No I didn't, but neither I did in the other Dell monitor.
The pictures I posted are from the same monitor, but you are right I should post pictures from two different monitors. Mine was also a general question about ultrawide monitors.
I have played around with sharpness but it seems the monitor struggles with some letters, for example 'w', look at these pictures
Text looks sharper and more defined on my older 16:9 2k Dell monitor, u2713h.
I never had these kind of monitors with the 21:9 aspect ratio and have seen another...
It is in a HP elitebook 850 purchased in Europe, I can't find any info anywhere, from hwinfo I get
IVO M156NVF4 R0 , the resolution is 1920x1080 on linux.
and IVO model 61c.
made week 0 of 2017
Google takes me some some HP certification but no further info. And some russian sites where I...
Unfortunately I can't return it, so I would like a technical opinion in regards. This is the G5, so it's true that it will be replaced with a refurbished part but I have 3 years of warranty.
I have an HP 850 elitebook with a glossy touch screen which is one of the worst panels I have ever experienced, especially at this price point. The panel is AU Optronics [ AUO23ED], any other info that can be useful please just ask.
Particularly with light colors I can see distinctively the...
I have an 850 G5 with the 1920x1080 touch screen but I would like to replace it with the 1920x1080 400 nits screen which is offered by HP. I have checked the HP spec sheets and it says the touch screen interface is "eDP 1.2" while the 400 nits screen interface is "eDP 1.3 + PSR".
I would like...
I think power consumption will not be a problem because the LG gram has a touch version which consumes more power. At least on that website I can't find any lcds that have brightness above 300 nits.
I know not a lot of people in this forum don't have this laptop (the LG forum is dead), but maybe people who tinker with lcds can help me?
This is the panel in question http://www.panelook.com/LP156WF8-SPA1_LG%20Display_15.6_LCM_parameter_27148.html
What I don't like about it, it's glossy...
I have bought a usb-c to hdmi cable. The problem is the same I had with another usb-c hub. The first time I connect everything goes well. Then, If I put my computer to sleep, or if I disconnect the cable, the usb-c port doesn't respond after reconnect or waking up the laptop. I have noticed...
Thanks, that's not very practical, but it might be useful to know which pins in the VGA port would need to be touched to activate the adapter. CableDeconn has been useless, blaming that it's my laptop.
As a follow up to this thread https://hardforum.com/threads/usb-monitor-connection-for-multi-monitor-setup.1956309/
I have bought a CableDeconn usb-c hub that has dvi, vga, and hdmi. After some testing I have noticed that if I only plug in the DVI cable the hub seems not to turn on, once I plug...
Thank you Dan for the precious info. I don't need to run anything beyond 1080, so that should not be a problem. Is there anyway I can determine if my usb-c port supports DP alt mode? I can't find any info online regarding my laptop. I don't necessarily need DP, I can use DVI + VGA for the two...
That makes sense. So I was thinking something like this

I need an advice from the monitor experts. What I have is a laptop with
- intel HD 520
- one HDMI port
- 2 USB 3.0 ports
- 1 USB type C (3.0) port
I am trying to setup two monitors, one monitor is newer and has DVI/displayport, the other VGA, and I think VGA. I looked into usb-c to DVI/display...
I have two laptops, different brands and technology, different intel wireless cards. One is a 2016 laptop with an Intel ac7265.
I have tried different drivers but my smartphone a ZTE nubia, always gets a signar where my laptops don't. Is this a driver issue or just that recent smartphones have...
This monitor is beautiful, great picture quality and resolution, great viewing angles with the IPS technology. It's in like new conditions as it was sitting in the box for several months while I was out of the country. About 1 year of warranty left, I include the original box with VGA, DVI, and...
I am asking because theoretically VGA has no bandwidth limit being an analog signal. If not 4K, many 1440 monitors have a VGA port, how does it fare with those?
I have an integrated intel HD 4000 in my laptop with both a HDMI and a VGA port, I know HDMI is limited to 30hz for 4k and I am wondering how does 4k look through VGA and if it can output such resolution possibly via custom mode.
Has anyone tried this? I am worried text might not be sharp and...
I used to be able to use tixati just fine at my work lan, now it doesnt work anymore, I doubt they have changed any networking policy overnight.
Can someone help me figure this out? I am using tixati and already went through their step by step guide but it doesn't help. I tried to set a...
I have an ultrabook with the Intel HD 4000 graphics, I only have HDMI and VGA ports.
as others have reported the highest I can go with HDMI is 2560x1440x32bit at 55hz (CVT-RB).
I have been trying to understand what is CVT- RB actually it is and it is some kind of timing with reduced...
I owned an Asus VS24AH which I found extremely comfortable, unfortunately I am selling it because I am moving to Europe and to ship it from the US to Europe it cost almost $60 plus any other custom tax I might run into.
I really liked the VS24AH as it did not cause any eyestrain and it was...

Is it possible that a monitor without speakers has an adjustable volume setting in its software?
When I connect through HDMI I even see in my playback settings in Windows the monitor, I have set the volume to 100 but nothing comes out. I inspected the monitor but it doesn't look like it has...
As I mentioned, I could do without the PWM-free feature. I am looking for an advice on which panel type might be better suited for what I will be doing, IPS, TN,etc
