    Just got the Logitech G3!

I too am an ol' MX300 lover, and have been debating whether to go out on a limb and buy the G3 online or not. Does anyone know any brick and mortar stores that currently have them out on display? I've been to the usuals (Circuit City, Best Buy, etc.) but the G3 is no where to be found. My...

Viewsonic VX2025wm arrived! First impressions and pics

Mine should be arriving tomorrow, I'll be sure to try this out. I ordered it before I found this thread, and therefore before I there would be some problems with this monitor and my 7800GT. I've been kinda of sweating the purchase ever since, so this is really good news for me. I hope it works.

    FS: P4 2.4C with Heatsink - $80 shipped

I've had this chip running at 3.2Ghz on stock cooling/voltage for close to two years now (of course no OC is guaranteed), and have been very happy with it. Heatware can be found here: http://www.heatware.com/eval.php?id=46168 Thanks.

Higher Res. or Lower Res + AA/AF

Shimmering really bothers me for some reason, so if I had to choose between 1600x1200 no aa/af and 1280x960 4xaa/8xaa I'd definatley choose the later. Lucky I don't have to though, and run most of my games at 1600x1200 with aa/af. :)

    FS: P4 2.4C, Abit IC7, 9800 Pro - Priced to sell!

I've had a lot of pms asking me this, but unfortunatley this'll be the first time I'll have bought/sold anything on the forums, so what I'm going to do is - if you can prove to me that you are an honest buyer, I'll ship the item(s) first, and upon opening them and making sure that they work, you...

    FS: P4 2.4C, Abit IC7, 9800 Pro - Priced to sell!

    1) Intel Pentium 4 2.4C (800mhz FSB, Hyper-Threading) CPU: $80 I've had it running at 3.2Ghz for the past two years with the stock HS/Fan (which'll be included) and have never had a problem. It's the SL6Z3 core, which at the time of purchase (2 years ago) was the core to get for OC'ing. Check...

    Opty 146 question

My CAB2E 0546 GPAW is running at 2.8Ghz with stock cooling/voltage at the moment (100% stable of course) I'm not going to push it any farther untill I get some better cooling though, and it gets up to about 54C during Prime95. All I really wanted out of my 146 was to be able to hit FX-57 speeds...

CD-Rom won't read certain disks after upgrade (including my MB's driver disk)!

I just upgraded my system (PSU/MB/Video/Cpu) and after setting it all up and installing Windows, I pop in the disk that came with my MB only to have my CD-Rom speed up super fast, then slow down, then speed up super fast, then slow down, and so on indefinatley. During this my system becomes...

How much power am I going to need, really?

I upgrade my PC every two years, and since Feburary of '04 was the last time I upgraded, it's that time again. When choosing components I usualy look for what will give me the best bang for my buck, as opposed to the best performance out of the box. For instance I bought an Opteron 146 which...

    A couple of 7800gt and 1800xl questions..

That article makes the 1800xl seem very hit-or-miss. Though the fact they were able to get such a big increase in performance with just a driver update really speaks well of the x1000 series' memory controller, and I'd be eager to see what else they can pull off with it in future driver updates...

    A couple of 7800gt and 1800xl questions..

Like many people, I'm currently trying to decide between these two cards. Since neither card seems particularly faster than the other, my questions pertain mostly to IQ. 1) Looking at the screenshots in HardOCP's 1800xl review, ATI's high quality AF mode (where the filtering is non-angle...

    Life hits ABIT hard...

I find it amusing (sad?) people are using the IC7 as an example of what a great Abit board is. I've been running an IC7 for the past two years and have had so many things go bad on it. From the NB fan failing after two months (acctualy it started squealing after two months, I learned to live...

Best Bang for the Buck: Venus, Venice, or San Diego?

It's my understanding that the Opteron 146/148 are the same chips as the FX57 as well.

Best Bang for the Buck: Venus, Venice, or San Diego?

I don't know, dual core just doesn't seem to be in my budget. The cheapest chip is still over $300, and I'd rather put that extra money toward a better video card since I primarly game with my machine. I figure I can move on to a dual core in two years when I next upgrade, by which time software...

Best Bang for the Buck: Venus, Venice, or San Diego?

While the price is incredible, it looks like there's a rediculously long que at the moment for 146s: http://flickerdown.com/queue.htm#146 :( I've got the rest of my system just sitting in my Newegg shopping cart, as there's no point in ordering it untill I can get the CPU - other than to be...

Best Bang for the Buck: Venus, Venice, or San Diego?

After doing some more research I'm pretty set on the Opteron 146, unfortunatley I can't find them in stock anywhere. Newegg apparently just got a shipment in, but they're asking like $250, almost $40 more than they're charging for the 148! I've seen them priced all over at map at various online...

Best Bang for the Buck: Venus, Venice, or San Diego?

I learned long ago that there's always something new around the corner, and waiting is pointless. I mean if I'm not going to be upgrading again for another two years, what difference does it make if I go with a chipset at the end of its life, or a fresh new one? The next time I'll be upgrading...

Best Bang for the Buck: Venus, Venice, or San Diego?

The thread title is pretty self-explanitory, but for those who like a story... I upgrade my computer every two years, the last time being in January of '04. In-between my upgrades I usualy fall out of 'the scene', because if I don't I end up feeling the urge to constantly upgrade my system...

    More on Revolution

Because people have gotten used to thinking more buttons means more of a gaming experience, and less button - less of a gaming experience. Interestingly enough Nintendo is the one to blame for this mindset, they went from 2 buttons on the NES gamepad, to 6 on the SNES pad, to like 78 on the N64...

    More on Revolution

The thing is pure genius. To the untrained eye, it looks just like a television remote - what better way to get people who've never thought about playing video games before to give gaming a try! And while it may look simple enough, it's acctualy offers us a better way to play games then the...

idea's on my 2.4 OC. help.

Read a bit through this thread and see if any of that sounds familiar to the problem you're having. Basicly Intel 865/875 boards seem to have weird incompatibilities with memory modules using CH-5 chips; people can't seem to get past the 250mhz FSB range when using either 5:4 or 3:2. I...

For an Intel system I'd say stay away from anything using CH-5 chips. I recently upgraded my system to a 2.4C with an IC7 MB and have had nothing but problems with my Mushkin 3500 Black (LV1). At first I thought it was just a problem with Abit boards after reading through this 22 page thread...
