Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Here is an odd issue that maybe someone here can shed some light on.
At work, we are running 23" Asus PB238 monitors on HP T310 zero clients. We've had several zero clients fail with no DVI output (known issue about a bad diode and HP is replacing the affected units)
The issue is, we...
Check out what I just bought at a thrift store :
Asus P7P55 WS Supercomputer Motherboard
Intel Core i7 870 2.93GHz
KVR1333D3N9K2/4G x2 (4x2gb dimms - 8 gb)
How much ?
Picked it up for $100
Question becomes, what to do with it ?
Does anyone know of any good Desktop-style ATX cases with high HSF clearance ? I want to get a smaller case. I currently have a Cooler Master CM690. I'm looking for enough clearance to fit my Noctua D-14, so around 175mm.
I found the Cooler Master HAF XB RC-902XB-KKN1. Its close, but...
Looks cool. Waiting for an invite from Ingress. I have a friend whose playing and even though we are in middle of nowhere, Northern Ontario, there are 1/2 dozen people playing so far.
I'm looking into an external hard drive for a small office to store files on. Going to use at least 2 x 2TB drives in Raid 1. Read/Write performance is important. Anyone know the best options out there ? Or at least a good review amongst them ? LaCie, Buffalo, WD ? Thanks.
I'm looking for a new OS to try. I'm runing VM's of Ubuntu and Haiku and they seem pretty nice. I'm looking for a lightweight OS to run in place of WinXP on my old laptop (Pentium M 1.7, 1GB ram) Its really just for the internet and easy to use for my 8yr old. (also doesn't' hurt to get her...
PC2-5300u = non-ECC, unbuffered
PC2-5300e = ECC
PC2-5300p = Parity
PCs-5300r = Registered
PC2-5300f = Fully Buffered
I know that FB dimm's end slots and pins are offset from a normal PC2-5300 module. Thats why the pins on the FB DIMM (one with heatsink) don't line up...
Since chrome updated to 19, I can no longer right-click on my bookmarks bar and 'open all bookmarks'. The option is still there, but greyed out. Anyone else run into this or have a fix ?
Any one know of any easy audio editing software/freeware ? My 7-yr old likes a song and I want to either strip the lyrics from one part, or cut it out all together. I'm working with an MP3 file.
I've got a Microsoft Wireless 6000 using the bluetooth adaptor on my motherboard. (all drivers updated) At least daily I try using the keyboard and it won't respond, nothing types on the screen. I've tried turning the KB off & on, no change. The simplest fix I've found is to right click on...
Not sure if this is a video card or monitor issue. When I resume my PC, it has sometimes displayed my desktop on the first 2/3rds of the screen (from left to right) then the next third shows the 1st third of my desktop (start button, icons etc, will get screenshot posted next time it happens)...
AFAIK as long as its a socket 1155 chip, it will work on any almost any socket 1155 motherboard. Usually the only issue if its a newer chip is a BIOS update for the motherboard.
The RPC-4220 is just a case. You need a motherboard/CPU/Ram/OS to set this up as a file server. It'd connect to your network and show up as a network drive. There are RAID cards with that many ports from Adaptec or LSI, but they are in the $800-$1000 range. The backplane is just what the hard...
I just upgraded (see sig, video card will be upgraded soon ...) I realized as I was building the system that my old (reliable though) PATA burner wasn't gonna work due to lack of PATA port on the P8P67. I used an Asus SATA reader that I had and it ran quick enough during windows install, after...
Thanks for the idea Snowknight26. And you were right. I found this site
that pointed me to Dell's DataSafe software. Once disabled that from running, the screens are maximizing fine now. Thanks !
