Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I have been doing research for a HIGH-END graphics LCD as well lately and I too will be using it with a 2008 Mac Pro. In short, I have read many reviews, comments from owners, etc. that use the same category type LCD for graphics and the bottom line is there are really just 4 companies to...

Do you or anyone else know if the NEC spectraview II software and colormeter package are Mac OS 10.5 (leopard) compatible? I tried to get someone from NEC to answer, but their customer service is really not easy to get through to. In fact, most that pick up the phone have no clue what...
I just wanted to follow-up on your post so no one is confused. From what I have been told by NEC and according to their official web site, the NEC states "Achieves 76% Adobe RGB coverage". See link below, your specs on the NEC are wrong.
Link...
I wanted to reply about your comments above regarding the LaCie. There is a difference besides the colormeter/software and not just rebranded. If you look at the specs for LaCie, you will note there is near 100% color of the Adobe RGB. They have spent extra money on making it VERY color accurate...
I don't have a colormeter at the moment, but certainly need one for my work with this monitor. Can you or someone else point me to a link where they sell the hardware and software for the NEC 2490 monitor, I looked at places like newegg and couldn't find it. Would you recommend this NEC package...
Thanks for your reply, those are good thoughts I may not have made first hand. NEC certainly has had a very good reputation for many years and like you said, build monitors for specific needs for different users. I am leaning that way more, see post above.
Thanks for your post, that is VERY useful information about the LaCie which I did not know. Given what you said about the color gamut and managed software to take full advantage, I am certainly going to look into it. If I can get 85% of the performance from the NEC I will certainly go that route.
Nice review, thanks for posting. I have seen some reviews go up on newegg.com and buy.com which everyone has given 5 stars to. One guy said you can game on it just fine playing HL2 and Portal with no lag at all. It's not a gaming monitor, but at least a couple of people have said you can if...
Hello,
I am seeking personal help for choosing a new 24 inch HIGH-END LCD monitor for my Mac Pro (2008) and PC. Due to business, I will be switching using a KVM between the two systems so that won't be an issue.
What I need the new monitor for the most is doing 3D art work/design, some...
You posted so QUICK, I wasn't able to clean it up. All I did was a quick copy & paste from another site and I then went back to clean it up, yes, I did read those rules.
I am selling a great little PC bundle and have EXCELLENT feedback rating elsewhere. The ad will run until sold.
Asking price is $350 or best offer plus shipping cost listed below. Note, shipping cost is fixed due to weight and size.
Here is the ad:
This is a custom built Windows PC, detailed...

About #3, you are right in that would sort of defeat the whole iMac thing with consolidation and the sexy look of the iMac. I guess if I have to go MacPro I will, but I would rather try it via network as you mentioned. I will look into this some more to see what the details are before...
I wanted to clarify this before closing it out in this post. What I meant by "Dell trashing Vista for XP" was that Dell doesn't like Vista at all due to all of its issues, but still offer it of course since it's still being made by Microsoft. Again though, if you listen to the podcasts they give...
I had no idea people were so FANATICAL over defending Microsoft or any OS for that matter. Anyway, I have made my points and pointed out the details and info coming from the podcasts mentioned and on various web sites. Bottom line is if you are happy great no one cares but you what OS you use...
I'm going to have to fully disagree with you there. Listen to TWIT and some of the other podcasts like Steve Gibson on Vista. They have said and others know companies such as Dell are trashing Vista due to it's horrid issues NOT because of any testing/dev, etc. but rather because Vista is junk...
Just to make it clear from my ORIGINAL post, one of the replies here is correct in the TWIT podcast this week had a verbal mistake when Leo meant to say XP would be discontinued now in June instead of early next year like they first said NOT Vista. It wasn't until I listed to that portion 3...
For those of you that don't listen to the TWIT (This Week In Tech - one of the best there is) podcast, Leo and some others this week are saying Microsoft may be admitting defeat in the next year. Companies are DEMANDING to use XP Pro SP2 over anything Vista as it has been a HUGE nightmare for...
Firemane/Brian:
Thank you for taking the time to post a very nice reply and help me out. I'm pretty good with the PC and have learned what I need there for upgrading, but the Apple OS and upgrades is uncharted for me. Your advice has helped though and I have just a few more for you please...
I've decided that with all the issues with Windows Vista and Microsoft pulling the plug they say in June 2008 that it's time to shop Mac in 2008 for a new PC.
This PC will be used mainly for home and home office type use and will require it to be on my home network. I've read many articles...
You may want to check out the Replay Converter software, it's not free but you can try before you buy. I've used it for some time and it works quite well for iPod, PSP and others. Here's the link:

I can confirm for a fact that it's not just the Soundblaster X-Fi having the audio "scream" problem nor is it just Vista. Let me state that I've been using Creative Labs sound cards since the 90s with nearly never an issue at all. However in late 2004 I got a Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS to go with...
Hello,
I'm not sure if this is the right forum area to post this so please move it if not.
I know how to do basic webcam setup, but I'm looking for help and ideas for doing the following (which is fairly complex) for my business needs.
1. I need either multiple webcams or a motorized AND...
If staying with Canon, I would HIGHLY recommend the new Canon 850IS. It's 8 mega pixels with image stabilization. I have bought Canon the past two times and like them as well. It's a good camera at a pretty decent price.
You may also want to check out the new Sony Cybershot with 12 mega...
