Soooooo, anyone now considering an 8K TV after the 3090 DLSS demo?

I don't know what reality you're living in. But in the real world the vast majority of 4K monitors are around 27-32" and people are already using scaling at that size.

Soooooo, anyone now considering an 8K TV after the 3090 DLSS demo?

Then you're not sitting close enough. Did you see how close Nvidia had them sit in front of the 8K TV? They had to noticeably tilt their heads a lot.

And yet the games that will benefit most from 144+ FPS will likely run just fine on a 3090-ex. Fortnite, CSGO So it still seems weird that the 30xx won't be able to capitalize on the esports market but maybe AMD also won't put DP 2.0 in their GPUs this year.

The lack of DP 2.0 is very odd as that means no uncompressed 4k at 10-bit 120hz on the DP connector whereas it will be possible on HDMI 2.1. Come to think of it, I've never seen a card where HDMI had more bandwidth than DP.

Yeah I hope so too. FML. Bought a key from GMG and just used it today to pre-load. HZD is definitely one of those games I'd rather see crispness over a higher frame-rate.

Samsung Odyssey 1440p VA monitors 240hz curved

It can be both. Both cannot be trusted if the panel variance is this bad. Yes, there's always variance but the DEGREE OF VARIANCE matters. ;) But I'm sure you'll come up with some excuse to apologize for Samsung since it seems they have your pocket well guarded. On the other hand, I am not new...

Samsung Odyssey 1440p VA monitors 240hz curved

Seriously? The response times are no different between the different overdrive modes... But now, this is not surprising. Lots of discrepancies between reviews. Looks like the Samsung panel lottery is back in full force. Better pray you get a good one...

So the Rtings review came out and their response time findings are also strange... Images: https://www.rtings.com/images/reviews/monitor/samsung/odyssey-g7/odyssey-g7-motion-blur-max-standard-large.jpg...

    Samsung Odyssey: 49" 5120x1440, 240 Hz, HDR1000

Let me know how the panel looks after a few years of good use. ;) Kidding. I'm envious of anyone who can justify an OLED right now as a desktop panel. My android phone is OLED and I get the pleasure of staring at the permanent top and bottom task bars on full screen videos/games.

    Samsung Odyssey: 49" 5120x1440, 240 Hz, HDR1000

That's a false equivalence. ;) Regardless of what their methodology is, their numbers don't match the pursuit photo. To put it into perspective, those numbers are within error of the Acer Nitro XF252Q following TFT's response time testing (2.8 vs 2.6)...

    Samsung Odyssey: 49" 5120x1440, 240 Hz, HDR1000

Did a bit more digging into this guy's monitor reviews and they are NOT to be trusted! For one example, in the LG 27GL850 review he is reporting HALF the response times and overshoot error as rtings! Yikes! Hardware Unboxed (at 4:12 in): Rtings:

    Samsung Odyssey: 49" 5120x1440, 240 Hz, HDR1000

Be VERY cautious about those numbers since he also shows the UFO pursuit ghosting test and to be frank the numbers don't add it up with what the camera sees:

    Samsung Odyssey: 49" 5120x1440, 240 Hz, HDR1000

Here we go again with the whole "I have this new model VA display and there is no black smearing or ghosting at all! Trust me!" I'll wait to see what the actual response times and overshoot are measured to be by a professional (not employed by Samsung) ;)
