Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. did you calibrate it for your client? would love to know some settings. even if its for the 21" version.
regarding the base, at least on mine, the 24", it is very stable, can adjust up, down, tilt, and rotate to portrait view, and you can remove it by just unscrewing the screw on the bottom of...
i went to 2 costcos, guys, they did not have the acer. I would have gotten it for sure.
i am aware of the PQ limitations of the LED. however, i felt this was the best overall option and it was only $30 more than the non-LED version. It also comes with a fully adjustable stand that is not...
Thanks for the helpful review, NCX. I will see if they have it at the B&M store. I am usually apprehensive of acer, as the name has connotations of cheap hardware to me. But if they have it, I think i'll give it a shot!
Okay, so far I've had a
Dell S2309w (1 month),
a Samsung p2350 (3months), and
an HP 2509m (3 months).
I'm going back to Costco tomorrow to return the 2509m. It's been my favorite so far (it's glossy, bright and really vivid, and 2 inches bigger),tho i liked the higher resolution on the...
apparently my nvidia card was seeing it as a TV, changing it to a custom res, i realized i had to turn down the contrast to about 80.
then i found these settings for hp 2408
http://www.prad.de/en/monitore/review/2007/review-hp-w2408h-part11.html
sure enough, contrast should be 80
thanks diablo, i saw that, but as you say it is an input jack. the original poster was talking about outputing sound from the monitor to speakers. or did i misunderstand?
i just bought an hp 2509m and i am seeing the same issue of the rapid flickering (dimming and brightening). this may have to go back. should I try a new one or switch to samsung?
i would also be interested
what specs are you using?
i've got everything set to max
brightness and contrast at 100, color custom with r g and b set to 255 (max)
sharpness at 4 and video over drive and diynamic contrast off
looks pretty decent. it looked a little bleak out of the box, but...
impreza, can you post your friend's settings for the 2509m, especially the color settings. I just got one and i'm trying to get it dialed in. I am particularly interested in brightness, contrast, and color settings. thank you
LCD is better if you mostly watch tv with the lights on. that's what i do because i like to be able to do other stuff while watching and because i get eyestrain if i watch in a dark room.
also, all the guys that say LED doesn't improve picture quality, what do you thing about this statement...
ok i just had a horrible experience. i have my computer set to turn off the displays after a certain time. well, when running the custom resolution through nvidia, it turned off the display and it would not come back on. no signal through the dvi. i restarted the computer and the display...
i got a p2350 up to 75Hz. At least that's what the Nvidia says. I also checked the lcd's built in OSD, and it is also reporting 75hz.
However I am not noticing much of a difference. I remember on CRT's the difference between 60 and 75hz was quite noticeable.
Is there any way to check...
what would you recommend as an alternative to the 231wmi ?
i'm looking for something in that same size (or 24") and for about the same money ($300ish or hopefully less). any models i can look at? i'm an lcd noob
forgot to add. the 2350 has really bad backlight bleed. the dell had a little but nothing like this.
the dell is currently available for $209 with 3 year advance care from dell http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1833037
i bought this monitor from samsclub and it's ok but i would NOT recommen it. for one thing, i see pretty bad color banding on it. i will probably be returning this in a couple months and picking something else up from samsclub.
i'd recommend the dell s2309w, i believe it was called. i had it...
no. but there are good reviews on this forum, and the reseller's ratings look ok. although, some complain of long shipping times (esp. to california, but no Cali tax).
not quite answering your question, but here's a decent price on it:
http://www.provantage.com/nec-display-solutions-p221w-bk~7NEC90JH.htm
$322 + shipping, 30 day return
it uses your cpu to play 1080p x264 videos and there is no way to change that.
with media player classic, you can make a few small tweaks and have it run 1080p off your graphics card, and depending on how good the gpu is, you can also have it run filters.
so you get lower cpu usage and better...
yep, in another thread i was reading that in NY they have stores like J+R and H+R that carry some more advanced models--anything like that in LA? I'd figure that with the entertainment industry being in LA, there'd be some stores that would cater to it.
So far I've looked at bestbuy, frys, staples, office depot, costco and apple store. I am very underwhelmed by the selection and ability to test the monitors b4 buying.
Any good places where I can find some of the monitors i'm reading about on here? I'd really prefer to buy locally.
how long did it take from the time you ordered it to the time you got it from provantage?
How much was shipping?
I saw the price and the no CA tax, but then i read some bad reviews of provantage from CA customers. Saying that they ship to the product from their CA warehouse to the east...
Hi, I am in the market for my first LCD and I'm trying to learn as much as I can.
I recently bought a dell s2309w but had to return it because of this problem. Unclicked links in google that are supposed to be blue looked purple, (also certain greens and reds looked a little off). I spent...
