CX doesn't support the DTS codec. the only way to get it is to play it from a different device that does support it (i.e. nvidia shield, bluray player, etc) and play it through an AVR
so after farting around this some more, i think it's something specific to doing it via resize desktop. i manually added the resolution via registry and it works fine
for those who run this at 3840x1620... are you able to set the color depth to 10 bpc? it shows the option for me but as soon as i set it, it reverts back
my guess is that because there's a stutter issue with GSYNC now but can't 100% for sure say. also, this is just what i've seen on reddit so it may or may not be true. i looked on the US site and don't even see any available firmware so it's possible it was never put up.
you can read more about...
firmware 3.11.25 fixed this issue but i'm seeing random reports that it was pulled
edit: i looked at the original link and see that it's still up... if you want to run it manually here's what you need...
here's a link to the firmware...
has anyone messed around with custom resolutions? i wanted to try 3200x1800 but when I try to use CRU, I get a black screen and same with nvidia control panel
any help would be appreciated!
i have an amazonbasics arm but i think the CX might be too heavy for it (arm is rated for 25.3 pounds/monitor weights 33)... may have to get your arm, as well.
thanks!
imo... no. they are almost identical sets with minor improvements. the only thing you will get outside of what you mentioned is a better processor. use the 300 dollars towards your new video card.
just IMO but I think the 48CX scales really well at 1440p. until i get a new card that can do the full bells and whistles, that's what i use and i think it looks great. i'm sure everyone will have varying opinions, but i'm pretty impressed with it.
just my 10 cents but I had the Dell and it was a great monitor. you could do a bit of tweaking and make it pop. was pretty impressed for a TN panel.
i have no experience with the Acer but i would go with the Dell anyway because 1) it's bigger 2) it's 1440p (sweet spot for games, IMO) 3) it's...

240hz and HDR
but like it was mentioned, HDR won't be that great on an LCD screen.
do you know if the VF700 works with the X1900? the stock fan is about to drive me insane and I want to replace it.. neither the accelero or the vf900 is out yet so..
yeah, but the stock cooler sounds like a vacuum at full load while this one is fairly quiet and it cools somewhat better.. i'd take this over the stock any day.
I'm in the same boat as you.. my suggestion is to wait about another 2-3 weeks and get one of these when they are released:

the MSRP on them is 449.
oh come on.. this whole problem would have never even occured if she took the time to read what she was buying..
the return policy is understandable considering that they are trying to protect themselves from losing money.
I agree.. monarch is a very good company. It's not their fault that the date for the chips to come out has changed and the fact that you hold that against them only makes you look stupid.
I just went ahead and ordered everything else so when they come in i'll be ready. just bought an X800 XL, DFI nf4 Ultra-D, and a thermaltake silent boost.
hoping the 3200+ overclocks as good as it did in that pcper article.
