Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Another Seasonic 850 (ATX 3.0 PCIE 5.0 version) and you'll be happy from the peace of mind. My 850 coasts with a similar build and hasn't seen above 500w's
Started the (Focus to Vertex) swap out of the new power supply last night and bummed the cabling for the motherboard does have a wire loom on the newer series. The individual wires may be of a larger guage and or thicker insulation though.
Well sorta, it does...the newer connector has an additional 4 sense pins on the side that should be able to communicate between the GPU and PSU to better manage power.
Flashing the controller is the only way to get it to "IT mode" yes. It depends on the model and I have looked into this and will do it if I have the correct model.
I did my first install of Unraid to a Dell R720 (LFF) last night and was hoping for an easy job, alas not. Hard drive configuration is as follows. Two 250Gb SSD's, to be used as cache, one 8Tb and four 2Tb hard drives, all SATA. It is my understanding that this will work for starters but I will...
My original post maybe wasn't clear but what I am looking for is a better VPN provider. The one I have now seems slow with a lot of overhead as I just got fiber and see it a lot more. One that can send me new VPN security credentials as I don't want to pay again for a pre-configured router!
I have two routers yes, one provided by ISP and the other (Asus) VPN is mine yes. I am using a LAN port out of the ISP router to the WAN port on the VPN router. I physically change the LAN cable from the computer to the router as needed. All the smart devices are connected via WiFi to the VPN...
Correct, my location is set by me and I can change that on the fly. My external address is still the same yes. VPN tunnel was a service so I'm sure the Hash is no longer valid.
Hello all,
I temporarily moved to Italy for three years for work and have been using a VPN router solution through WiTopia which has been meeting my needs for geo fencing purposes.
The main router is from my ISP and works well enough. The VPN router is an Asus RT-AC66U with a DD-WRT Buffalo...
Besides gaming, one of my other hobbies is computer graphics (Maya, ZBrush etc) and I've always wanted a dedicated system for it, so I'm looking at some used components to build a nice system.
Which would be a better system in your all's opinion?
Dual Xeon E5345 (2.33 Ghz Quad Core) Socket 771...
Measurable yes, noticable no.
The CAS or CL is based in ns or nsec, a nanosecond is a unit of time representing .000000001 or 1 billionth of a second.
So the 2 CAS difference you are speaking of is very small indeed.
Here's a great article explaining memory timings...
I'd sale the Q6600 and invest it in a new i3 setup yes. Also get a mobo with a Z68 chipset, which will negate the need for a video card. This will still be able to run 1080P with ease. The stock i3 CPU fan is all that you need in the GD06 case and will save you more coin too.
Be sure to get a Z68 board over a H67 as you will need it unless you are getting a dedicated vid card for this build, also be aware that the smaller the case the more likely you will have a wind tunnel effect with many fans blowing. All looks good otherwise.
