I just recently dusted out my case and inspected things, and everything looked okay. The power adapter that came with Gaming Trio is rather precarious looking though. It doesn't inspire confidence.
I hope future gen cards have a more fail-safe, higher quality power connection.
I figured you might have meant Doom 2016. I had forgotten if that game even had reloading :D. Just the double barrel shotgun I think? Because game logic!? It's been ages since I played that.
When it comes to Bethesda games I neither love nor hate them. I always end up just messing around...
Was just skimming the thread, but this is incorrect. You have to reload in Doom 3 and there are reload animations ;). And you very much need to be aware to how much firepower you have left before your next reload in Doom 3 or the game will kick your ass on higher difficulties.
If you want to transfer a control layout you've made from one game to another, here is how you do it in Steam Input without issues:
Hit the cog sign next to "View Layout" and "Edit Layout", choose "Export Layout", then after naming your layout, under "Export Type" choose "New Template". Then...
The gyro aiming on the Deck is pretty kickass. It's my first introduction to it since I haven't done much FPS gaming with a controller. "Always on" gyro aiming in Dhewm3, DUSK, Half-Life, and Blood feels really good.
I put a WD SN770M 2TB in my LE unit a couple days ago and read/write times...
DOS version now included
Now, like the GOG version, the Steam version of Fresh Supply includes the original DOS version of One Unit Whole Blood. The DOS version has also been added as a launch option. Very nice little update. I tend to alternative between using the Raze source port and the...
It's also for those looking for a more console-like experience in the PC world. A gateway drug into PC gaming for some people. "Bridging the gap between console and PC gaming" might be a better way of putting it. Games that are verified for it just work and already have preconfigured settings...
Yes! Ion Fury was great, and I definitely want to play this at some point. I love Build Engine games. I missed the sale on Aftershock I think but have it wish listed now.
Bramble: The Mountain King
I beat it my first day of playing it I enjoyed it so much. Fantastic and gorgeous dark fantasy, horror adventure game based on Nordic fables. Very high production values. It doesn't have a lot of replayability (almost completely linear) and only took me a little...
You're right. I doubt the Sony would even seem different to me in practice or some kind of double blind test. I think I'll hold out for the G4's release since it's not far away.
The Samsung S95C has the lowest input lag apparently (5.1 ms vs 5.5 ms on the LG G3 vs 8.2 ms on the Sony A95L, according to RTINGS, for 4K120), which explains why many choose it over the others.
Picked up Aliens: Dark Descent, Bramble: The Mountain King, Horizon Zero Dawn Complete, Ori Collection, and some more LEGO games just before the sale's end. Plenty of new games to try when snowed in :P.
Anyone out there using a Sony A95K or A95L? If so I am curious how you like it and what you think of it compared to LG or Samsung if you have experience with those.
I'm looking to replace my 3+ year old CX with something newer and brighter in the next 6 months or so. I think I will wait for...
The LG CX 55" I use is perfect for me, and I'm 90+ percent certain I will continue to use a 55" OLED in the future. I have it on a strong wooden desk and my peripherals on a folding table next to it so there is a good distance. It's just perfect for everything and super comfy. A secondary PC...
It's a day 1 purchase for me personally, along with an OLED TV upgrade (LG G4 55"?) and new system build. I think we will see it sometime in the second half of 2024, but I really don't know. Regardless of whether or not it releases, I will likely demote my current primary system in its...
I can understand why some would see it that way. In many ways it's just an arena shooter like the old unreal tournament games, just with a lot more complexity. I still enjoyed it but never have gotten around to playing the final DLC yet. I think I've had my fill of it though, it's a very...
That leak did have a pretty nice vibe. Not perfect and incomplete in many ways of course, but for a leaked tech demo it was interesting and intriguing. It had a hunt or be hunted (haunted?) feel to it that I enjoyed. That and the HL2 leak were so exciting back then..
The new games are good, but I think I prefer Doom when it is action survival horror rather than an arena shooter. I have had more fun with Doom 3 than the new ones even if it is not without flaws. I don't like that enemies can just teleport in out of nowhere and would have instead preferred to...
Over half of all tech industry workers view AI as overrated
Does anyone know for certain that achieving singularity and true AGI is possible?
What if lots of energy and resources get thrown at AI development but singularity is never able to be achieved? I wonder if AGI will end up a pipe...
I don't know if the details are out yet regarding the follower dungeons, but from what I've read, it will help casual/solo players learn how to run some normal dungeons with NPCs. That will be a boon for me. I've leveled a beast mastery hunter, arcane mage, and unholy death knight since last...
They do seem to be stacking the costs of playing the game up pretty well. I can forgive them if the production quality is high.
I miss flight-form a little also since I started playing WoW again at the tail-end of Shadowlands after many years of not playing WoW. I unlocked flying for all...
The next update seems like it will be nice. Dragonriding available everywhere (y)
In Development: Seeds of Renewal
(Blizzard Entertainment, November 16, 2023)
Dragonriding Available Worldwide
The skies of Azeroth and beyond can be yours in the saddle of your dragon. In Dragonflight: Seeds of...
I think there are several factors at play. Video gaming is less novel since it's been around for many decades now. The market is more saturated. You have also probably experienced much of what there is to experience since you've immersed yourself in the video gaming world for so long. It's...
The first time I played Half-Life was in a small, darkened at-home office at one of my buddy's houses when I was very young. The game fucking terrified us :dead: :D. I will never forget what it felt like to encounter the first headcrab and zombie with the volume cranked up... In retrospect, it...
Playing Half-Life for the first time when I was younger. That kind of creepy realtime, interactive experience was still a very novel thing back then. The first time playing the first Resident Evil and later Silent Hill 3 did it too.
The 4090 was one of my first thoughts too. I remember enjoying my ATI X800 Pro also since it was a big upgrade for me at the time and played Far Cry very well.
I let go of Path of Exile after defeating A10 Kitava in HCSSF Ruthless mode (or maybe it let go of me? ;) ). I jump in and mess around once in a while, but that is not a very interesting game played casually. I will probably give PoE 2 a solid go of it though when it releases.
I may play...
Playing Path of Exile a lot did something similar to me :D. I will probably still check out POE 2, but I find it difficult to commit to the grind of arpg's and similar games now. It feels like an exercise in futility in some ways. My takeaway is that I've just experienced all I wanted to and...
This is really important. This is a great game for those who knew what they were buying I think.
I didn't play the original Alan Wake. And if I'm not super excited watching a trailer for a new game, I assume I probably won't enjoy it. It doesn't mean it is objectively bad, just not for me...
The heavy story elements are what keep me from being more interested in it. I think I would get frustrated having to slug through all that. I enjoy games more when the gameplay and atmosphere tell the story and you aren't interrupted so much. But for someone who enjoys all the storytelling...
I'm not a RE fan, so we may just have different tastes. I'm glad you are having a great time with it though. Maybe I will give it a purchase if I keep hearing positive things about it.
