My wife keeps trying to give me her old iphones when she upgrades and I keep going out and buying used iPhones because the newer ones are just bigger than I want to deal with. If there was something new to buy I would. It’s simply a personal preference.
I’ve been using iPhones for a long time...
This is my issue. I’d like to upgrade but give me a damn iPhone ‘nano’ or some shit. I’m not watching movies, I have no interest in a large screen. I want something small and light. Until they do I’ll stick with my old POS but small iPhone.
LOL free market economy, suck it up.
MSRP is 100000% meaningless. Once a store buys a product from AMD they can sell it for whatever they want, AMD has no say in the retail pricing beyond making a suggestion what they think it should be. The market will decide actual selling price.
Your local bike dealer is right. Better to have a Walmart bike than no bike but there is a huge difference between an enthusiast bike and a department store bike. Trust me, I started on a department store bike and quickly realized how incapable they are for any serious off-road riding. Intel...
True story. I’m into guitars and mountain biking and while $2500 will get you a “decent” guitar, it’s not going to get you shit when it comes to mountain biking.
Same here, games just aren’t as appealing as they used to be- is it the quality of games or me changing? I know micro-transactions and locked down content doesn’t appeal to me at all. Hard to know but there’s other hobbies that I enjoy more these days.
I also just noticed that this subforum is among the highest in terms of posts/engagement on the site so it seems what erek is doing gets the traffic aka lots of people like it and use his posts as the basis for user discussions. I fail to see a problem here.
I prefer things the way they are now but please feel free to go to different sites for your news. This subforum would be pretty dead without erek’s on topic contributions. Sorry you don’t like it- there are lots of other subforums you can frequent so you don’t have to get offended by what goes...
Gaming segment is too small (what is it currently, about 10-15% of their total business?) and they already have the majority of gaming segment so they can’t grow that business substantially. If 85-90% of their business evaporates (not saying the AI bubble is going to pop for certain), gaming is...
Why make $12B when you could make a multiple of that amount by using that same silicon for AI products instead? It literally doesn’t make sense to “waste” it on gaming products. For the “prestige” of being the leader in a tiny market? I guess you have to use the defective dies for something…
With gaming being such a small part of both AMD and nVidia’s business you have to wonder why they even bother and don’t redirect those resources to their profitable business. Maybe just a matter of time.
If this isn’t just a microcode issue things aren’t going to be looking good for Intel. This release was already pretty lacklustre but I figured Intel still end up selling lots in prebuilt systems to people who buy based on the Intel sticker. If this is bad enough that the Dells of the world...
I’m not sure that’s an accurate characterization. I might be more of an SJW (I don’t consider that a pejorative) than most of the complainants. I consider myself socially progressive, liberal minded, left leaning, tolerant and non-religious. 🤷🏻
Isn’t that the only thing you can base it on? With no evidence you’re just making assumptions aren’t you? As far as congress, I don’t have an opinion on that, I’m not an American but again are you going by statistics or assumptions?
Based on the small number of people who complain I can only...
The constant harping about what is news and how Erek formats his posts is going to do nothing but drive people away. I know I’m sure sick of it.
Maybe it’s time for the big guy to rule on the appropriateness of Erek’s posts and put an end to it either way. It’s Kyle’s house and his rules and I...
