Posting this on a few forums... These are the settings I've found work very well with Need for Speed: Rivals to properly enable SLI and fix some really annoying lag issues I ran into. Naturally, this doesn't cure the 30 FPS issue that is hard-coded into the game. This also does not cure the...
Can't agree with you more! I *LOVED* NFS:MW... one of the only games I've ever purchased ANY DLC for... LOL
Rivals is good so far (even despite the 30 fps lock).
You aren't just whistlin' dixie about the Mac touchpads... The iBooks are awesome. And I just picked up a MacBook, and that touchpad is phenomenal. I *LOVE* the double-finger scrolling feature, so logical and works so well.
There is a 700+ post thread going on Dell's forums about clarity issues with the Dell Latitude D620 series.
Here's a link, check it out yourself.

UltraVNC is unbelievable for a free piece of software. http://www.uvnc.com
The super-sweet part of UltraVNC is the "SC" (SingleClick) edition. Simply put, you NAT an address and expose a port to your "administrator workstation". You create a custom (<200k) exe file through the UltraVNC...
Yeah, the original post was from NOVEMBER 2004. Prices change. I think at the time I paid about $25 too much.
And, for the record... I can't believe ANYONE dug this post up and replied, but impressive numbers none-the-less there, BitchBreaker
MAXIM 145 rocks. Alt Nation 21 is my other favorite.
Good music, Bower is kinda cool, Evan and Brian are cool (except for the whole Guy Past-time Voting thing... they need to lose that), and the Covino and Rich show rocks too.
MAXIM 145 *NEEDS* a morning show tho. According to...
Measure twice, cut once.
Basically, remove the side panel, measure it all out... Where the fan falls. Write it all down on a sheet of paper, diagram or whatever helps. Basically, note where the extremities fall of all edges of what you actually would want cut out. Use the back of the case...
One more vote for Antec. Been replacing all of my power supplies with Antec, and haven't been using anything but Antec for new builds of-late. They are awesome and inexpensive.
I initially got the impression that it was a "plug-in" for the iTunes software. On further read, it looks like an integrated feature of the 4.7.1 iTunes Software. Either way, it seems like a pretty cool feature. I'm still not a fan of iPod, but stuff like this could help push me over the edge...
That's what the Apple's iTunes AutoFill is for:
http://www.apple.com/ipodshuffle/shuffle.html
Someone needs to make a little VB app that does that for the rest of us non-iTunes users. Give it a number (size of resulting random collection), point it to your MP3 directory, and then give it an...
I have a USB 2.0 hub that I'd like to mod into the front panel of my case. I'd love to keep it self-powered, but don't want to supply it with 110v to the plug-pack. I'd like to power directly off of a spare HD connector.
The factory plug-pack for the USB hub is 6v DC. I've experimented a...
WarriorProphet: That's the plan. It's been a while since I've had a rig folding. At my old job, I had nearly 50 computers folding 24/7 for the [H]orde. (We had a BUNCH of extra hardware laying around the office. I figured I'd plug it all in and make it do something.) :)
It's been a while since I've OC'd a computer. Last time was the legendary 300A Celerons. Also, I've recently only been lurking on the [H]ard|Forums.
I was recently at my local MicroCenter. (My most favoritest store EVAR!) They run a bunch of clearance/open box deals. Basically anything...
Water cool the kitty. Kitties hate that. It's humane, yer giving it a bath... But yet the kitty's writhing and squirming in discomfort under the running water just might satiate the desire burning within you to get back at the cute little fluffball for what it has done to your PC. Win-Win...
BELKIN ROUTERS SUCK!
Drops connections, wireless signal fades, needs constant restarting. I have (had) one, and HATE IT. Oh, it also is LIMITED TO 10 PORT FORWARDS/NAT ports. You CAN'T EVEN DO RANGES!! ARGH!
Get the D-Link instead. DI-514 @ $59.99 with a $20 MIR for net of $40...
Is it just me, or should the manufacturer have been a bit more careful with the placement of that SMD component? They should all know by now that the mounting clips go there.
I might be lucky, but I love my ECS K7S5A... A friend has one too, and he likes it as well. I would venture to guess that their quality is VERY bad, so we must have lucked out and gotten the two that worked right.
Back to topic: FIC can suck it. They are HORRIBLE. Had a number of boards...
Make sure you're using a towel that is COTTON or a derivitive of cotton. Anything based on paper products can and will scratch your screen. My other hobbies are cars and pinball, and in BOTH arenas, when you're cleaning, waxing, or polishing, they always tell you NEVER use anything paper-based...
Nuked Jello, you are a GAWD!!! I switched to Analog VGA, and all of the problems DISAPPEARED.
I've built PC's for 15 years, approximately 2 years of which have been involved with DVI connectors, and have NEVER seen anything like this.
When connected to DVI, I get no post, no boot, and no...
I am trying to use the DVI connector, but will try the Analog VGA one tonight. Can't imagine that would be causing the issue. Seems like it's some strange BIOS related thing. (Like I said, it wants to work... I mean it's perfect on the first boot after clearing the CMOS.)
For now, I'm...
Bump for the first-shift, working people, who surf [H]F when they probably should be doing something for the company they are working for. :)
Anyone have any comment? I noticed that Shuttle has the SK43G which is based on the KM400 chipset as well. The ATI Radeon 9600XT is not listed as a...
VisionTek's response is: "The card should just work. There aren't any jumpers, etc on the card, so it should just plug in and work."
Biostar's response: "We've tested this card (or a similar card based on the 9600XT chipset) and could not even get it to boot once. Until the engineers in...
I went to my local Microcenter, and they were out of the ATI branded version, but were subbing the Visiontek version of the same card. I got one. Still $159, and still included Half Life 2. Note, you also get the "Valve Value Pack" or something, which includes Half Life and CounterStrike for...
