OpenZFS NAS (BSD, Illumos, Linux, OSX, Solaris, Windows + Storage Spaces) with napp-it web-gui

Thanks everyone for the help, and I didnt want to use that card but had no choice,, always use the ibm's flashed in my previous servers. It turned out to be a couple of ssd's that were in a hardware raid prior that was throwing the error, booted with gparted and started getting same sort of lib...

OpenZFS NAS (BSD, Illumos, Linux, OSX, Solaris, Windows + Storage Spaces) with napp-it web-gui

Pretty much verbatim how I did it, just wont work. If I ping or try downloading nappit I get an unknown host. But if I use nslookup, point it at 8.8.8.8, resolves no problem, also if I use dig with @8.8.8.8 also works. Checked resolve.conf and the entry for nameserver is there. Really stumped...

Hi, Having problems getting omni to resolve via dns. I have followed the guide on their page as well a few others, tried the latest stable and tls. Also tried using static and dhcp. Using google 8.8.8.8 as dns server. Dont think its a networking issue bc if I use nslookup or dig to query...

OpenZFS NAS (BSD, Illumos, Linux, OSX, Solaris, Windows + Storage Spaces) with napp-it web-gui

Ok, figured out the problem. I had the iscsi vol sitting on the root of the pool, didnt put it under a zfs folder... So after doing that, replication and remounting on the target server worked great! Thanks as always for your help Gea and writing this great program! My client will be buying the...

BTW, I have tested and mounted the NFS replication without issues, but the iscsi vols do not show up under zfs folder to unmark readonly, etc.

OpenZFS NAS (BSD, Illumos, Linux, OSX, Solaris, Windows + Storage Spaces) with napp-it web-gui

Can you tell me what steps then? I can see the volume under Disks->Volumes ( I used a Vol LU target on the sender machine) If I try to Create Vol LU and point to that volume I get "Error creating sbdadm: data file error". If I try to import the LU I get "Error importing stmfadm: meta file...

Also, is replication suppose to work for iscsi/comstar luns? I have tried importing or creating the LU on the backup server for the replicated volume but I get stfadm errors. This is after setting the replication job to manual.

Doing some more testing with the email, I created the emails jobs, then clicked "email" under "Job status" and here is the output ( some fields changed/ ommited for privacy) id=1333385195 server=smtp.west.cox.net to=test\@cox.net from=napp-it_noreply_NAS-oi-2@cox.net user=omitted...

OpenZFS NAS (BSD, Illumos, Linux, OSX, Solaris, Windows + Storage Spaces) with napp-it web-gui

Guess I was hoping there are some other log files somewhere for the email errors. I think its connecting to the smtp server because if I change that setting it gives me an error "cant contact the email server". There is not TLS on my email server. Btw, the same settings work just fine from my...

OpenZFS NAS (BSD, Illumos, Linux, OSX, Solaris, Windows + Storage Spaces) with napp-it web-gui

Ok, was able to create the appliance group from the other machine (machine A). But on machine A, under appliance group, everything shows ok and napp-it status for both shows "ok Version: "0.8c nightly Mar.21.2012". On machine B however, at the top under group overview it says "sh[3]: nc: not...

OpenZFS NAS (BSD, Illumos, Linux, OSX, Solaris, Windows + Storage Spaces) with napp-it web-gui

And not sure if this is related, but when I try to create an appliance-group (using the eval key you sent me), I am told the other server isnt running napp-it. Both are running 0.8c. Do I have to apply the eval license to both machines? From what Ive read, key only needs to be on the receiver...

OpenZFS NAS (BSD, Illumos, Linux, OSX, Solaris, Windows + Storage Spaces) with napp-it web-gui

I must be missing something obvious, but I always get a "send error to test@example.com" when testing the email. This is a cox cable email account, and I get this error even when sending to myself. I have made sure all my IP's are in the hosts file. Any ideas? Thanks.

OpenZFS NAS (BSD, Illumos, Linux, OSX, Solaris, Windows + Storage Spaces) with napp-it web-gui

bummer! Guess the only thing I'm concerned about is the network drivers. It comes up as a net0 instead of the regular e1000 (my tests showed the e1000 to be faster than vmxnet3 on SE11 and openindfiana, but maybe I was doing something wrong there)
