Different than 3m riser will not fit into those holes in case. 3m riser has screw holes more distant on both sides than other regular cables. Approx 10mm on each side.
But you can go to your local hw store and ask them to make small metal stripe with 4 holes in it. 2 for case and 2 for new cable.
I have managed to bent the PSU cable different way - see red line below.
Than you can install 40mm Noctua fan there (see my post above)
PS: Koukám že tu je někdo další z česka
As maybe some of you noticed, I had issue with PCI-e extension cable. After contacting Dan, he managed that very fast. When I was waiting for the new one, I had bought some regular PCI-e extension and I have tried adding 4x Noctua 40mm fan on the top cover and to do a small adjustments to my...
I would go for Asus z370i - it has m.2 slot on front = better cooling for ssd (see my tested temp results above).
As galletabah mentioned in posts above, he has overheating issues with m.2 ssd on back. Asrock Fatal1ty has its m.2 slot on back. Thats the reason why to choose asus imho.
I have asus z270i and i have m.2 ssd 960pro in front slot. Temps never went above 80°C (in benchmark) with added heatsinks:
In idle I have about 40°C.
RASPBERRY Pi RB-Heatsink
But I have also 2 noctua fans above taking the heat out of the case, so it makes a difference too.
Yeah, it wont, but its a main feature of the case.
If you don´t want to use it, then second possibility would be C4-SFX.
You basically keep it SFX, but just A4 has changed to C4.
So its like SFX series, but there will be 2 models (A4 & C4).
In this situation, you can create more models in...
Yes, I had the overheating issues too. There is basically no air flow, so I didn´t use it in the end.
Can you be more specific?
I have also managed to install 4x 40mm noctua fan in the case.
If you are interested, I can post a pictures.
That means, that Dan printed your shipment information (label with address) along with others and he is in process of marking the packages (cases) with that DHL printed shipment information (label).
When he has enough packages prepared and labelled, DHL will pick them up at once.
I had it the...
So i just tried to change cooler on CPU.
Heatsink is for both cases from Cryoric C7.
Full load with HeavyLoad for 15 minutes.
Room temperature: 21C
C7 fan: idle: 35-38C, Full-load: 75-78C
Noctua A9x14: idle: 38-43C, Full-load: 76-80C
I will stay with Noctua now, because it is significantly...
So I delided i7 7700 (non-k). I am using cryorig c7 and there is a 10°C difference with side panel unmounted. When is side panel mounted, temps are higher, but noise from c7 is far worst.
But after 15 minutes of full load (side panel open) on cpu, temps are maxed to 80°C. On iddle, 36-40°C...
The heatsink of m.2 ssd slot on top of motherboard (http://techreport.com/r.x/2017_1_3_Asus_details_Z270_motherboards_in_blog_post/STRIX-Z270I-GAMING-2DJPG.jpg - above pcie slot for gpu) has its right top corner going up closer to the one of the cpu holes. And thats the problem with cryorig c7...
So I just a got an email from my local transport company (Czech Republic, Prague - PPL company is delivering), that my shipment will be delivered tommorow between 08:00-18:00.
And I am still waiting for Asus z270I motherboard to be released here :-(
Just checked mine (Czech Republic) and not yet.
Still only: "The instruction data for this shipment have been provided by the sender to DHL electronically"
Exactly.
Im from Czech Republic (or newly called Czechia) and still waiting for DHL to pick up the package from Dan. I will post here when they got it and when I recieve it.
It is not an assumption, thats what Dan stated. And you can check on Kickstarter ( in community tab) what coutry has most orders. And in last update from January 17 on kiclstarter is the info about those 2 shipping groups. And rest of the EU recieved their shipping notification on friday last...
If he gets it ready and has it prepared for DHL to pick it up, you will get notification to your email from Dan (check spam folder also).
Then you will get email from dhl that they just get parcel for you.
So i suppose that north america will get notification from Dan this friday and dhl will...
I wonder too. Few weeks ago, i ordered from germany also with dhl. (I live in Czech Republic). I ordered on Thursday afternoon and parcel arrived on wednesday next week.
I recieved my notificatin fom Dan this Friday, so i expect the case to arrive on this friday (10.2.) or week after on Monday...
I would do it as you said with zip-tying. I really dont thing it will melt.
I still think that c7 fan will perform a little bit better according to paper specs (2500rpm vs noctua 2200rpm). But we will se after some time.
Thanks for reply. I personaly go for i7 7700 (not K, but regular one) so i will see how the temps with cryorig c7 are and then i will decide if delid is a go or no-go.
Luckily i have a good pc-hardware shop next to my place, so they can do it for me quicly and safely.
Has anyone tried to do delid amd apply on i7 7700(k) cpu and compare results before/after in Dan A4-SFX?
I see everywhere in tests drop over 20 degrees. Is it worth it?
So basicly fan eith 80x80x10mm dimensions would fit?
Then this one is a go: https://www.amazon.com/EVERCOOL-EC8010M12CA-80mm-10mm-Bearing/dp/B009CBUM74
Thanks for feedback.
Fan is just 15mm thick, so if you atach a small metal cover (for example http://www.gratingpacific.com/images/round-hole-patterns-img1.gif ) on it, then riser cable could touch it so you could bent it a little more. All its needed is a gap of at lest 20mm to fix a fan to the...
Thank you.
Thise cables from PSU look quite messy even with modular psu, so maybe a custom cables can help it.
Question: is there a chance, that you could fit a slim fan on the top above the motherboard? Is there enough space for it?
Edit: like this one: https://www.quietpc.com/kaze-jyu-slim-2000
I dont know whats wrong, but i dint see any image. I tried to see it on pc and on phone and still nothing. Can you just post direct link please?
Thank you
I recieved shipping confirmation to Czech Republic several minutes ago. I am looking forward to this case so much!
dondan : thank you for making this case real. I will definately watch your future projects (hint: smallest ATX case possible, maybe?). Just take some time for "vacation" after...
