I've been kicking myself for not picking up the GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edition I had been planning to buy 2 weeks ago. I'd put buying it on hold as my mum was visiting and figured I wouldn't get any real usage out of it. Since then the 1080ti here in Germany comes with a free...
I'm trying to decide if I'm going to upgrade my GTX 970 for a GTX 1080ti for use with my Vive, or wait for the Volta boards. I do struggle with performance on various games (Everspace, Raw Data) which I would like to address, plus using Super Sampling to improve text quality (Elite Dangerous).
Its good BUT it depends on your headshape / size, and ears. For me my ears are in the road, they are either bent down by the side bridge or being pressed under it. Yes its much easier to adjust but I haven't found a comfortable position yet. I also can't get the headphones as close to my ears as...
Oh I know, there's always a bigger fish down the line.
I already have a Vive and the poor performance in a number of VR games is getting more than a little irritating :)
The not knowing is making my decision on whether to get a 1080ti to replace my GTX 970 hard. I want the new card not so much for normal gaming (I use a 2560x1080 monitor at the moment, apart from a couple of games the 970 is holding itself very well), but for VR. If the Volta was only a couple...
Cheers for the reply. I bought a Dell U2515h in a store today but it seems I lucked out and got a dead/stuck pixel. Plus after trying to use it this afternoon, I think it is bordering on too small a size for the res.
Pictures do look amazing on it though.
Just bought one today (Cyberport in Hamburg, 329 euros) to replace a dead LG L204WT. Annoyingly it appears to have a stuck or dead pixel about 6mm off the bottom edge (to the right of the bottom middle). It looks black, but looking at a photo of it, it looks red.
You can see it clearly in the...
Came back from holiday a couple of days ago to find that my aging LG L204WT would no longer turn on, so I'm in the market for a new monitor.
My computer is a Hackintosh built 9 months ago, which I use for Gaming (Win 10) and general computing / programming (OS X). I'm not a hardcore gamer, but...
I don't know what to do about it, the GTX 970 I got was the first GFX card I've bought in 11 years (my first PC build in 11 years too, been on a 13" MacBook Pro for the last 5 years). When I bought it on the 23/12 it seemed to be the king of the current crop for the bang for buck. Spending...
I wanted to quote your quote,
I'm playing Far Cry 4 at 1680x1050 with everything max on my GTX 970 and I'm mostly hanging around in the 3230MB region.
The only "game" I have that I've pushed into the 3.5-4.0GB range is Space Engine. I spent a chunk of time with it around 3.7-3.8GB and...
