really much better than SD. And I don’t want to run a second server so I can boot the first server.

Small installations, rPi vs PC-based VM server?

My longest running Raspberry Pi is a little VPN gateway at my parents house, they use it to watch region locked content from overseas. It's running on a very old Raspberry Pi 1 Model B+.

The OpenWrt Community is proud to announce the first service release of the stable OpenWrt 19.07 series.

I haven't touch OpenWRT (DD-WRT specifically) since the last Linksys WRT54G I had. I had about a dozen of them at one point that I had collected, mostly the WRT54GS. Ended up throwing them all away, no need for 802.11G/100Mbit hardware anymore. Switched to pfSense and haven't looked back.

Small installations, rPi vs PC-based VM server?

My biggest problem with using Raspberry Pi's is SD storage and the performance and reliability problems with them. I've had a few cheap Microcenter SD cards fail, and have also had some filesystem corruption from power disruptions. That being said, Raspberry PI's are extremely convenient and...

    Windows 95. Seriously

The first version I messed with was Redhat 4.2 (1997). Even with my job, when I think of all the versions of AIX that I've worked with and seen come and go (4.3, 5.1, 5.3, 6.1 and soon to 7.1) it makes me feel really old. And I'm only 36...
