Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Exactly what my thoughts were.
Currently have 93 uncompressed Blu-ray rips (mainmovie, subtitles and English audio tracks only; no menus or special features) packaged into ISO files taking up 2.34 TB. Playback is done through XBMC.
Yes, I could possibly encode them and not tell the difference...
PfSense is a firewall out of the box. If you want to route between these two networks only I think what you are after is to disable NAT. Otherwise these two networks will be NAT'ed through 1.245. This can be done through System->Advanced I if memory serves.
I encountered a problem a couple of years ago on one of our remote sites (no IT person onsite). We had reports of network connectivity issues with Windows 7 computers onsite. All non Windows 7 computers (XP, Vista, etc) were connected to the same LAN, same switch, with no problems. We noticed...
Fractal Design Define XL?
10 x 3.5" bays
4 x 5.25" bays
The case includes a single 5.25" -> 3.5" bracket and you could always convert the other bays using a 4 in 3.
Yeah, I think I was wrong. I was aware of some scenarios. Maybe it is only USB datastores that are not allowed which is why mine did not allow it.
AIO at the moment has:
PVR VM: Single card but dual TV tuner passed through. Running tvheadend which my XBMC HTPC connects to.
Storage VM...
Your setup is similar to mine:
ESXi AIO: E3-1240 V2 | Supermicro X9SCM-F | 16 GB Kingston ECC | M1015 | 2 x ST3000DM001 | 6 x HD204UI | Fractal Design Define XL | TBS 6280 Dual DVB-T2
I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but I don't think you can install ESXi and have a datastore...
Try DVD Shrink. You can specify a target size and can reauthor the DVD to pull out the main movie into an ISO file or other format. Reauthoring a film with zero compression only takes about 5-10 minutes. Reencoding one using Handbrake will take longer and you have 700 to do.
You can also pull...
TheSpoon, I've just read through the latest posts in your thread. I'm going to try removing the hdd, taking it out and away from the case altogether.
The hdds have always been laid flat during operation.
My tests comprise of duplicating a 2.4 GB file full of alphanumeric characters. Last night...
Time for an update on this thread.
I have since purchased and built a HTPC. Here is the spec:
ASUS P8H67--M PRO
i3 2120
8GB Corsair XMS3
It has one 500 GB Seagate 7200.12 HDD which is not suffering from any problems. SATA mode is set to AHCI. Two of the Samsung drives have been tested in this...
You need to go into the tools menu and disable the firmware override. Because of the problems this drive had it doesn't query the smart info by default.
I have read of people having a lot of issues flashing the firmware but I have run it about 3-4 times per drive. I even did it the other day by plugging in one drive only and running the update. All times I have received a message saying it was successful.
I am at a loss on this. I think my...
Time for an update.
My second large copy on Ubuntu returned two write errors after about 300 GB so I stopped it. The previous copy was copying to an ext4 partition whereby this one was an existing NTFS partition. Not sure if this would make a difference.
This evening I installed Intel Rapid...
I have tried another SATA cable and also enabled AHCI and disabled write caching in Windows. The write errors continue to increase. I didn't restart after disabling the write cache on the disks as I was not prompted. I will try this later.
Back on Ubuntu here is the output of smartctl on one of...
The copy finished (1.5 TB) within Ubuntu with no increase in write errors :S
I downloaded smartmontools from Ubuntu's APT so it should be the latest version. It is recognising the SMART attribute 200 0xC8 as Write error rate rather than the Multi zone error rate. It is identical to...
Can anyone offer any advice on the latest in this saga?
I have access to another one of these HDD's from a different retailer (different mfr date as well). All three have had the firmware update applied several times. All three are showing increasing write errors. These errors have caused some...
I have just experienced similar behaviour.
I have a P6T with two internal Samsung HD204UI's and one more in a USB 3 caddy. I installed Windows 7 in IDE mode and was getting consistent 100-120 read write speeds between these drives. A few weeks ago I used the same KB article to switch to AHCI...
Hi,
I have two Samsung HD204UI HDD's. Both of these show an increasing number of write errors via SMART (C8 - Write Error Rate) (as you can see below).
On one drive the raw data is 29 and the other is over 50. The current/worst values on both of the drives are still at the original 100. There...
Thanks. I've undervolted it to 1.3. I've also disabled CnQ. It hasn't affected the idle temp but the load temps dropped 2c. That coupled with a little more airflow may do the trick. I may purchase a couple of higher CFM fans to replace these low noise ones.
BIOS reads voltage as 1.344. MSI Overclocking Center and CPU-Z read it as 1.352.
I've never overclocked a machine so do not know the answer to this. How much of an impact will that have on temps over the max 1.335 you suggested?
BIOS is fully up-to-date already. v1.4.
The temps when read through Windows were via a AMD Overdrive and MSI Overclocking Center.
The case is an NZXT alpha.
Room temp is probably about 20c. It's been pretty cold outside these past few days.
Both fans were running at full speed. The Zalman's full speed is around 2600 RPM.
Hi,
I've built a PC for my sister.
MSI 790FX-GD70 with a Phenom II X4 955 BE. I see on AMD's website that it has a maximum rating of 62c.
It is not overclocked.
I purchased a Zalman CNPS10X cooler for the machine but found that it would not fit in the case due to a side panel fan and that it...
Hey all,
Right, I know that this is now no more in Server 2008 and that it has been replaced by Windows Server Backup.
Is there any way of doing streaming Exchange backups/restores with Server 2008? I really want to avoid purchasing a plugin for my backup software.
Found it myself. It was the posting_layout.html file.
It allows you to use <!-- INCLUDE filename --> to add extra content.
Perfect!
Closing the thread now.
Hi all,
Quick question, which file do I have to edit (and which part of it) to add an extra section within the "posting" page of a phpbb forum?
When you are on the posting page (posting.php) you see several sections. The header, post body, upload/bbcode section, and then the footer. I would...
Ok. The Intel Storage Utility was reporting it as "Rebuilding...35% complete" etc. The last I saw it was on 77%. Now it has returned to saying "Missing Hard Drive Member".
Can anyone help?
I've got a server which has recently had a drive failure. I've replaced the failed drive with an identical drive. In the Intel RAID utility (the one during statup) it says that the RAID 1 array is currently rebuilding itself and both of the physical drives are recognised.
When I go into the...
Should I have to specifically set the Xbox settings to HD?
All I can change is the resolution and it comes up with a message saying that I must use a HD cable to view in HD. Obviously. I've set it to 1024 x 720 at the moment.
I remember having to select HD when I took my console round to a...
I have checked C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Connections before, but nothing above it.
I will have another search. It seems as though I was roughly there.
Cheers.
Hi,
I am assuming that all VPN connections and their settings are stored as files.
If so, where are these located? I don't mean the connection icons in Network Connections, but the actual files.
Regards,
Michael.
