Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I am running Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit on a Sony Vaio desktop.
The sound is very low when using speakers, headphones, or any other type of speakers.
Any clue how to start troubleshooting this ?
How does your reply relate to my question? Is it against policy to post a link to my blog ? I am looking for answers, not a waste of my time. No, I don't want traffic to my blog, but I do want people to visit it to gain information and to share information back as well. Do you have any insight...
I have a few servers in a datacenter that are not getting much action. Does anyone know of a service that allows you to offer your infrastructure for rent or lease ?
I figure there has to be some sort of service that you can join that combines resources from all around and rents them out ...
What are you looking to run ? Linux ? Windows ? I have a couple servers in a datacenter just sitting there hosting a couple web sites barely being used at all ... I'll work something out with you if you want to play around with servers ...

An IP address starting with 169.X.X.X is a self - assigned IP address. That means the computer is not receiving an IP address via a DHCP server. A few things I would try are to delete the Airport interface from the network preferences pane, then add it again using the "+" button. Set the IP...
I was researching yesterday and couldn't find anything good. The Microsoft network is not open just yet, and all I could find were sites that I don't trust. Would love to hear what people are using.
Nagios and Cacti all the way. I don't think Nagios setups are difficult. If you just do a little bit of reading and learn what Nagios does and how, and have a basic understanding of scripting, you can deploy Nagios very quickly. Also, open source, big community, you can't go wrong there...
Nagios is amazing. You can have Nagios do anything you could imagine. You can make simple scripts to monitor ANYTHING. There is also a fairly large community behind it, so you get great things like iPhone apps and samples and plugins, etc. I use Nagios to monitor latency, uptime, network, hard...
I can't see running a server off a web page completely. I used WebMin in my earlier years and I found that it is much easier to run a server(s) if you are manually configuring it. You don't know how WebMin is going to write config files/ logs, and you really don't have full control...
I agree with kwmarc. It didn't make much of a difference having the actual equipment compared to using Packet Tracer. BUT, if you have never had your hands on a Cisco switch or router, I would recommend getting a 29XX series to learn with.

I would absolutely recommend using Google Apps. The only difficulty is that you have to host your own zone files for each domain. You can do that with certain domain registrars or by using a service like DynDNS Custom DNS. I have my own servers so I just host the zone files for domains of...
I have seen some issues with my WiFi working slowly. It seemed to get better when I started using a case, and making sure that bluetooth was off. try installing a download speed testing app and compare WiFi to 3g.
