Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Did you ever get it fixed? I just installed windows 11 24h2 on a new build, and have the exact same issue.
Updated bios, tried different drivers, modified power plan etc.
One thing I think has hurt gaming, is the artificial capping of VRAM. Back in the day, VRAM would double pretty quickly for high end cards, the 1080 launched with 8gb over 10 years ago, but the 5080 just launched with 16gb. 10 years to double the VRAM is unacceptable.
I wonder what games would...
It's another example of management failure at Intel from so long ago. Their drivers were beyond trash even when the intel iGPUs were comically slow.
They had the perfect opportunity to develop and mature drivers, and scale up the GPUs from the bottom up, after dialing in performance of iGPUs...
Exactly, It was common knowledge that they would rip off your IP, plus require a majority chinese state owned venture for foreign companies to do business in China.
Even with all that, western companies lined up and did business there anyway.
Hard to blame China in that regard, in that these...
Yeah, the CPI is the one most people and the Govt uses to refer to as a measure of inflation, the one I was referring to.
Pretty big divergence between the old 1980 based vs the current metrics.
Just wanted to add, now pretty much all official US data is as cooked as the official data that was coming out of the USSR.
Check out the https://www.shadowstats.com/ version of inflation, unemployment etc
Shadowstats still calculates inflation the way it was calculated years ago, before it was...
I wish this was a sane world, and NVidia would just take the L, and admit the new connector is garbage.
Design a new connector with bigger pins/wires, that isn't operating on the razors edge with no safety margin. There's no excuse for the richest company to continue pushing it at this point.
Really amazing. Intel didn't just fail with Larrabee for AI/GPU, but even their Phi series, which was also an interesting platform was killed off, and they bought several AI companies and screwed them up too.
I'd love to see a figure for how much Intel management wasted through share buybacks...
It would have been an instabuy for me if it was dual 3dvcache CCDs so there wouldn't be all the scheduling issues, even if I had to pay a bit more. Maybe they will give us the option with zen6.
I really hate Nvidia crippling cards on VRAM. It makes it that much harder for developers to finally target 16gb when they are still shoving these out. It seems crazy that the 1080 ti was 11gb, and 16gb isn't even standard at the midrange yet.
Interesting, Nvidia allows AIBs to go buck wild in pricing, pre-scalping gamers, then offers this. Maybe they are going to ramp up founders editions?

What's worse than Nvidia proposing this garbage connector, is they got it accepted as a standard.
I'm hoping there is enough blowback we get a real solution, instead of more can kicking.
Redesign the connector so its safe, or go back to the 8pins.
If board partners had the freedom to offer other connectors, I'm sure we would see people willing to pay an extra 5$ or whatever it would cost.
I'd pay more to have connectors with a sane margin of safety.
Do you guys think demand for 5090s for AI use will be reduced, now that they announced the Digits system with 128gb of ram for 3k?
Maybe wishful thinking, but hoping that some of the workstation/AI demand will go there, so we have a chance at getting a 5090
Crazy that you would have to potentially pay more for a 3rd party card, just to avoid coil whine.
I've had cards in the past with it, and its annoying.
Der8auer also noted coilwhine in his review, so doesn't sound like an isolated sample.
Having coil whine on a 2k card is some bs.

I've only seen a couple of reviews so far, but haven't seen one where someone limits the power or tried to undervolt it. I'm interested as well, that is a ton of heat for a small room.
At this point, I thought it would make sense for AMD to get really aggressive with their prices, in order to attempt to maintain marketshare and have enough volume to maintain and possibly grow R&D.
Trying to price at 50 bucks or whatever below the comparable green team card won't work for now.
Thanks for the heads up, I've never owned a Palit or Gainward either, and don't know of anyone personally who has either. Maybe they are bigger brands in Europe?
I did some digging, and apparently the heatkiller V ultra even beat the optimus block in the 4090s.
I used to buy EVGA, what 3rd party boards are generally considered better quality than a default reference nowadays? I don't mind spending a little bit more for higher quality
HL Alyx is an amazing experience in VR, you should give it a go. I think we still need another gen or two to up the refresh rate and resolution on headsets to take it to next level.
The reference cards are usually pretty good quality nowadays, plus, they usually have great support for waterblocks. I'm leaning that way this generation.
