LOL, had their 4G service for a few days. 1.6 miles from the tower, four bars on the modem and less than a half a meg download. ATT's 3G on my iPad was consistantly faster. To top it off, their techs were ignorant and insulting. Perhaps the 100 meg service will get close to the 6 meg service...
None of the earlier versions of Arctic Silver are not electrically conductive.
You may want to look into CircuitWorks 7100. Since it is formulated for electrical conductivity, it's thermal performance will not match AS5.

Cutex, the most popular nail polish remover contains: Acetone, Water, Propylene Carbonate, Dimethyl Glutarate, Dmethyl Succinate, Dimethyle Adipate, Glycerin, Gelatin, Fragrance, Denotonium Benzoate, D&C Yellow No. 11.
Obviously several of the ingredients should not come into contact with a...
Dylan,
We have developed a new, two step cleaning solution for CPUs and heatsinks. Send me your address and I will see that you get enough to solve your problem.

The concave heatspreader is typical and one of the reasons the dab in the middle method works so well. Heatspreader is a bit of a misnomer, as the vast majority of the heat goes straight up from the core to the heatsink. Thermal compound on the corners of the heatspreader only serves to space...
blindviper - Using Goo Gone on the CPU package is ok, but we do not recommend using it on the CPU core. Goo Gone will leave a residue that alcohol will not remove. This residue will fill the microscopic surface imperfections where the thermal compound should be and compromise the thermal...
LOL, I have worked for Arctic Silver for a little under a year now. If you could turn back the forum time machine, you would find lots of posts on volt mods, pelts, etc. I would like to think the quality of my posts in forums like the [H] is one of the reasons Arctic Silver hired me. ;)

Its difficult if not impossible to accurately compare temperatures between two different systems. Have a look at this example. Even though the example was done with an Intel CPU, the method for measuring the core temperature is the same method used with the Athlon 64. Using the same CPU and...
Don't use Goo Gone or nail polish remover. They will leave a residue in the microscopic surface imperfections that will compromise the thermal interface.
Acetone or Goof Off followed by isopropyl alcohol is what I would recommend.

govtcheez While it may seem more efficient to cover the entire heatspreader, this is not the case. The vast majority of the heat goes straight up through the heatspreader. AMD realizes this as they call the heatspreader a processor lid in their documentation. The processor lid is...
Listen to _Korruption_ and Arkanian.
If our instructions say not to spread AS5 on a P4, don't you think that's because a little dab in the middle works best? ;)
If you insist on spreading it, your temps will be higher and since you will use more AS5, our sales will go up. ;)
