Folding with Nvidia cards = WOOOOOOOOO

I decided to update the drivers, and noticed my numbers were lower when I checked on progress. Kept them for a couple days and accounting for GTA, it never showed more than 1.2 mil. Put it back to the august 2020 drivers and its sitting at 1.5 mil on this task. Either coincidence, or the new...

Powerful ClockTuner Optimization App For AMD Ryzen Zen 2 CPUs Launches September 29

Its probably garbage. I got it off ebay for $180 in April.

Powerful ClockTuner Optimization App For AMD Ryzen Zen 2 CPUs Launches September 29

3600x water cooled on Asus B450-F. Think ill leave it stock.

Folding with Nvidia cards = WOOOOOOOOO

    https://foldingathome.org/2020/09/28/foldingathome-gets-cuda-support/ They are now:)

Folding with Nvidia cards = WOOOOOOOOO

191k on the 750ti this time. That's bonkers if there wasn't any rescaling of points as well.
  14. sappyse107

Folding with Nvidia cards = WOOOOOOOOO

When I was messing around with multiple cards last year/early this year, my 1070 was getting around 700-800k a day. Now, its about 1.2-1.4 mil. I thought they rescaled the points to be even more unfair to those in the past, but instead its Nvidia who have made the change. CUDA support! The...

    WCG THOR Challenge 2020

I was using this link from the top. https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,42702_offset,0 Looks what I was reading something regarding week 3 which has those particular conditions.

How does GridCoin pass the 2nd condition? 2- Not to be a team rewarding the distributed computing of its volunteers financially.

    WCG THOR Challenge 2020

Almost perfect timing:P I should hit 1 mil on rosetta in 2-3 days and will be going back to the WCG after that. If there is anything GPU based that falls under this challenge, let me know. Im super casual about all this stuff;)

    Buying a CPU on eBay?

I bought a 1600 and was sent a 2600x in a box with the UPC removed. No idea what happened but everything else they sold was art/kraft/antique type stuff.

    Folding@home top 10 teams

#69. Id like to thank everyone above me for being there, and those below me, for keeping me inspired to remain here.

    Folding@home top 10 teams

I sold the 1080, and won't be running my other 1070 until I get a power supply for another machine. GTA online random crashes when I have 2 cards for whatever reason. Even with it not folding while its running:/

    Firing the boys back up

I try to run anything related to Huntingtons but Folding is pretty much just Covid right now from what I am seeing. Got a 1070 on that, and a couple cpus on Rosetta. I might grab an RPi4 and see what else it can do before putting it on number crunching. Just looked at options...wtf...

    SETI.Germany's 11 Annual BOINC Pentathlon (2020)

Tie for 9th...10th place, its all the same to me and the participation trophy I am printing off right now:P It was a nice change of pace from feeling good about myself on folding@home. Amicable Numbers would make a great song. "why don't you make any sense, and why are there so many of you"...

    SETI.Germany's 11 Annual BOINC Pentathlon (2020)

*Amicable Numbers. Thought I missed the window on the Javelin throw for a sec;) Kinda crazy with 12 people though, especially looking at the Folding@Home numbers going on now.
  24. sappyse107

    SETI.Germany's 11 Annual BOINC Pentathlon (2020)

Unless you want Rosetta on CPU over Numberfields, ill pause Rosetta and go 100% one 1 task with all machines. Otherwise I can take care of an IP in the router if that will do it and keep rosetta going.
  25. sappyse107

    SETI.Germany's 11 Annual BOINC Pentathlon (2020)

That means anything done now won't count, right?
  26. sappyse107

    SETI.Germany's 11 Annual BOINC Pentathlon (2020)

1024 units RTS. I just picked some up after grabbing a lot of numberfields. Ill just ride the wave.

    SETI.Germany's 11 Annual BOINC Pentathlon (2020)

Just about to say something about the work units. I am working on a virtualmachine for numberfields. Any suggestions on what to use for ram, hd, and operating system? This way I can suspend internet activity and leave rosetta alone (I didn't watch the video again yet, though I had a little...

    SETI.Germany's 11 Annual BOINC Pentathlon (2020)

Sounds good, I'll watch the video on bunkering again, but I have the idea down already at least:)
  29. sappyse107

    SETI.Germany's 11 Annual BOINC Pentathlon (2020)

32gb in the 3600x and 24 in the 4770 to handle amicable and rosetta. I keep 4 threads available since the 4770 isn't mine, so its 4 threads for rosetta like the 4670s. The 4670s/750ti is doing rosetta and gpugrid due to 8gb of ram.
  30. sappyse107

    SETI.Germany's 11 Annual BOINC Pentathlon (2020)

    That is fine with me:)
  31. sappyse107

    SETI.Germany's 11 Annual BOINC Pentathlon (2020)

Should I pull anything off Rosetta for this or keep doing what I have been? I don't know how the overall score works to decide which is more important. Learned a bit about RAM adding 2 more 8s for Amicable, and also saw what 2133 mhz does to a 3600x (it stinks!). CMD 2T FTW!
  32. sappyse107

    SETI.Germany's 11 Annual BOINC Pentathlon (2020)

Amicable uses 8gb no problem. I can move DDR3 around to run a 750ti but I would have to stop doing Rosetta to run both 750ti machines for Amicable numbers. My main computer is a 3600x with 16gb of ram and 2 1070s. Its doing the most work with Rosetta now so I would have to go down to 2-4 WU...
  33. sappyse107

    SETI.Germany's 11 Annual BOINC Pentathlon (2020)

Thanks! Got it setup on the same computer as before so once gpugrid is done in a couple hours, ill see how a 750ti handles it and the system memory requirements.
  34. sappyse107

    SETI.Germany's 11 Annual BOINC Pentathlon (2020)

Got Amicable Numbers going on another computer with a 750ti, but it was trying to use 8 cpus with it? Using that machine for Rosetta (4770 cpu) and don't want to dedicate all those cores to amicable numbers unless its really the only way. That will mean its going to do the same with my 3600x...
  35. sappyse107

    SETI.Germany's 11 Annual BOINC Pentathlon (2020)

Setup to use one of my 1070s for Amicable Numbers. If it doesn't need 8gb of system ram, ill pull the other off folding as well. I'll be better prepared next year but the videos are definitely helping right now:) Thanks!

    Time to retire

It was fun, but I hit my goal;) just kidding obviously but I amuse myself when I can. I already messed up and went higher than #107 on the folding team.

    Asus B350-F vs B450-F

It has been a good long while since I really dove into the details on chipsets, or even cared about a CPU beyond its frequency for my stupid engine software. Thanks AMD.... So I have had a B350-F and a 2600X for a year now, and its been solid. The 3200mhz CAS14 RAM ran at its advertised...

Video card load causing line noise

I run one of those on all but 1 synth, so that very well could do it for me if I had a 1/4 TRS version (2 of them). I run 2 cables from one mixer to the other, and if I don't have the mixer on it causes a ton of noise. With the synth mixer on feeding to the main mixer, its fine until the...

Video card load causing line noise

I don't know where else to post this and my guess is either its just how electricity works, or it is the power supply. The line noise is with the mixer I have setup for some synths that is plugged into the same outlet that the computer is on. Its quiet like I would expect with the computer on...
