Recently did a long overdue upgrade to my ITX build and these become available. All have been working stably and reliably for the past 6 years. Never overclocked until October this year all for the curiosity on the capability of 2500k. Went into BIOS and used 30% quick setting to turn it...
Thanks for the first hand experience folks. I almost shelled out some cash for an NVMe upgrade to replace my perfectly fine SSD OS drive. Now I saved some money. Damn these BF deals.
My custom Silverstone 650W has been running well 7 or 8 years now. I am inclined to make it a planned obsolescence, because the fan seems to run louder or it might just be my psychology, and upgrade to something 750W modular. The only issue is it takes a little effort to find ITX compatibility.
Another reason I prefer flashing a whole factory image over OTA is that I found every time after a flash, even without data wipe, the phone feels snappier with minor bugs ironed out here and there. So when I feel lazy, I don't upgrade at all, while in some other months when I have an hour of...
I had to have root for a gesture app that enables me to swipe on the edge to turn off the screen among others. For update I just use flash-all removing "-w" and re-root afterwards. Hey we're on Hardforum, we shouldn't feel bothered by using PC to support mobile devices right? :sneaky:
I'm using Pixel 2 on Fi with eSIM and the SIM card from a foreign carrier. It's only dual sim but not dual standby, so I have to switch back n forth between the SIMs.
My heatsink is center mounted on CPU and rotate a little even when the screws are fully tightened. Guess it saves me some hassle when removing the heatsink -- just twist it a little and make sure it's not "glued" to the CPU :ROFLMAO:
I think you're good. I'm running the old old AXP 140 on a 9700k in my ITX case, a 180mm intake fan and a 140mm heatsink fan. The CPU stays at 30C idle and never passes 60C in game. OC is not tested yet.
BTW for any potential owners, get Google device from Google Store if you can or if there is not much of a price difference. Unlike Apple, Google only provides good(?) support to the devices ordered directly from Google store. This has saved me a lot of hassles in the past. Enjoyed much easier...
Ironically the unlocked version also came with OEM unlocking options greyed out on some devices. People are raising a hell over Google. I am returning mine due to this issue and will probably grab another one before the BF deal is over.
I like the Pixel series for this task, the OIS/EIS combination works wonders for me. Audio input like suggested above is not good enough, so I am also looking for a reliable external mic that works with Android.
All the update support discussion really deserves another thread. Has nothing to do with this thread and it can go on for years, as we've seen in other more "mainstream“ android/apple websites.
Agreed 50%. I'm a Fi user and the support has been satisfactory. But the lack of transparency in this issue is really not adding to my experience. I am worried that my buyer will potentially get her Pixel blacklisted some day, which will in turn back fires on me. "Lucky" we have Kyle to be one...
Given your influence, writing about your own experience has definitely helped make the life of a dozen others much easier. That was a really great move.
It's sad to have read this on Google Now. My interests are at stake from the other side of this story - I'm a seller of my Pixel and sold it on Swappa about 2 weeks ago. I truly hope Google won't be an a-hole and blacklist the phone I just sold, which will cause trouble to me and the nice lady I...
Have a 27" monitor for sale. Excellent condition. Had it for 3 years, gaming, surfing, "homeworking", etc. I'm getting two new monitors for dual-monitor setup so this one has to go.
Thanks

Herrrrro anybody's alive? :D
Trying to see what every owner's up to and if they have made the switch to something even cooler? If so, what have you moved on to?
Forgive me for jumping in and post :)
Definitely AXP-140 guys. I'm using it with thermalright TY-140 together with AP-180 fan from silverstone sg07 case. The temp is nothing but miracle @ 30C idle. I haven't really bothered to stress test the temp, but I guess idle means something already. The...
What's the reason of not to go with an Air cooler? I switched back n forth more than several times between Corsair Liquids and some highly rated low profile air cooler. I finally settled with air cooler
Those are some invaluable pics. Someone maniac over at Silverstone decided to put power cable THAT long in this small case, and you just killed his craziness! Yay.
