Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I'd like to get a controller that automatically adjusts the case fans as the temps increase. Does something like the bitfenix recon do that? I'd like to get where my fans don't run on high all the time, but I don't have to remember to turn them up or down when gaming.
I recently purchased the same motherboard and processor. I'm happy with both and went with the Seasonic G series 550 power supply at Danny's suggestion.
The auto OC button on the motherboard took the processor to 4.2. Not too shabby for a button click.
I set up server 2012 this weekend and I'd like to add the VPN role so I can get to my home network from work. I use a pci Intel nic in it for the internal network. Would it be better to use the onboard nic for the vpn and a second ip address? Or does it matter since I have to use port...
I ended up finding a used q6700 and bought another 2 TB WD green drive. I installed server 2012 because I could. Still sorting it out. I hadn't ever messed with it before. It's a little different.
I have a Dell windows 8 pro tablet that will be deployed to a remote jobsite. It is part of the domain and will be logged into with domain accounts. We'd like to lock it down so that users can only get to the one website that they'll be using for work. The family safety controls, look perfect...
If you want to do anything other than the basic random pub matches, you'll need a joystick. Keyboard and mouse is stupid simple in this game though since the game does most of the flying for you.
Well, got it done. had a few minor issues with cable length due to the large case and the thermalright was more challenging than I expected, but I'm happy. it's running super smooth.
Got all my parts in. Build party tonight!
The 600t is freaking HUGE! I'm going to have to modify by desk a little bit to get it to fit. I didn't think about worrying about depth when I ordered it.
I've got an ancient Canon document scanner that has a SCSI connection. The user that would like to use it has a laptop, so moving the SCSI card won't work. Does anyone know of a usb (or esata) to scsi adapter/cable?
Downloaded this the other night, thanks to this thread. I spent a lot of time on World of Tanks. I am in the closed beta for WoWP and wasn't nearly as impressed with that as I am with War Thunder. I really like this game.
Order placed. I went with the 600t. In the end, it just looked cool.
went with this video card: http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Overvoltage-N660TI-PE-2GD5/dp/B008SBX6GI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361571949&sr=8-1&keywords=msi+660ti
also went with the thermalright cooler. it looks HUGE...
It's finally time to upgrade the system in my signature, which was initially put together in 2008.
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? Etc
Websurfing, gaming (BF3 and World of Tanks primarily)
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included...
the e2200 has been fine. I'm starting to think I may just wait on the server and throw that cash at my desktop upgrade. It's the server or a new video card. New video card might just win out.
If it helps, the current processor is an Intel Pentium E2220 Allendale 2.4GHz. I'm leaning toward the cheaper AMD setup as this budget affects a pc upgrade I'll be doing at the same time.
I'm going to upgrading my server at home in the next couple of weeks and am not sure which way to go. Primary use is file server plus media streaming. I run Mezzmo on it for DLNA streaming. OS will either be WHS 2011 or Windows server 2012. Is there enough performance improvement in...
I found a pre-written script and with some googling got it to work. I used this: http://webandtechguy.com/technology-blog/scripting-blog/90-vbs-scripting/90-checking-for-backdoor-admin-accounts-on-ad-domain
Does anyone have an easy app that will scan a domain for local admin privileges on desktops? I've seen some scripts that will do this, but I'm a real dummy when it comes to scripting.
I have a similar system, except I have an e6750 for a processor. I upgraded to a gtx 460 and an SSD. I can run BF3 at medium to high settings at 1080p.
I have my speakers plugged into the output the headphones would use on the card.
I'm not really worried about SQ with my headphones as much as I am what works better for the computer. Leaving the onboard sound enabled, or using a cheap USB soundcard only when using the headphones.
I had a nerd victory last night and got my Sondigo Inferno working in Windows 8. The only problem is that it doesn't have a header for the front panel headphone jack. I only use headphones occasionally, mostly when I want to use the mic playing BF3. Am I better off leaving the onboard sound...
Bought both the k60 and m60. Gaming is definitely better on the k50 than my old keyboard. Still getting used to typing on it though. Love the m60. it works well for me.
