My Creative GigaWorks S750 7.1 system recently died after 4 years of hard use. I'm looking to replace it with a 2.1 system since I had all the satellites placed like a 3.1 system. Any recommendations? Main uses will be music (FLAC & high bitrate MP3) and gaming. Budget is under $300.

i figured otherwise since they say if we download it before may 24. meaning if i reformat in the future i wouldn't be able to re-download in the future.

it could be your video settings go to options>video>advanced video and on the last setting (must have texture quality set to manual) look for "specular map resolution". be sure its on high and not extra. if that fails then set the rest of the settings to high if you have them on extra. if that...

if they/you gonna hate on vista at least show some facts.. and why MS is at fault i find most of my problems are from 3rd party apps like nvidia drivers (getting better), and software (most of them cleared now)

get the intel core 2 duo e6300 i have the e6600 for the 4mb cache but you can overclock that 6300 and it will eat any amd processor out there. the 6300 does good at default speeds as well if you don't plan on overclocking the amd's u mentioned will bottleneck the 8800's

since when did a x1950xtx cf beat a 8800gtx in SLI? i had a x1950xtx and a single 8800gtx be4 and it walked all over the x1950xtx. now i have the 8800's in SLI :D
