We had a Spanish kid over on exchange back in 2007. The only thing he wanted was to get the last HP book on release at midnight. The town was absolutely heaving with kids, all under the age of sixteen running around, some dressed up all shouting with quite a few parents cursing the name JK...
Note books do graphics too. An interesting take on kaby lake g v gpp.

Did nVidia order Asus"? ...they made Asus and all the other AIBs an offer they couldn't refuse. So effectively yes nVidia did.
So no choice for Asus. ROG ...Asus premium gaming brand HAD to become a nVidia exclusive ...or else! [to understand what the 'or else' actually would entail, I suggest...
You see, right there, you're blaming one of the victims, AMD, for the injury [that will be] caused to them by nVidia's GPP.
The lack of an AMD direct competitor to the 1080 ti does not mean that the rest of the AMD line up is not equal to or better than the nVidia equivalent. Nor does it...

arez STRIX GAMING is probably not the complete "fuck you AMD ...hahahaha" that nVidia was hoping for from ASUS.
nVidia has already abonded sli for 1060 level gpu and lower. No collusion necessary ...one firm announces ...the other follows shortly after.
As for gysnc ....I would have thought it possible for the cpu to 'detect' the monitor in use ...if gysnc ...then....
Hmmmm ...AMD/Intel could quite legitimately 'abandon' SLI support and block the propreitry GSYNC in favour of the freely available industry standard of Freesync.
That would get nVidia's attention.
Such perfectly legitimate measures might be a quicker cheaper means of persuading nVidia to drop...
Unfortunately for nVidia, AMD is 30% of the gpu market. And no company willingly throws away 30% of their sales. That would be just as daft as allowing a third party supplier company to dictate what you can and can't do with your own branded products.
Remember when the HD5*** series came out? nVidia's entire line upto but not including the GTX295 went EOL.... rendered obsolete. nVidia had nothing for six months til the gtx 480 came out ....which set the benchmark for hot, loud and power hungry gpus [nVidia fanbois were scarred for life by the...
Several questions for you
Who owns the premium brands ....who does the ROG brand actually belong to?
Future supply of nVidia chips was threaten if AIBs did not sign up. Is that a threat or just an kindly invitation to join in your mind?
If they have 'bought' the ROG brand from Asus ....what...
Is this the destination you had in mind?

ASrock gpu coming soon. Likely to be AMD inside
https://wccftech.com/asrock-teases-phantom-gaming-graphics-cards-likely-amd-radeon-powered/
Guess who owns ASrock?
You're argument might ....and I stress the might.... have had merit if you were talking about a pre Ryzen AMD. But you're not. Ryzen has given AMD both sales...More Money... and renewed confidence. Infact even the pre Ryzen AMD was not a company in financial difficulty. Their debt was managed...
So ROG belongs to Asus. Hence
ROG + Geforce
ROG + Radeon
However, if Asus sign up to nVidia GPP then there can only be
ROG + Geforce.
Now ....ROG belongs to nVidia!
Is it really so hard to see why there is an issue with GPP?
Except there are consequences should an AIB?OEM say no. So it is not 'voluntary' in any way that you or I would recognise. Or, for that matter, a court of Law.
A case of design aesthetics trumping function.
There's the nice tempered glass at the front giving you a nice view of the fans spinning all lit up. Why would you want to obscure that with filters ...which after a day or so a covered in a film of dead skin particles!?
The people who design...
If the amount sold = the amount produced then AMD = v.happy.
Would AMD like to up production now? Of course but as others have said they would then risk being left with a shed load of excess stock if the mining craze dies before that extra production is sold. The mining craze basically...
Ranger ...you not going to get much mileage posting dumb shit like that [if a joke/sarcasm ...missed it].
What I take away is that in 8 of 10 games Ryzen is only between less than 1 frame to 4 frames behind the 7700k @ 1080p It seems after 2 months Ryzen is indeed settling in and you now need...
You have to bear in mind that ever since the Fermi days, when the gtx 480 caused the Sun to break out into a sweat while the Moon's ears bled, nV fanbois have had a particular bee in their collective bonnets regarding power, heat and noise.
So in comparing Pro cards to Consumer versions the only optimisation Raja's talking about are driver optimisations? That's your interpritation, no fact.
But let's suppose you're right. The only change from Pro to Consumer is the driver ...then RX Vega clocked at 1600 isn't going to be any slouch!
You were talking clocks. "less clocks".
The Frontier Edition clocks at 1600.
You stated RX Vega will be "at less clocks" compared to the Frontier.
Raja stated RX Vega will be faster than Frontier.
I was responding to your assertion that
"Frontier edition, will be the fastest compute output of all the Vega's. That puts gaming vega's at less clocks or are cut down versions (I think its the prior as they have shown those types of cards to public already)"
So wind your patronising neck...
Elmnator: Will the consumer RX version be as fast at the Frontier version?
RK: Consumer RX will be much better optimized for all the top gaming titles and flavors of RX Vega will actually be faster than Frontier version!
Well if we're going to play at that sort of speculation...
1. I'd expect the leaks to start about now... 3 weeks out from a launch.
2. The best at deafening silence of late has been nVidia ...slipping out their full fat GP102 biggest bestest gpu to absolutely no fanfare whatsoever. For a gpu...
I've got to laugh at how 50% of those voting think that Vega performance will have gone backwards as AMD have finished the product over the last few months from that shown at CES(?).
I know someone mentioned this earlier in the thread but one of the real tests really should be a game live stream. There have been one or two Y/T vids about this already and it was one the selling points of Ryzen put forward by AMD.
Clearly it doesn't have to be every game... I'd nominate BF1...
The only early review I've seen is this one for the 1400
Equal to or beating the 7400.... doing so with far less cpu utilization in most games. Not official of course but still...
