Thanks. My only remaining question is I wonder how easy it is to return this TV if I buy it from the LG site. If I get the 42" and it is just too big for me to get used to and I want to send it back.
ugghhhh Can't decide if I should pull the trigger or wait for the WBE panel. Probably has zero difference on the 42".. but i have waited this long might as well wait a couple more months...
Vincent at Value Electronics mentioned on a recent stream with Stop the Fomo on youtube that he wasn't expecting to see the 42" C2 Oled until July. He typically is one of the first to receive new stock so I think we will be waiting for these 41" TVs for a few more months. Anyone remember...
I also would prefer the Asus due to the displayport, antiglare and heatsink on the monitor, however, I don't see this Asus monitor being released before Q4 2022. The LG new LG TV's don't typically becoming available until the May time frame. Then you have to wait for Asus to add all their...
I am hoping the increased pixel density on the 42" OLEDs will make up for the less clear text of the WRGB panel. Or at least make it a bit better than the 48". Kinda like the older pentile displays on Samsung phone OLEDS. Eventually the pixels get so small it doesn't matter anymore.
THIS. Another reason I haven't pulled the trigger is that they will put a 120hz version on the market in the next year right after I buy this one. I am going to wait and see what companies announce at CES this January before making a final decision. Also, hopefully there will be better...
The 60hz refresh rate I consider less of an issue than lack of any VRR. I wish the monitor had some sort of VRR or Freesync even if it was just in the 40-60hz range like the early 4k monitors did. I doubt my GPU could push 4k at 90 to 100 FPS without turning the settings down anyway.
Thanks! Do you own this monitor? How is it for gaming? I have a 1440p 144hz VA monitor now that I use VRR with. I am not sure how I will feel going back to 60hz and vsync again... Its funny because that is the way I gamed for decades and now I feel spoiled by VRR. However, I only game at...
I doubt LG would suddenly segment their TVs like that. Even the B1 OLEDS still get VRR and HDMI 2.1 The 48" C1 still has all the same features as its larger versions.
I am really looking forward to the 42" OLED for my PC. I think it would have all the same specs as the regular 'C' series OLED TVs that LG has come out with these past several years. The only thing that annoys me is that LG will probably announce the 42" at CES this January but then you wont...
hmmm still can't buy the LG 32EP950 Oled monitor anywhere yet.... B&H keeps pushing back the availability date. Wonder if this is covid related or some other issue manufacturing this monitor.
I read the TFT article. They didn't mention availability that I saw. Not much to go on other than the 'End of May' that Asus mentioned. Looks like Microcenter at least has a page up for it at $2,999 but it is listed as sold out.
I saw the optimum tech review. I was disappointed with the fan noise. I wish we had a better idea when the 42" LG OLED TVs would be released because I think I would lean to that at this point even though 42" is still probably too big for me.
Agreed. 48" is just too darn big for me for my PC. I know LG is supposed to come out with a 42" OLED TV late this year/early next. I think that would be closer to what I could handle in size, but still think it might be too big. I have played around with 43" monitors at Microcenter and even...
Looks like tftcentral had a minor update on their site for the PG32UQX. Looks like it doesn't come with HDMI 2.1 due to being incompatible with the gysnc module. However, it looks like at one point there was a pre-order link on Asus' site with a price of $2,999. I checked the site for the...
Well I just saw on tftcentral that the Asus ProArt version of this monitor (It appears to have the same high refresh rate panel with 1152 zones) has a bit of an update. The Asus website says 'coming soon'. It also looks like it was updated with HDMI 2.1. Hopefully the delay in this gaming...
I don't recall seeing that. The only panel that I saw confirmed to start manufacturing this year was the 42" panel. The 30" and below panel sizes I believe they said were 'planned' but no firm timeline was given.
True. But LG Display said only the 42inch panel size is coming in 2021 which means LG Electronics will probably announce the 42inch TV at 2022 CES. So we are still at least a year away from getting a 42inch TV. Smaller sizes will be even further away.
I think that it is a given that it will be a 42" TV. If LG Display is making the panels then it will be a WRGB pixel structure which won't look as good for text when using it as a computer monitor. It won't stop people from using it as a computer monitor though...
well i guess we all do have patience since we have already been waiting over a year since this monitor has been announced and it looks like we have another 5-6 months to go...
Yeah. I am thinking the same thing. 48 inch is still too big. But i can probably make due with a 42... Too bad they probably wont be out until the end of 2021.
Well the Asus CES presentation went by and no mention of the PG32UQX. Hopefully some news breaks in the next couple of days. I just want a little bit of an update at least....
Pretty certain to be 60hz if they didn't mention anything. Also, I'm guessing since it is a pro monitor my guess is that it will be $4,999 as a price. Also, by "soon" I bet it will be available in the 2nd half of 2021. But maybe I a bit jaded ;-)
Well LG Display announced they will start making a 42 OLED TV in 2021. Something tells me it won't be until late 2021 that TV manufacturers start selling the TV in that size though. So the wait continues... When does ASUS present at CES?
Thanks. CES is nice to see new tech but I feel like anything that is announced at CES is still a year out in terms of the PC monitor space. This Asus monitor was announced at last years CES and it still isn't out yet.
I am not into ultrawide monitors and I wanted something with better...
The new Dell UP3221Q monitor caught my eye as well. Its got 2000 zone mini-led backlight with an IPS panel. I think that would be the only monitor that could come close to this OLED. Its $4,999 which is what the original price of this dell OLED was supposed to be. Very expensive but you...
