I got frustrated just -reading- that article, because I am in an almost identical situation.
Bought a new X8, and of the 3 weeks I've had it, it has been out of commission for 2. I've already had to RMA a faulty video card to EVGA, and now the SAME EXACT memory problem mentioned in the review...
I just grabbed a new 680i SLI board for my gaming system and after running fine for a week, I'm all of a sudden getting a single loud beep that continues endlessly on startup, accompanied by a "C1" flashing on the board.
I know for a fact that all 4 sticks of 1gb Corsair XM2 DDR2 are fine...
How would I go about turning off Speedstep then, or even accessing its controls. I see that I have to manually bump the multiplier up to 9, and I'm definitely going to do that now.
Here's all the information I have on the Board:
EVGA
122-CK-NF68
Version 2
BIOS: Pheonix Technologies, LTD
BIOS Version 6.00PG
When I talk about overall speed, I mean that raising the FSB from 266 to 333 didn't change the reported Core Spped in CPU-Z at all.
I know this sort of...
...or perhaps I'm just doing something wrong. I just tried to overclock my C2D watercooled machine using this page as a guide: http://pc.ign.com/articles/747/747606p3.html , but so far I've had almost no success. I can raise my FSB to 333MHz, but it seems to have no effect on my actual overall...
I knwo what you mean. I'm moving up from a 17"CRT and looking for something in the $300s, but it seems like all the 22s have horrible backlight bleeding that would just drive me insane. I genuinely have no idea what to do. Everyone keeps saying widescreen is the way to go but there just don't...
I've read all the reviews and the editors seem to like the display, but I'd also like to hear a little more about it if anyone has firsthand experience, especially compared to the SCEPTRE.
So one person says that amount of bleed is normal, others say it's a bad monitor -- so which is it? My anal self wouldn't be able to deal with bleeding like that.
Edit: Probably the first time I've ever used "anal" and "bleeding" in the same sentence and been talking about technology.
Is that a normal amount of bleeding for this monitor? I was heavily expecting to buy the SCEPTRE, but damn, that can't possibly be normal! That would drive me crazy.
You know, if I'm going to be paying in the $300s it might be worth it to get a 22", as long as there aren't any awful performance issues.
Both the Viewsonic 22" and the SPECTRE 22" seem to get good reviews at Newegg. Anyone have experience with these? Worth the extra bucks?
My problem is that I blew my load out on the box, so now I'm all but broke when it comes to the monitor. I'd love to just toss an extra $750 at a nice display now, but I physically cannot do it. Still, I'm getting the feeling that old school 4:3 ratio monitors aren't as popular as the...
I'm about to buy a pretty nice gaming setup: 8800GTX, overclocked E6600, and DDR2-1066. With that setup, I'm hoping to see some pretty impressive visuals and pretty good graphics performance. The only problem (I think) is that the monitor I'm getting is this:
ViewSonic VX922 Black/Silver 19"...
Thanks, that guide was almost exactly what I was looking for. Very straightforward and to the point.
I noticed though that they got the Conroe's FSB to about 370MHz on Air. If I understand this correctly, that's getting pretty close to the DDR2-800's speed capacity of 400MHz, correct? If I...
I'll be buying a new gaming PC in the very near future and, in order to save money, I've opted to buy the E6600 over the E6700 with the intention of OCing the 6600 to make up the speed difference. The only problem with this is that I've never done anything like this before and despite the last...
