thanks for the bump. Anyone interested? I'm willing to adjust prices a little bit and pay for insurance.
I desperately need to sell these cards to pay for car insurance and rent .:(
I have 2 radeon 9800xt 256 (OEM) cards for sale. They are new and never used/overclocked.
Asking for: $380 shipped for 1 or $750 shipped for the pair.
These go for $435 or more + shipping online.

I'm thinknig about building a dual opteron server using the opteron 1.6ghz and the tyan s2875.
There was some talk about the possibility of AMD changing the pin count on these cpus? Thanks in advance for any advice.
I'm planning to have this as my main machine for 3-4 years. What else...
The maximum temp rated by the cpu manufacturer directly correlates to the number of years they're willing to stand by their cpus. Running close to the max rated temp will most likely shorten the life of the CPU (this is likely but not always the case).
Take (12 volts - forward voltage of LED)/current
example: blue LED has 3.3v forward voltage (max), 20mA
resistor you need = (12 -3.3)/0.02 = 435 ohms, so pick like 450 ohms and you're good to go.
Hi
I'm looking into the possibility of building a dual opteron system. I've found a few boards but I'm not sure how good they are.
There was an article about the MSI K8T Master2-FAR saying that the DIMMs are connected to only 1 CPU and that if said CPU chokes, the whole system would choke...
I would go with the anodized case. Painted cases usually have bubbles on the surface no matter how well it's painted unless they used some super quality paint + clear coat like the ones used on cars.
What RPM are you running your saw at such that it cuts the lexan without melting it too much? I've tried using a dremel and it either doesn't cut it, or cuts and melts right through like butter.
I have an OEM R9800XT, I can barely hear it since there are 4 case fans in my computer. If you want to lower the noise, you can try using 92mm fans instead of 80mm fans. Larger fans tend to hum at a lower frequency so they appear to not be as loud whereas 80mm or smaller fans tend to have this...
I have an acrylic window that was premade when I bought one of those x-dreamer cases. Acrylic naturally holds static electricity more than other kinds of plastics. As a result, dust often collects on the inside of the window. I get rid of it by using that anti-static bounce stuff that people...
You should use a thin coat of krylon primer before you do your actual painting. It makes the paint appear not as runny and more solid and consistent; it'll look smoother after you apply a second coat (use very thin coats).
That's how I painted all my faceplates.
When you're using both of the video outputs, it means that both are active (current flowing through them), so yeah it's normal for the card to be a bit hotter. Have you tried measuring the temps on your core?
Awesome card, btw.
If you don't absolutely need to upgrade now, it would be a good idea to hold off a little bit. Since you're considering going AMD64, wait like a month or two for prices to drop a bit more.
I'm waiting for the opterons to drop prices closer to xeons before I work on my dual cpu box
If this computer is going to be used as the main rendering machine for a few years to come, you should think about investing in SMP systems like dual xeons.
I think the main thing holding the mobiles back from much OC is propietary motherboards not allowing for much room. You're talking about doing this on laptops right?
