Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I have a external MORA 3 (9 x 140mm) setup with two computers in series, each with dual R9 290, about 1400 watts full load for both systems. The GPUs never break 50C even with full load extended operation. I have PEX in the wall to take the water to the radiator / pumps in another room. Used...
You run a H105 (2x120mm AIO) at 4.5 GHz and 1.4 volts and expect stability. I don't know what gave you the impression that a H105 was capable of cooling that kind of load, post us a your steady state temps, I'm curious, but I bet you're in the red.
you need a better cooler, if 4.5 stable is...
I disagree with the passive only comments.
I've had more than one die from what I suspect is overheating (they run so damn hot). They are meant for server cases with great front to back airflow, and in a desktop case with a more bottom-front to top-rear airflow they don't get much (did anyone...
I too am getting totally unacceptable failure rates on my home NAS. > 50% of seagates failed in < 2 years. And the worst part is I scavenged them from USB enclosures so none of them have warranty. Worst computer parts decision I made in years. All the replacements are HGST/Toshiba (no failures...
Just FYI I seem to be severely CPU bound on my ZFS system and 10GBE using samba.
Specs:
FreeBSD 10
Celeron G530 (sandy bridge @ 2.4 Ghz)
8x 3TB 7200RPM @ RaidZ2
Mellanox ConnectX-2 10GBE Direct connection to two clients (no switch).
I only get ~250 MB/s over samba, even with just large...
I think brown requires less polygons and textures than green.
Green = grass, and MMOs are made for the lowest hardware possible.
It really isn't true to the elder-scrolls experience at all IMO.
Node 304
Just bought it and I love it
PS. I wish I was in the US, I paid nearly twice this much

Beware this bad advice.
It will work fine with that one rad. Potentially will be a couple degrees lower with double rad. If the objective is E-peen levels of overclocking or absolute minimum temps then yeah you need as much rad area as you can fit. If the objective is low temps, moderate...
also check out project FIFO if you find SmartOS too steep a curve. It gives smartOS a web gui control interface. kinda like using FreeNAS for storage, but instead for visualization control.
I'm using smartOS myself and I have to say I REALLY like it. Unfortunately I found Fifo had some problems for me. It wasn't working flawlessly when i tested it, but it didn't interfere either and since I only asigned it 256 mb of ram i would still recommending giving it a try, it hardly has much...
Did you really need unlimited saves when the stock game lets you buy 500 salvage insurance for a measly 3000 credits each (and missions are probably paying 5 million + each by now)
btw i love x3
Way to quote me out of context
" If I had VT-D then ESXi would be viable, but as is I find SmartOS is the only sane choice"
I do not have VT-D and I do have drives over 3GB. Teach me how to set that up on ESXi without splitting drives into partitions.
I use smartOS because it works for my...
You need VT-D and a sata controller to pass through in my experience. Neither Virtual drive images, nor RDM, would let me make drives over 2GB last I tried. Even if all my drives were <= 2TB I still wouldnt use that solution because I would be in trouble next upgrade. If I had VT-D then ESXi...
Be warned RDM doesnt work with drives over 2GB, and using virtual drives is a bad idea.
If you dont have hardware passthough and a SATA card to pass through, the best option IMO is smartos, optionally with FiFo installed for management. Using this currently and I'm very happy with it...
I can't belive im reading this thread. I bought 3tb drives at christmas for $80 canadian. I could get them for $100 today. It's like 3 cents a gigabyte right now. What media is cheaper than that and even comes close to the convenience of reusable and huge storage like a HDD?
Why on earth...
What options are out there for an ultrabook with _GOOD_ screen quality? All I really find are the zenbook prime. I just want to make sure I'm not overlooking something.
i have both. GF uses q6600 desktop (my hand-me-down). My file server is a g530 (awesome buy for file server. sips power and tons of speed).
let me know if you want any specific info.
I used to use distilled + antifreeze,
that was a mistake, it got all cloudy and I guess stuff was growing. Im still using the same gear with just distilled now and nothing grows, and that's after a previous 'infection' so clearly distilled is all you need.
Well that's the final word I guess. Solaris has no AES-NI acceleration for ZFS. Not yet at least.
Tempted to go create a thread on Oracle support asking about it.
Im still trying to figure out if AES-NI even works...

I might suggest doing a bare metal test with a ramdisk or SSD just to quickly check AES-NI performance.
