so just for the record, I've installed one 140mm AP141 fan I had laying around underneath the center of my 980 twin frozr and was able to achieve about the same cooling effect as Urelure's ducting/dual fan setups (i.e. ~10'c drop). This is in addition to having drilled some holes into the plate...
so I just took off the plate to side of the pci slot openings in the middle of a game and immediately I could feel a huge increase in hot air exhaust. Temperature wise, I'm seeing a 5 degree decrease than from before (79-80'c). I still plan on adding intake fans on the bottom but this is a...
wow, reading your post just made me realize something. We can remove that pci retention plate thing to the right of the pci slot covers. that actually creates a pretty sizable hole for air to escape. For future production runs maybe Necere can consider perforating those plates? For now, I'll...
my experience with blower style cooling is that they become very loud, which is why I've gone with a third party cooler this time. I've thought about ways to exhaust the hot air from the gpu but there just isn't any. The addition of a long and wide graphics card such as the 980 Gaming 4G...
can anyone here recommend fans for mounting on the bottom to feed an open air graphics card? I just put in a MSI gtx 980 Gaming 4G and it's running hotter than I'd it like to. Overclocked, with panels on and fans left on auto, I'm hitting around 84/85'c in heaven and far cry 3. Not sure if slim...
how bad is it? any pics? I'd thought since the MSI's 970 fit fine I wouldn't have any problem jumping on a MSI 980. But reading your post just made me realize the power connectors on the 970 are recessed behind the shroud while the 980's power connectors are more or less flush with the edge of...
amazing log man. I'm looking at the Noctua fans right now as well for my build. Just curious, how do the acoustics of the Noctua industrial fans compare to the original NF-F12's? I'd like to get the black ones as they'd obviously match the case better and the higher air flow would definitely be...
I realize people are still waiting to receive their orders from the second run but has there been any news on the possibility of a third run? I'm extremely interested in getting my hands on one of these
nice. but you kept AA at 4x. If you really want stability, try maximum stress with 8x. looks pretty consistent with mine. I just reran Heaven with your settings:
should probably lower the memory a bit more; just noticed a couple of artifacts at the rotating-around-the-dragon stage.
You want to give yourself as high of a roof as you can so the gpu doesn't throttle for any reason. That means set your power target, or i guess power limit in your case, to max and set up a fan profile so that temps don't go above 70 degrees during OCing. Also, pegging the voltage to the max...
Are you getting those values off of the graphs from an overclocking app? 6008mhz is the effective memory clock. You just have to take the value you have up there and x2: you get 6010mhz which is about right for a stock gtx 670. And it's a good thing that your power percent is not at 90+ yet. It...
so I dropped the memory to 1700mhz like you suggested and performance dropped as expected. I even matched my clocks to your clocks just to see if I'd get a similar score and it still came out lower than yours. Are you using the new beta driver? I think im going to update to that and try again
what you're talking about i think happened to me at +700mhz offset. ocing the memory stopped producing gains and created artifacts at > +700 offset. every incremental increase in the offset prior, however produced fps gains. so i slowly brought it down to +640. But I will try your recommendation...
almost forgot lol:
i5 2500k @ 4.5ghz
msi gtx 670 power edition
8gb g.skill ram 1600mhz
120gb kingston hyperx ssd + 500gb hdd
600W psu
Everything in a silverstone TJ08-E
hope that helps. Also, I just noticed something weird. Can anyone else confirm this with their 670 power edition card or is it...
OKAY. So I'm stable roughly around 1316mhz Core and 7.29ghz Memory. Got a score of 1266 @ 1080p on Heaven 3.0 w/ everything max. Temps and Fan speed aren't too bad at this point either, especially considering the room I'm in is almost 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Inaudible below 50% fan speed. 50 -...
with afterburner 221, the core voltage slider is greyed out for me. either I'm stupid or the power edition is capped at 1.175v like every other gtx 670.
please tell me I'm stupid lol
Mine arrived today, 1.175v is still the limit... and for some reason my power percent refuses to go above 98% even with a power target of 114%. and I'm reaching the core overclock limit here. Any thoughts?
got mine on 10/26 and it seems the power tune issue still exists. unlocked, overclocked to 960/1375mhz with 1.200v on trixx. Is that a high voltage for those speeds? I feel like I've been seeing a lot of people able to do those speeds just at stock voltage.
