There's definitely a pretty big difference between Quest games and big name/big budget stuff for the consoles and PC. It isn't quite as extreme, but it's akin to comparing Cyberpunk to Candy Crush. I think those stand-alone setups are probably the future at this point. They're underpowered, but...
I'm not sure it'll ever work until they can make the whole process smaller and more natural. The PSVR2 is 100x easier than the first version, but it's still something you have to full-on commit to in order to fire up a game for 10-15 minutes.
Doh. I'm away from my gaming PC for a bit and I forgot all about this. Looking forward to replaying HL2 for the dozenth or so time, but the first time in 7-8 years.
It'll be interesting to see how much of a focus Rockstar puts on performance vs. visual fidelity in GTA6. They've gone back and forth with their approach a few times over the years. Personally, I've always felt like their animation and real-world looking environments did the heavy lifting for...
I think the graphics are pretty phenomenal. The voice acting legit sounds like Harrison Ford (even though it isn't), too. The level design and sneaking elements are solid.
I guess my biggest issue is that there are lots of fixable/intentional little things wrong with it. It's a solid C title...
It's definitely a strange game. There are things I really like about it, but plenty of things I don't. The puzzles (which are usually just numerical locks) aren't hard, but they're typically tedious and require you fine a whole bunch of random notes and piece the information on them together...
At this point Valve can do whatever they want. They're 90's sitcom actors - they don't have to do shit if they don't want to. They can get away with being consumer friendly, or they could about face and be total assholes if they ever felt like it. They've got us all by the balls at this point...
I don't care for MSI's pricing points for this generation, but I've been happy with their cards over the years. Never needed any support for anything I've ever bought from them.
Personally, I just want a reason to engage with things. In the first game you could sneak past enemies, you could fight them, or you could just blow by them at a million miles an hour on your bike. The results were exactly the same for all 3, and the last choice was by far the better/faster...
From what I can tell the Denver Microcenter's website has never shown any 5090's in stock. No clue if that's just that branch or what, though. That location only shows something as in-stock if it has physically been on the shelf for a certain amount of time. I learned that back in the 900-series...
I get that they're committed to trying to make Starfield into their next Fallout or TES franchise, but I'm not convinced dumping more time and resources into this game can make that happen.
IMO, it's very much an "it is what it is" sort of game and more content isn't going to change that. The...
Look up in this very thread and the 3-4 other ones just in this forum alone. Make note of how many people have one vs. want one. Take a look at the other tech forums and you'll see the same thing. Take a look at the comments in those Gamers Nexus videos. If it was truly so easy, then there would...
At a certain point camping = way less of a waste of time than F5'ing for months on end, watching tickers, paying for special trackers, complaining on forums, etc. etc.
It's way too easy to do that and it wouldn't shock me if most GTA players barely scratched the surface of the game. In all of 'em. GTA5 is one of the more manageable games in the series. It isn't short, but it's way less tedious than 4 and (especially) San Andreas. You don't have to do the MMO...
Feels like Nvidia could probably come up with some type of software wrapper for hardware PhysX if they thought enough people cared. It didn't apply to that many games and they still work without it, so they'll probably never bother at this point. I remember the Batman titles having it. Those...
Seems interesting. Feels like the type of game you'll have to play through without any long breaks if they're not big on giving you markers, map points, and hints. The last video's performance is a little iffy, but it's clearly on a Playstation. Hopefully the PC is better. In general, this is...
Those expensive ass ASUS cards are the only ones I ever see. I've had the chance to buy 2 of those, but I just can't do it. I think it's a combination of there are more of those than the other AIB models and more people simply aren't willing to buy those vs. the others.
For me, it's MSI first and ASUS second. Those two have served me well and the only times I've needed to replace them = when I've physically damaged them (bent pins, broken plugs, etc.) because I suck at working in tight spaces.
RAM-wise, I'm 100% on team Corsair. For all of the posts and videos...
LOL, that game was an all-time great, but it's pretty dated by today's standards. Still, I was a big fan of that style of adventure game.
The new Indy has reviewed well and the graphics and overall polish/presentation are absolutely top notch. Personally, I find the gameplay to be a little...
My 2TB drive has been filling up quicker and quicker. I figured a 2TB main drive and 4TB backup drive (both SN850's) would carry me for a while, but now I'm thinking I'll need a 4/8 combo soon.
Games are getting ginormous and even just normal 'ol phone photos, videos, etc. seem to double in size...
I played for about an hour last night. The hitches are way less frequent (and severe) vs. the stock version. I specifically tried to get the game to bog down in the spots where the stock version does, and it never did.
With DLAA enabled and the view distance maxed it's pretty wild how far away...
No idea. I played all of the Uncharted games on the Playstation. It's a pretty standard 3rd person action game with the pad. You don't have to be super quick. I've beaten most of 'em on the highest difficulty and I'm not that great of a player. Like I mentioned, it's way less of a shooter than...
The NowInStock alarms = unreliable and late. The key to using that site is to watch the chat. People will post stuff there long before anything ever shows up in the ticker/alarm, if it ever even does. The community is also shockingly non-toxic for a site like that. People are legitimately...
Personally, I prefer Uncharted 4, but they're very different games. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a stealth first-person game. The game has combat, but you're mostly discouraged from going that route. Instead you're climbing and crawling to avoid violent encounters most of the time. The...
If nothing else, it seems like there's no reason to run the older version anymore. At least assuming other mods work.
This new one runs better, has more visual settings, higher refresh rates, DLSS/FSR/DLAA, reflex, etc.
It seems to also fix the issue with the original where the cutscene dialogue...
Looks good and runs better than the original did for the most part. It still has little hiccup stutters here and there, but they're less extreme. The game doesn't bottom out as hard in the brushy desert areas, too.
I'm weirded out that there's no HDR, though. Seems like that would have been one...
Been tinkering with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle now that they seem to have worked the kinks out. It's interesting (and a very good looking title), but I'm not sure it's for me. It's paced like the last Indiana Jones move (rather than Raiders or Temple of Doom) and it plays closer to Thief...
Anyone who owns a 4090 can sell it and get most of if not the entire cost of the vanilla 5090's. You just have to get your hands on a 5090 and be willing to wait for a serious buyer. Even if you're impatient or looking to hook someone up, you can still get $1500 pretty much immediately.
I figured as much. I've bought plenty of items there that never did show up as "in stock" on their site. Personally, I'm only interested in 2-3 5090 cards and they don't carry one of 'em (FE). At MC the only ones I'd buy are the most vanilla possible PNY or Zotac cards that are only $2200.
I went ahead and re-downloaded the original GTA5 to do the save transfer thing. There's an option in the menu just listed as "upload" where you choose one of your saves. It then confirms that save will be available in the Enhanced version. Mine were cloud saves to begin with, so maybe one of...
Here's the blurb that was on Steam this morning:
The upcoming upgrade for Grand Theft Auto V on PC is now available to pre-load. This new version — with highly requested features previously only available in the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions including new vehicles and performance upgrades...
It's showing as "now available" in Steam for me. Downloading it just to see what's up with the new stuff.
EDIT: It's apparently only a pre-load in spite of that banner. 🤷♂️
