I Purchased The Creative Sound BlasterX AE-5 Plus Pure Edition But I Use 2.1 Corsair SP2500 Speakers, Have I Wasted My Money?

The Headphone output has higher gain modes to drive headphones that need more power. You would set the gain higher in the "Headphones Configuration" area. There is no reason to connect the headphone out to the SP2500. The headphone output just has a dedicated headphone amplifier to help drive...

I Purchased The Creative Sound BlasterX AE-5 Plus Pure Edition But I Use 2.1 Corsair SP2500 Speakers, Have I Wasted My Money?

    - I switch between speakers and headphones. So being able to just open a software panel and switch is nice. - The AE-5's virtual 7.1 headphone stuff only activates on the headphone output. Not that I often use SBX, but it can be handy in the right game. - It's not louder. My Drop/Hi-Fi HE-5xx's...

    For a 100hz monitor...

Your not seeing as many with 100hz because it's probably one of the least compatible Hz ratings around. Consoles tend to want 60 or 120hz displays and while PC's can do just about anything...120Hz and faster is far more common. The thing you heard about headaches... never heard that before. I...

I Purchased The Creative Sound BlasterX AE-5 Plus Pure Edition But I Use 2.1 Corsair SP2500 Speakers, Have I Wasted My Money?

Sorry for the confusion there. I have my headphones directly connected to the AE-5's headphone output, as I think it sounds better than the SP2500's control pod's headphone connection. The SP2500's are connected to the regular speaker output. Yeah the Z5500 are awesome. Shame PC speakers of...

I Purchased The Creative Sound BlasterX AE-5 Plus Pure Edition But I Use 2.1 Corsair SP2500 Speakers, Have I Wasted My Money?

He doesn't need optical and the SP2500 would give the Z5500 a very good run for their money as they both tor down a house . The SP2500's are heavily underrated and mostly forgotten. But they go toe to toe with the better known Klipsch 2.1 Pro Media's and Logitechs Z2300's of it's era. I...

    Assassin's Creed Shadows

... yes because two of the most popular pieces of media about/set in Japan this year weren't about a non-Japanese white dude in Japan... oh wait... SHOGUN & Tokyo Vice both were. But I get it. You don't like the character, thats fine.

    Assassin's Creed Shadows

Yasuke's been featured in Japanese games, anime and manga tons of times for many many years. I swear, the hyper sensitively to woke crap is making this feel extremely stupid. Especially with AC and all it's shenanigans as it's toyed and played around with historical stuff through out it's entire...

AMD patents configurable multi-chiplet GPU — illustration shows three dies

That's due to nVidia and CUDA. Not really because AMD has a problem or can't handle it well. That said, Red Shift started supporting Radeons starting with v3.5, V3.6?... abit lol. Mostly because they have started to move beyond being locked into CUDA.

After a fresh OS install, do you update your drivers from the website directly or let Windows do it for you?

Combo. I usually let Windows update do its thing and then snag drivers directly for various elements (Mobo, GPU, Intel/AMD, Soundcard etc etc etc). Probably helps that I'm not running much of anything I expect Windows update to mess up. Prebuilt hardware from some one like Dell...after Windows...

    WTF MS?

Yes and no? They likely won't release an update to remove it, but your not going to be able to download or install it anymore from Microsoft. Plus the entirety of Windows 10 support ends in October of 2025 anyway. Plenty of time to upgrade though.

    Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57" 7680x2160 super ultrawide (mini-LED)

Likely due to oddities with nVidia and DSC. Switch to 8-bit colour and make sure your connected to HDMi 2 or 3 on the monitor and then see if you can make it work. RTings noted these sorta oddities as well. https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/samsung/odyssey-neo-g9-g95nc-s57cg95#test_10393

AMD CTO claims to have completed AI enablement of entire portfolio and 2024 is the deployment year

Maybe, maybe not. Could speculate to a DP4a fallback (like XeSS). With a further fallback to the non-AI method used in FSR 2/3. Providing a solution with an even broader reach.

    WTF MS?

And that is totally fair. But with the recent announcement of the sort of data Meta is going to start collecting on Quest users it is a potentially viable alternative as a wired solution. Especially if your already a PS5 owner.
  16. T

    WTF MS?

Sony bringing official PC support to the PSVR2 feels awfully tempting. Wired, but the specs on the headset alone is drool worthy for a VR headset. 4k 120Hz OLED HDR Eyetracking 110fov 🤤. Shame no one is really copying the knuckles concept from Valve :(

Microsoft set to announce DirectX DirectSR (Super Resolution) at GDC 2024

That might not be that odd of an idea. Apple's MetalFX use's elements of FSR for it's AI enhanced upscaler as well.

    SBX Sound Blaster command profile

I've never seen anywhere sharing them either. I'd venture a guess that Creative Labs doesn't really have the budget to keep making new profiles. Not that I personally use em... I usually just want the same level of SBX, with a touch of bass boost and leave the rest off. There is no game where...

What do we think of Sony moving away from OLED and back to LED?

I mean... he nails in the video. It 1000% is marketing and about doing bigger displays. If this was for the pro-market it would be a different story. But for the consumer market... it is marketing. To be able to do crazy large TV's that are already starting to get popular in other markets.

Thinking of switching out my 2080TI Kingpin but what to replace it with?

Now that supply issues are mostly sorted out and we are back to GPU's mostly continually dropping in price as they get older... that would be a very wise choice. Especially given that Radeon and GeForce hardware will likely see a big price drop when the GeForce Super series stuff comes out. (y)

Kioxia reportedly kills off 30-year-old Plextor brand — icon of the optical drive days spins up its last SSD

They are going with "Solid State Storage Technology (SSSTC)" instead of "Plextor"... that sounds crazy stupid. "Solid State Storage Technology (SSSTC)" sounds like a crappy generic dollar store product.

    Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57" 7680x2160 super ultrawide (mini-LED)

Very nice snoopi. Try going lower on the scale with DLSS. The display resolution is half of 8k, as it is essentially two 4k displays as a single unit, and DLSS Ultra Performance's entire reason for existence was to help with 8k. So at half of 8k.... might want to try DLSS performance and see how...

What are some good laptop speakers that have the capabilities of Surround Sound?

When stereo content is encoded/matrixed with Pro-Logic 2 it can be properly decoded to a real independently addressable 5.1 set of sound channels. It's very clever tech and can also be a nice tool if your trying to save space on an encode and don't want to loose surround on an audio track. It...

What are some good laptop speakers that have the capabilities of Surround Sound?

Allot of streaming services like say Netflix will encode the stereo with DolbyProLogic 2. Which a receiver can decode into 5.1. If your lucky, your PC might support DolbyDigital Live with ProLogic2 matrix encoding to do the same thing in real-time for gaming (or DTS's "Connect" with "Neo" that...

    Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Wasn't the digital format. It was because it was in 3D. Along with one of the first scenes being incredibly hard to watch in 3D... which was intentional for the scene (Waking up from "Hypersleep" into Zero G)... but it was kinda of a rough intro for people first experiencing something in 3D.

    TCL shows off 27" 8K 3D LED, 31" dome-shaped 3D OLED, and more at DTC 2023

The 3D in this case should be in quotation marks. Because its "3D" in the sense that the curve is not just horizontal, it's vertical as well. So its immersion is more "3D" than before.

Recommend me a great-sounding 2.1 speaker system for PC?

Why is it nearly impossible to find a monitor as good as the MacBook Pro's screen?

Because OLED. And OLED blows MiniLED outta the water... sorta... well least enough that we aren't likely going to see many manufactures push mini-LED much farther. At least not to the same sorta density as 2500 dimming zones on a 14" laptop screen. (For reference though, Because OLED is self...
