    I used to use distilled + antifreeze, that was a mistake, it got all cloudy and I guess stuff was growing. Im still using the same gear with just distilled now and nothing grows, and that's after a previous 'infection' so clearly distilled is all you need.

    Well that's the final word I guess. Solaris has no AES-NI acceleration for ZFS. Not yet at least. Tempted to go create a thread on Oracle support asking about it.
